The Space
Villa Mariposa is situated in the heart of Playa del Carmen within the luxury gated community of Playacar, offering 24/7 security and close proximity to the beach. The villa features six bedrooms and five and a half bathrooms.
There is convenient parking available for three cars directly in front of the villa. The property includes over 5,600 square feet of spacious living areas, plus an additional 1,100 square feet rooftop terrace with stunning views of the tropical forest and the Hard Rock golf course. The villa also offers a large terrace and balcony.
Ceiling heights range from 10 to 12 feet throughout the home, complementing its modern design. Outdoor amenities include a large private pool, a separate heatable whirlpool, and a hot tub located on the terrace.
Entertainment options feature an HD home cinema, a Bose sound system with a smartphone docking station, two smart TVs, and Wi-Fi coverage throughout the house and garden. For recreation, there is a ping pong table and a pool table.
The kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances, including a fridge/freezer with an integrated ice maker, an additional ice machine, dishwasher, stove, oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, and mixer. A laundry room with a washing machine and dryer is also available.
Additional beds and cribs can be arranged in some rooms upon request through the concierge.

Had a wonderful stay at Mariposa. Staff was very responsive prior to stay. Mauricio was super attentive at check in and following up on small issues or questions throughout the stay. The daily service provided by the maids was top notch. It really helped keep the place manageable with 16 of us there. The house is walkable to several shops and restaurants. The bikes were nice to have. The beach wasn’t as convenient. But the kids loved the pool and hot tub. And we ended up spending 1 day at the Iberostar right down the street. Overall, a high quality place, nice location, and VERY helpful staff throughout!

Villa Mariposa exceeded our expectations with its stunning design and prime location near the entrance of Playacar. This was our first time staying at an Airbnb during our annual trip to Mexico, as we typically opt for all-inclusive hotels. The house features a fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, spacious and private rooms, and comprehensive AC throughout. Our family enjoyed daily bicycle rides provided by the villa, along with pool games and movie nights. The hot tub and pool were impeccably maintained and very enjoyable. Our concierge Mauricio was attentive and checked in daily to ensure we had everything we needed. We also appreciated the daily cleaning service from Mary and Karla, which made us feel truly at home. We were sad to leave Villa Mariposa and Playa del Carmen, but we're already looking forward to returning. We highly recommend this beautiful property and would love to stay again.

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Mariposa. The house was clean and well maintained, and the location was perfect, close to the beach and downtown Playa. What really stood out was the excellent service. Jasmin and Edson were responsive and accommodating prior to our arrival, and the concierge (Mauricio) was especially helpful during our stay—always available to assist with anything we needed. We would absolutely stay here again, and highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Playa. Thanks again to Mauricio and the staff for making our trip truly enjoyable.

We took a group of 13 to Villa Mariposa and it was worth every penny. Mauricio and the maids made the entire stay so comfortable and convenient for us. The kitchen has everything you need, the pool is big, the beds are comfy and clean, there is an abundance of wildlife that can be seen outside the fences - the place is simply perfect. Another big thanks to Mauricio and the maids for an incredible stay!!

We stayed at Villa Mariposa for a bachelorette. The property is beautiful- lots of beds, space, big kitchen. Our concierge Mauricio was fantastic. He a clear communicator and went out of his way to send us something left behind. Our review would be lower if not for him. However, our experience was significantly marred by the behavior of property manager, Edson. Before arrival, we arranged chef services through Edson, who told us to send $340 via Pay pal to an email. We followed his instructions precisely and shared proof of payment, which he acknowledged. However, the chef later claimed he never received the $ and said payment should have gone to “Davalos Kitchen,” a name we were never given. When we asked for clarification and a possible discount due to the confusion, Edson responded with hostility, including a mocking video tutorial on PP. Whether this was a scam or a serious mishandling, the experience was troubling. The villa is lovely, but be cautious and pay in person for extras

Stayed here for my bachelorette with 15 guests total and it was incredible. We had a complex pickup and drop-off schedule with multiple arrivals and departures to the airport and our concierge, Mauricio, coordinated everything perfectly (make sure to give them clear times and flight numbers). The maid, private chefs, and everyone we interacted with went above and beyond and this weekend was a dream! The house is huge and there is so much to do with the pools and hammocks. The large number of bathrooms are great for coming back from the beach/pools and the maid service with fresh towels is amazing. Could not recommend more!

Our stay at Villa Mariposa was absolutely perfect! This beautiful, spacious home is clean, comfortable and has all the amenities a family needs for an enjoyable vacation (pool, hot tubs, hammocks, bikes, pool table, ping pong table, yoga equipment, etc). The kids really enjoyed the local wildlife visitations! The Villa is located in a safe, quiet gated community only 10 minutes away from Xplor, Xcaret and many other activities. There are also a couple of cute, little restaurants within walking distance for lunch and dinner. Our concierge, Mauricio, was very friendly, welcoming, always available and very helpful in arranging events and transportation for our group. The daily maid staff was also very friendly and efficient. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return to this beautiful home again next year.

This is a beautiful property and is very well appointed. We were impressed with how well stocked it was and how clean everything was. The cleaning team that came every day was very quiet and respectful. The transportation shuttle from the airport and back was so smooth and easy which we appreciated. I would encourage guests to consider getting a car from one of the local car companies in the complex or downtown Play Del Carmen to get around as it wasn't as easy to get taxis for our group as we thought it might be. Also, we were unable to use the bicycles as they needed some maintenance (which the team there jumped on when we mentioned it.). It is a long walk to the beach from the property (do not walk through the golf course, we learned that the hard way lol). We loved the pool area and the friendly animals that passed through the backyard a couple times. Overall recommend this house as being comfortable and it would be more convenient if we had had a car the whole time.

We absolutely loved staying at Villa Mariposa. It was even more beautiful than the pictures. We utilized the private chef service and were not disappointed. Both meals were delicious. I can’t complain about anything. It really was lovely.
