The Space
Casa de Pura Vida is located 20 minutes south of La Fortuna, in the peaceful countryside town of San Isidro, Peñas Blancas. This property offers a serene rural setting while being just minutes away from numerous eco-adventures, wellness activities, and natural attractions such as rain and cloud forest canopy tours, zip lining, waterfalls, Volcán Arenal, Lake Arenal, and much more.
The main house includes:
- Two bedrooms
- One bathroom
- A fully equipped kitchen
Additionally, there is an outdoor kitchen and BBQ area (rancho) ideal for cooking and dining al fresco. The property spans nearly one acre filled with lush tropical gardens and various fruit trees.
There are also two other cabins on the grounds. One cabin is used by the host when the main house is rented.

I don't write bad reviews of hosts. In my experience, the vast majority of hosts are well-meaning and doing their best, so it takes a lot of ineptitude on the hosts part to force a bad review. I work remotely and have a young child, so when we travel, we look for basic logistics: is the kitchen usable? Am I able to work remotely? And most importantly, are we safe? We rely on accuracy from the host since Airbnb is not able to go and verify that the pictures and description are up-to-date. Unfortunately for us, we simply did not receive accurate information. In fairness to Patrick, he may have been used to dealing with backpackers and people who do not cook. Past reviewers mention the dogs and the pool. Both are great, but we were hoping for a usable kitchen, a considerate host and an accurate description. We found none of those things here.

La estancia estuvo magnífica, el lugar es muy grande y bello muchas especies de avez para ver, lugar super tranquilo para descansar, además que mis hijas disfrutaron mucho de la piscina, su cascada es muy relajante, y su hamaca para disfrutar del atardecer, además el lugar a sus cercanías tiene de todo tanto como restaurantes como supermercados y lugares para disfrutar. Patrick fue un excelente anfitrión, muy atento en todo momento, siempre pendiente de nuestras solicitudes, la casa muy ordenada aseada, y con todo lo que necesitamos en nuestra estadía, super recomendado.
