Pacific Edge is an eco-friendly, unique Bed and Breakfast, located 10 minutes South from Dominical and 15 minutes North from Uvita. We are only minutes away from several public beaches, restaurants and excursions along the coastal highway. Built on a finger ridge, 675 feet above the Pacific Ocean, each cabin features a rustic open air concept with screened in windows and fresh mountain air breezes. Enjoy the daily sounds of toucans, parrots and afternoon daily visits from our monkey neighbors. The space Come join us in our little piece paradise. We are living on site and we are happy to meet you & answer any questions you may have. We can also help suggest & book excursions & restaurants. Pacific Edge has four private bungalows built alongside the edge of the mountain. Each open air, screened in cabin is outfitted with a Queen-size bed, or more, depending on size, private bathroom, kitchenette, ceiling and floor fans, a private porch with chairs and a hammock, as well as stunning ocean views! Recently upgraded mattresses & luxurious linens & towels throughout. Each kitchenette has an induction cooktop, small toaster oven, small fridge and coffee maker with complimentary Costa Rican coffee, individual tea bags, and raw sugar. Enjoy a made-to-order breakfast from our menu (for a fee) under our covered Rancho Restaurant or order a sunset cocktail by the pool. You can also check out our Art Gallery (next to the Rancho) where you can find local Indigenous Borucan Masks & Borucan hand woven bags, along with local artwork & artisan jewelry. Guests have full access to the property and can enjoy the pool, sunset platform, or hanging out in one of our two look out towers, while watching the hummingbirds, butterflies, parrots, toucans and of course many monkeys that love to visit through out the day at Pacific Edge. Our area is lush and green all year long and the mountains come right up to the ocean - so even though our road is 1.2 kilometers (0.8 miles) up the mountain, we are only 5 minutes from the nearest beach! There are many activities to fill your days... surfing, snorkelling, swimming in clear waterfall pools, zip lining, horseback riding, ATV tours, kayaking, birdwatching, national park tours, and lots more! Or you can just hang out by the pool, relax, and recharge! A 4x4 vehicle is required. Contact us BEFORE making a car rental reservation! We have an agreement with a trusted agency that gives guests of Pacific Edge a discount off of posted rates, but only if you book through us. Guest access: Guests enjoy their own cabina that includes almost 500 sq ft of space including their own 160 sq ft covered patio with kitchenette. The pool is available to all guests until 9pm. Other things to note: Cabina 1 is a maximum occupancy of 3 people, Cabinas 2 & 3 is a maximum occupancy of 4 people and Cabin 4 is a maximum of 6. We ask that there are no children under 12 as we are located on the edge of a mountain and we want to maintain the tranquility and calmness for our guests. With that being said, we do make exceptions to this rule so please inquire with us before booking. We are available to host small weddings, events, and yoga / wellness retreats, so please inquire if interested. (Profits with Purpose. We believe in giving back so a portion of all proceeds from our Art gallery will benefit several local charities of your choosing.) We look forward to meeting you in the jungle and helping you create your ideal Costa Rican vacation! Costa Rica charges a 13% hotel tax on all bookings. Tax is not included and will need to collect this during check out. Airbnb doesn’t allow us to add this to our listing. If you have any questions please let us know in advance. Thank you! Guest access Guests have full access to the property and can enjoy the pool, sunset platform, or hanging out in one of our two look out towers, while watching the hummingbirds, butterflies, parrots, toucans and of course many monkeys that love to visit through out the day at Pacific Edge. Other things to note We have gathered a bit of information for you below, before you arrive. We hope that this helps to answer a few of our most common questions. We kindly ask that you please take the time to read this, so that you know well our policies in advance. Children under 12 are not allowed at this time. We are a very tranquil and quiet hotel and we need respect all of our guests privacy so that you all may enjoy the peace and solitude of your jungle surroundings. Having young children disrupts this tranquility and as much as we love them, it was a decision we felt we needed to uphold moving into 2022. If you choose to book all of the rooms for a special event ie: family / friends reunion, wedding etc. then they will be allowed on case by case basis. Unfortunately there are too many areas that young children could be injured as we are built on the top of a natural mountain ridge. If you do book out the entire property for your event, family reunion, children need to have adult supervision at all times. We also have 3 rescue pups (Otis, Ozzie, & Owen) who keep watch over the property & love to be pet! They are extremely sweet & gentle & roam our 4 acres of jungle. 