Recently upgraded mattresses & luxurious linens & towels throughout. Each kitchenette has a 2 burner cooktop, small fridge and coffee maker with complimentary Costa Rican coffee. You can also check out our Art Gallery (next to the Rancho) where you can find local Indigenous Borucan Masks & Borucan hand woven bags, along with local artwork & artisan jewelry. Our area is lush and green all year long and the mountains come right up to the ocean - so even though our road is 2 kilometres up the mountain, we are only 5 minutes from the nearest beach! There are many activities to fill your days... surfing, snorkelling, swimming in clear waterfall pools, zip lining, horseback riding, ATV tours, kayaking, birdwatching, national park tours, and lots more! Or you can just hang out by the pool, relax, and recharge! A 4x4 vehicle is required. Contact us BEFORE making a car rental reservation! We have an agreement with a trusted agency that gives guests of Pacific Edge a discount off of posted rates, but only if you book through us. Guest access: Guests enjoy their own cabina that includes almost 500 sq ft of space including their own 160 sq ft covered patio with kitchenette. The pool is available to all guests until 9pm. If you would like breakfast, lunch or dinner, please let us know the day before so we can plan your meals accordingly. Other things to note: Cabina 1 is a maximum occupancy of 3 people, Cabinas 2 & 3 is a maximum occupancy of 4 people and Cabin 4 is a maximum of 6. We ask that there are no children under 13 as we are located on the edge of a mountain and we want to maintain the tranquility and calmness for our guests. With that being said, we do make exceptions to this rule so please inquire with us before booking. We are available to host small weddings, events, and yoga / wellness retreats, so please inquire if interested. (Profits with Purpose. We believe in giving back so a portion of all proceeds from our Art gallery will benefit several local charities of your choosing.) We look forward to meeting you in the jungle and helping you create your ideal Costa Rican vacation! Costa Rica charges a 13% hotel tax on all bookings. Tax is not included and will need to collect this during check out. Airbnb doesn’t allow us to add this to our listing. If you have any questions please let us know in advance. Thank you! Guest access Guests have full access to the property and can enjoy the pool, sunset platform, or hanging out in one of our two look out towers, while watching the hummingbirds, butterflies, parrots, toucans and of course many monkeys that love to visit through out the day at Pacific Edge. Other things to note We have gathered a bit of information for you below, before you arrive. We hope that this helps to answer a few of our most common questions. We kindly ask that you please take the time to read this, so that you know well our policies in advance. Children under 12 are not allowed at this time. We are a very tranquil and quiet hotel and we need respect all of our guests privacy so that you all may enjoy the peace and solitude of your jungle surroundings. Having young children disrupts this tranquility and as much as we love them, it was a decision we felt we needed to uphold moving into 2022. If you choose to book all of the rooms for a special event ie: family / friends reunion, wedding etc. then they will be allowed on case by case basis. Unfortunately there are too many areas that young children could be injured as we are built on the top of a natural mountain ridge. If you do book out the entire property for your event, family reunion, children need to have adult supervision at all times. Check In: Our check in time time is between 3:00pm-6pm. If we have availability you may be able to check in earlier, but we most likely won’t know until the day of check in. Late check-ins can be made up until 8pm and will incur a late fee. We will have to make someone available to check you in, so we will need to know in advance your check in time or to help you make other arrangements. Check out is between 9:00-9:30am. Likewise, if we don’t have other guests checking in that day, you may be able to extend your checkout time. Late check outs may incur an additional fee. Please ask us in advance and we will do our best to accommodate you. We serve breakfast between 7:00am-9:00am. We are only serving breakfast at this time, but we do offer sunset cocktails / wine/ beer / smoothies for purchase anytime during the day. Air Travel: If you have not already booked your air travel and if you are wanting to stay with us on your arrival date, please consider booking a flight that arrives no later than 3pm. It will take you 3 plus hours to get to us from the airport on a good travel day (regardless of what the google map says) and depending on several factors, (ie: how long you will be in customs, how long it takes you to