The Space
This newly built, fully furnished home is located on the Pacific Ocean in Playa Potrero, Costa Rica. It offers three bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms, comfortably accommodating up to six guests. The residence spans 1,076 square feet and is designed with simplicity in mind, striking a unique balance between privacy and social spaces. The layout is practical and charming, providing all the essentials without any unnecessary extras.
The Merry Mermaid sits on a 912 square meter lot that includes three identical houses, collectively known as Tres Mermaids. Merry Mermaid is positioned poolside and beachfront. Another house on the property, Mystic Mermaid, is located at the opposite end of the pool. The third home is situated behind the other two, closer to the entrance. Each house is independent and can be rented either separately or together.
The master suite features a queen bed, a private bathroom, and two sliding doors that open to the outside. One guest bedroom contains a queen bed, while the other has two twin beds that can be combined into a king bed if preferred. These guest rooms share a full bathroom. Additionally, there is a half bathroom in the common area for visitors.
The kitchen is equipped with a breakfast bar, granite countertops, and stainless steel appliances. An oversized refrigerator and freezer provide ample space for snacks and include an ice maker to keep beverages chilled. For convenience, a full-sized washer and dryer are available. Each room has its own air conditioning unit to help guests stay cool.
Outside, a private terrace is furnished with comfortable patio seating. The pool area features chaise lounges and zero gravity chairs. Just steps from the beach, guests can relax in hammocks like the locals do.

The home is situated on Potrero Beach, just north of the expanding Flamingo Marina and adjacent to the nightlife in the Surfside neighborhood. Potrero Beach is a long, walkable stretch with calm waters, ideal for watching local fishermen and enjoying stunning sunsets.
Set back from the main road within a gated property, the location offers both privacy and convenience. Nearby amenities include local restaurants (sodas), small grocery stores (supers), beach bars, and the town’s soccer field, all within walking distance.

We greatly enjoyed our stay here and especially appreciated Walter's hospitality on the grounds! He was very friendly, provided us with excellent recommendations and welcomed us to Potrero. The space itself was perfect for a group of people visiting, with the beach just steps away and the pool in your backyard.

Kristen was an outstanding host, and the Merry Mermaid was everything we hoped for on our journey. Kristen went above and beyond sharing info on road conditions getting to the house. Super helpful and made the trip a.breeze. The location on the beach was fantastic, and the house was clean and comfortable. We loved the outdoor seating area and the pool. It is a great place to relax at the end of the day. Walter is a gem and made sure we had everything we needed, including a beautiful kayak and snorkeling trip right right from the beach at the house. highly recommend the Merry Mermaid, Kristen, and Walter.

Kristin was always responsive and helpful. Walter who managed the property was really friendly, answered all of our questions and helped keep the property in top shape, especially with the thunderstorms that rolled through the last 2 days we were there. It was a great experience, would stay there again!

We are locals living in San Jose and went for the weekend with one of our daughters and her husband. Kristin was very helpful and accommodating with a very early checkin as we left SJ very early to avoid long weekend traffic. Very good internet and my daughter had no problem working on the Friday. The location was lovely and the main reason for staying on the beach because we had my daughter’s puppy with us 😊. It is a lovely area and very quiet and peaceful beach area. The beds are very comfortable. On the downside I think it was a little expensive and you could be unlucky with who you have to share the pool area with as the 2 front houses are very close together.

This space was amazing, the house was spacious and clean. We had 5 people comfortably in the space and probably could have fit 2 more! The beach was steps away and so so nice! Loved the local vibe and the beach access the most. We were able to walk to shopping and there were also great dining options that were very close. The caretaker was super helpful and responsive as well.

Great Costa Rica vacation with our family of 5 - with 3 teenagers. Kristin’s communication was wonderful. Walter on site is a gem. Super helpful helping us set up activities, including a great morning kayaking and snorkeling trip with him right from our beachfront home! You can walk down the beach to a beachfront restaurant and other good ones are a very short drive. We made breakfast at home and ate out for all other meals. The pool is wonderful, the birds are entertaining. All right on the beach. Highly recommend Tres Mermaids!

This is a great place for rest and relaxation. Direct access to the beach. Also, the location is very close to several other bigger beach towns so if you have a car you can do some great exploring up and down the Costa Rica coast. Walter (the caretaker) was amazing.

The BEST location and adorable homes. The caretaker Walter, really made the stay even better! He’s on property, has amazing knowledge of the area and guided fishing tours! We met a couple in one of the units, they have been coming back to this spot multiple times! We shared lunch of fresh as the ocean mahi mahi! One of our favorite meals! We had 5 adults 30-60years, and we all loved the walking distance to restaurants, we had a rental car for store trips, and exploring other beaches around the area… we all thought Kristen’s 3 mermaids was the best Sunset spot for 5 nights of heaven!! The kitchen has all you need to cook, huge fridge, sparkling clean everything, including pool! Monkeys visited, the beach is clean and calm. We’ll be back!! Pura Vida🦋🌈🌞