😊 Check In: Our check in time time is between 3:00pm-6pm. If we have availability you may be able to check in earlier, but we most likely won’t know until the day of check in. Late check-ins can be made up until 8pm and will incur a late fee. We will have to make someone available to check you in, so we will need to know in advance your check in time or to help you make other arrangements. Check out is between 9:00-10:00am. Likewise, if we don’t have other guests checking in that day, you may be able to extend your checkout time. Late check outs may incur an additional fee. Please ask us in advance and we will do our best to accommodate you. We serve breakfast between 7:00am-9:00am (Menu with prices on board in Rancho/common area). We are only serving breakfast at this time, but we do offer sunset cocktails / wine/ beer / smoothies for purchase during the day. Air Travel: If you have not already booked your air travel and if you are wanting to stay with us on your arrival date, please consider booking a flight that arrives no later than 3pm. It will take you 3 plus hours to get to us from the airport on a good travel day (regardless of what the google map says) and depending on several factors, (ie: how long you will be in customs, how long it takes you to pick up your rental car, etc.) you might not make it here until well after dark. Sunset is around 5:35-5:55 year round (we do not observe Daylight savings time) so it can be intimidating and very tiresome while driving during that time. If you are traveling to us during rainy season or if their are very slow trucks or traffic on your way, it could take your considerably longer to arrive. Our latest check in is 8pm as we close down the Rancho and common areas. Under certain extreme situations you may check in at a later time, but this needs to be communicated to us directly as soon as possible, since no one will be available after 8pm. In case you didn’t realize, we are a small, family-run, Bed & Breakfast and not a typical hotel chain. So there isn’t staff here to check you in at all hours of the night. Also if we have to check guests in after 8pm, that could disturb our other guests and the tranquil vibe of the property. Of course, if you are here earlier you will catch the most amazing sunset around! It is the best time to start to relax and to “Simply Be”. So we kindly ask that everyone do their very best to get here within the allotted check in time. We certainly like to accommodate everyone, so communication is key in order to help us to do our part in helping you. If you ARE arriving in San Jose at a later time and you do not wish to drive all of this way in one day, we do have recommendations for you. We can recommend nearby hotels that are closer to the airport or only an hour south of San Jose in the Jaco/ Playa Hermosa area. If you are renting from our rental car partner, Vamos Rental Car, they can also offer discounted room rates next to the airport & rental agency. Please email us and we will be glad to recommend other accommodations for you for your first nights stay before you head our way. Car Rental: If you haven’t booked your transportation yet we recommended Vamos Car Rental. We have used them for 10 years and we trust they will serve you well. They have the best and most competitive rates around and if you mention you are staying with us at Pacific Edge Eco Lodge, you will receive a discount. We do highly recommend a 4x4 car during your stay. Not only to access our road (we are 1.25 km up the mountain) but many of the other restaurants and excursions in the area as well. If you want to explore, you need a 4x4. Each cabin is a rustic open air concept with screened in windows and fresh mountain air breezes blowing through your room. Each cabin is also equipped with ceiling and floor fans in case you need them. Most guests don’t even turn them on, as it does become chilly in the mornings / evenings, making for perfect sleeping weather. Each cabin has its own bathroom and hot water showers. Each room has its own towels for your personal use inside the cabin and we offer separate pool/beach towels in the Rancho / Common area. We do not have local toiletries (Shampoo/Conditioner / Shower Soap) at this time so keep that in mind when traveling with us. We hope to offer this in the near future. Cabin 1-3 has its own small kitchen with its own small refrigerator and Cabin 4 has a full kitchen and two bathrooms. All cabins have an covered porch with hammock and seating areas. The rooms include a toaster, induction cooktop and coffee maker with complimentary Costa Rican coffee and sugar. Each kitchen has all the utensils you need for cooking your own meals, if you choose to do so. There are a couple of grocery stores nearby if you would like to purchase your own food while staying with us. If not, we have several restaurant recommendations in the area that we would be happy to share with you. Excursions/ Wellness: If you are interested in yoga, massage, hiking, waterfalls, surfing, river boat tours, beaches, national parks, zip-lining or kayaking, please email us or message us directly. We will gladly help book these tours for you. We are sincerely glad to help you with any questions you may have before your vacation with us. So please feel free to reach out to us at the above contact information at any time. We look forward to hosting you all soon! Michaelynn and Sid Vandiver Owners at Pacific Edge Eco Lodge