pick up your rental car, etc.) you might not make it here until well after dark. Sunset is around 5:35-5:55 year round (we do not observe Daylight savings time) so it can be intimidating and very tiresome while driving during that time. If you are traveling to us during rainy season or if their are very slow trucks or traffic on your way, it could take your considerably longer to arrive. Our latest check in is 8pm as we close down the Rancho and common areas. Under certain extreme situations you may check in at a later time, but this needs to be communicated to us directly as soon as possible, since no one will be available after 8pm. In case you didn’t realize, we are a small, family-run, Bed & Breakfast and not a typical hotel chain. So there isn’t staff here to check you in at all hours of the night. Also if we have to check guests in after 8pm, that could disturb our other guests and the tranquil vibe of the property. Of course, if you are here earlier you will catch the most amazing sunset around! It is the best time to start to relax and to “Simply Be”. So we kindly ask that everyone do their very best to get here within the allotted check in time. We certainly like to accommodate everyone, so communication is key in order to help us to do our part in helping you. If you ARE arriving in San Jose at a later time and you do not wish to drive all of this way in one day, we do have recommendations for you. We can recommend nearby hotels that are closer to the airport or only an hour south of San Jose in the Jaco/ Playa Hermosa area. If you are renting from our rental car partner, Vamos Rental Car, they can also offer discounted room rates next to the airport & rental agency. Please email us and we will be glad to recommend other accommodations for you for your first nights stay before you head our way. Car Rental: If you haven’t booked your transportation yet we recommended Vamos Car Rental. We have used them for 10 years and we trust they will serve you well. They have the best and most competitive rates around and if you mention you are staying with us at Pacific Edge Eco Lodge, you will receive a discount. We do highly recommend a 4x4 car during your stay. Not only to access our road (we are 1.25 km up the mountain) but many of the other restaurants and excursions in the area as well. If you want to explore, you need a 4x4. Each cabin is a rustic open air concept with screened in windows and fresh mountain air breezes blowing through your room. Each cabin is also equipped with ceiling and floor fans in case you need them. Most guests don’t even turn them on, as it does become chilly in the mornings / evenings, making for perfect sleeping weather. Each cabin has its own bathroom and hot water showers. Each room has its own towels for your personal use inside the cabin and we offer separate pool/beach towels in the Rancho / Common area. We do not have local toiletries (Shampoo/Conditioner / Shower Soap) at this time so keep that in mind when traveling with us. We hope to offer this in the near future. Cabin 1-3 has its own small kitchen with its own small refrigerator and Cabin 4 has a full kitchen and two bathrooms. All cabins have an covered porch with hammock and seating areas. The rooms include a toaster, cooktop and coffee maker with complimentary Costa Rican coffee and sugar. Each kitchen has all the utensils you need for cooking your own meals, if you choose to do so. There are a couple of grocery stores nearby if you would like to purchase your own food while staying with us. If not, we have several restaurant recommendations in the area that we would be happy to share with you. Excursions/ Wellness: If you are interested in yoga, massage, hiking, waterfalls, surfing, river boat tours, beaches, national parks, zip-lining or kayaking, please email us or message us directly. We will gladly help book these tours for you. We are sincerely glad to help you with any questions you may have before your vacation with us. So please feel free to reach out to us at the above contact information at any time. We look forward to hosting you all soon! Michaelynn and Sid Vandiver Owners at Pacific Edge Eco Lodge

The stay was amazing. The lodge is pretty and fitting to the environment. The lodges and their surroundings are simply an immacular vibe. And the view is out of this world, when the sun shines but also when thunders and lighting fill the sky. Sleeping with suddle rain or intense jungle thunderstorm was something one may dream for ages to come. If you plan to visit, consider staying for a few days more, rather than 2-3. There is so many activities and places to be, which brings me to my next point. The host, Sid, is an almost all-knowing, interesting and likeable character. He shows and knows tipps and tricks to get around. You can even get there with a simple 2x4 car but having one definitely isn‘t a disadvantage.

