What a magical place! We had an amazing stay with our 6 & 4 yr old daughters. They loved all the activities including coffee picking, feeding chickens, kids zip line, waterfall hike, etc - we only wished we could have done tortilla making and gone to the lechera too! And the food we ordered from Digna was incredible! She’s an amazing cook. Yes, it is a little tricky to get to (need 4x4) and we got our share of bug bites, but it was the perfect place to disconnect in nature as a family. Irene has created a beautiful environment - you’ll love it!

God hytte, som passede godt til vores familie på fem. Virkelig et hyggeligt sted med dyr og vandreruter. Vi bestilte frokost og aftensmad på stedet og man må bare sige at maden var fantastisk. Kan kun anbefale dette sted.

Ie had a wonderful 2 night stay. It is very remote and 4x4 is definitely recommended. There is a second accomodation beside. The living rooms are open air and face each other, but nobody was staying there so was very private. The caretaker lives on-site and was friendly. We stayed on property the 2 days and hiked the well laid out trails through the jungle to the waterfall (we are knowledgable adventure tour operators and advise caution in the jungle and near the river, especially at the waterfall). We also took a walk through the coffee field. It was all very beautiful. Just a note, it's a bit out of town so arriving prepared with tue food and water that you need for your stay is helpful. There is a sink that you can hand wash in and a clothes line, though it was too damp for our clothes to dry in the 2 days that we were there. Also no running hot water for showers, but it was very fresh and had lovely shampoo provided made from plants on the property. I'd love to visit again!

The property has beautiful scenery, and we enjoyed seeing the animals around the grounds. The on-site host was kind, the breakfast was good, and we appreciated having coffee provided. The bedroom and bathroom felt comfortable and offered the most privacy. There were a few things future guests should be aware of. The drive in is long and can feel dangerous, and the living room and kitchen are completely open to the outdoors and close to neighboring houses, so there isn’t much privacy in those areas. The stay is very secluded with nothing nearby to do, and the rooster starts crowing early in the morning. The on-site host only speaks Spanish, and Irene was not there during our visit. Also, the only enclosed spaces are the bedroom and bathroom, which have screens rather than windows. Overall, the setting is pretty and the host on site was welcoming, but the experience is best suited for guests who are comfortable with a rustic, remote environment.

Beautiful granja!! Our kids (3&5) absolutely loved it and cried when we left. Rene let them tag along everywhere and help with the farm chores, feeding the animals, “working”, hiking, and learning. His wife showed them how to make homemade tortillas. The place was very relaxing and loved the bamboo home and grounds for us adults as well. It is a trek to get up to the property but once you’re there it is worth it!! I would recommend bringing food/snacks with you as you don’t want to leave once you are there. Although there is a little tienda 10minutes or so nearby. We should be back next year. Thank you to Rene, his wife & Irene.

Our family of 4 had a wonderful stay at the farm. The home is beautiful, with a wonderful outdoor living space. The grounds are also spectacular- we explored the trails and swam in the various swimming holes- but most importantly, Rene and Digna were incredible hosts who took great care of us. We enjoyed Digna’s delicious meals, and Rene showed us all around, from cheese making to horseback riding. They both took great care to make sure we were comfortable. Definitely recommend the high-clearance 4x4. We had a 4x4 but not very high clearance and navigating some of the road to the house was a challenge. It was wonderful to spend time in these smaller communities and to soak up the peaceful atmosphere of the farm.

We absolutely love the finca. The home, hiking trails, waterfalls, surrounding views, the farm animals and especially Digna and Renee. This place is very special to our family. We will always include a stay here whenever we visit. Truly a lovely farm cared for by lovely people. Thank you for sharing your finca with us. We can’t wait to come back.

Krásný dům na krásném místě. Pokud si chceš užít tu opravdovou Kostariku tak je to místo přesně pro tebe. Správce farmy je velmi užitečný a ukáže ti život na farmě.