This place is an absolute gem with once in a lifetime views across the Pacific. The Host genuinely loves the place and the country, and make it a point to spread that love to anyone that comes.

We started our Costa Rica journey at this lodge and we couldn’t be happier with our stay here. The lodge is peaceful, quiet, and surrounded by nature and incredible views. The hosts live on site and care for the bungalow and property with so much love. They are truly wonderful people and we loved our stay here. The beach is a quick drive, peaceful, and quiet. We are so thankful to them for sharing their hospitality, delicious breakfasts, and letting us experience this part of the country.

If you want to be immersed in the jungle and love the idea of an open air cabin with a breathtaking view of the pacific as soon as you step out onto your private balcony, this is the place for you. The hosts are both top freaking notch and treat you like longtime friends as soon as you arrive. We came to Costa Rica with a "go with the flow" plan and Micha, "my big sister", basically planned every day of our vacation for us and not a single day was a disappointment. We woke up to the sounds of howler monkeys and scarlet macaws. After watching all of the wildlife while drinking coffee on the viewing deck, Sid made us a delicious made to order breakfast and we would all chat about our days. It's apparent these guys love what they do and take pride in making sure every guest is having a good time. This place is a true gem and the memories we have here will last a lifetime. 10/10

Wow what can I say, Pacific edge was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. The views and location were awesome and completely stunning. Mika and Sid are wonderful hosts, they're super warm, welcoming and we were made to feel like family. The lodges although basic are clean and comfortable and kiting out with everything you need. Sid's breakfasts are generous, tasty and a perfect way to start the day. Worth every penny and highly recommended 👌

We had the most wonderful, welcoming stay at Pacific Edge, starting with the excellent communication before we even arrived in Costa Rica. The setting is stunning, with a gorgeous view of the coastline and dense rainforest surrounding the property. We were able to see Toucans, other various birds and a large troupe of playful Capuchin monkeys right from the view deck (they gave us a full show after watching it rain for over a day). When we had downtime, we enjoyed just talking and hanging out with Sid, Michaelyn and Kaiya and left feeling like we had made friends to last a lifetime. We hope one day we can repay them for their kindness and generosity. If you have the opportunity to support this family and their piece of paradise, definitely do it.

**STUNNING Views - Truly jaw-dropping!!! This is a super special, unique spot, and we can't stop thinking about our AMAZING stay! We loved our cabina, with our own covered deck + hammock, super comfy bed, great little kitchen, etc. It's so incredibly peaceful! Owners Micah and Sid are such kind, caring people and they took excellent care of us. Sid makes one seriously tasty cocktail, and also super delicious breakfasts!! The pool overlooking the vast jungle, hills and down to the ocean is downright fabulous. They have various outdoor spaces, perches, etc to enjoy the unbelievably gorgeous view. The large deck absolutely blew us away. Scarlett Macaws, toucans, butterflies were seen every day, and we loved hearing the howler monkeys in the distance. We stayed at 5 different accommodations on our trip to Costa Rica, and Pacific Edge was simply the BEST!!

Pacific Edge Eco Lodge was an Absolute Dream. This little gem is nestled against a jungle backdrop with a breathtaking view of Playa Domenicalito. Pacific Edge exceeded all of our expectations. The location and accommodations are out of this world. The beds are so crisp and comfortable that you won't want to get up in the morning- But you Should! Because Toucans, Aracaris and Capuchins are waiting to greet you! Micah and Syd are phenomenal Hosts. They will go out of their way to make sure you are happy, comfortable, well-informed and entertained. The best meals we had in Domenical came straight from their kitchen. Do yourself a favor and Have Syd whip up a breakfast burrito while you sip coffee and peer across treetops out onto the ocean. . We cannot wait to go back and visit these wonderful folks in their Treetop Paradise. We wouldn't stay anywhere else.