Highly highly recommend the Pacific Edge Eco Lodge! Aside from the most AMAZING view, you will get great hospitality from the owners. Our stay here was nothing short of incredible; (delicious breakfast, peaceful grounds, great location - close to both beaches and waterfalls, friendly and helpful service). We will definitely be visiting here again!!

We had an awesome 2 night stay at Pacific Edge Eco Lodge. Sid and Micha were excellent hosts that really made us feel welcome and comfortable. The lodging is really nice, rustic but with modern, upscale touches. Wood cabins that have character and charm and all with private decks. One amazing feature were the incredibly comfortable beds and linens. The coffee in the room was excellent. The view cannot be beat! They have a gorgeous observatory deck, nothing standing between you and the stunning ocean sunsets other than the dense jungle below. The photos barely do it justice. The pool seemed like it would be great for keeping cool and relaxing after a day of adventure, but we didn’t take advantage as we were waterlogged from the beach and rivers. There is secure parking and a safe in the room to protect wallets and passports and other small items. I think it could fit a laptop. The wifi worked just fine. The grounds felt very secure with fencing and cameras. The layout of the villas is private although they are in close proximity to one another. The way they are positioned in tiers makes you feel like your neighbor can’t eavesdrop on your vacation. We didn’t hear any of our neighbors. There are kitchenettes with a small refrigerator and all the tools needed to prepare a basic meal or else you can order from their restaurant. We only had smoothies and toast(just right) as we were on the go, but Sid and Micha both have extensive service experience and I get the feeling that anything that comes out of their kitchen would be as polished as their customer service. They both carry the pura vida approach to hosting which is not always the case in these coastal towns; arrive when you can, come as you please, if we can help we will and communicate quickly. We fully enjoyed hearing about their journey that brought them to this gem of a location in Costa Rica. We found ourselves talking at length about various topics, enjoying their company as if they were old friends. Their approach to hosting is warm and charming and feels like they have been doing this for decades. We can’t wait to come back!! One last thing: the wildlife. We were surrounded by an incredible variety of birds, including toucans. If you give yourself the time to be quiet and listen, you will be amazed at all the sounds provided from the canopy below. In addition, we were among howlers one morning (literally howling outside our window), saw dozens of butterflies and and the cutest lizards..and were treated to bio luminescence (glowing algae) one evening in the surf of the nearest beach, Dominicalito. We could not have asked for more magic. Thank you for being our home for two nights, and for all the kindness, understanding, smiles, and laughter!

Where do I even begin?! I got so lucky stumbling on the listing for this dreamy b&b while planning a *very* last minute trip to Costa Rica. The new owners have been staying at Pacific Edge as guests themselves for over a decade and recently purchased the property when the founding owners retired. We had the lovely honor of being their first guests!! Micha and Sid were SO kind, so welcoming, and so thrilled to have us! It was my first time coming to CR and I literally had less than a week to put everything in to motion - they told us where to rent a car, where to stop for food on our way down, how to do the COVID testing for our return trip, among other great recommendations during our stay. The cabins were so perfect - they are open air so we went to sleep with the hum of the jungle and woke up to the deep growls of local howler monkeys in the nearby valley. I watched the parrots flit and squawk in the mornings while I drank my coffee on the porch. The view of Dominical and Dominicalito Beaches are hard to beat - especially at sunset. See what the surf is doing before you even put your suit on! The rooms come with enough appliances to have what we needed for snacks, early morning coffee, and keeping beers cold! Sid makes a killer breakfast that was so convenient on the days when we we either moving slow or had to run out and wouldn’t have time to stop in town. There isn’t a thing I would change about our stay there. They are in the process of updating some features around the property and I can’t wait to get back and see how they make it their own. Don’t pass up a chance to stay here! Thank you again Sid and Micha!
