Standard room with a/c in Ostional Turtle Lodge.

Nice place to stay. The place was clean and in an excellent location very close to the turtles.

A block away from the beach and the turtle action! Room was big and shower too! Grout a little discolored but I have that problem in my shower too and we tried everything on it. Great restaurant across the street (on a diagonal). Had pollo relleno (their delicious version of chicken cordon bleu) that had a creamy sauce with bacon. Another meal I had was shrimp in a garlic sauce- again delicious. They also have pizza I wanted to try but not enough days to do so

Die Unterkunft war super wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt auch die Gastgeber waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir müssen nur eine Sache ankreiden uns wurde die Schildkröten Tour mit Gilberto empfohlen und die Tour war eine Katastrophe. Wir sind im Dunkeln über den Strand gehetzt, der Guide ließ uns teilweise kommentarlos alleine stehen, hat nicht auf die Gruppe geachtet. Es hieß der Guide spreche englisch aber er verstand keine einzige unserer Fragen und erklärte auch nichts. Wir haben zwar am Ende eine Schildkröte gesehen und konnten unsere Fragen dann dem Guide der anderen Gruppe stellen da eine Kommunikation mit Gilberto nicht möglich war. Das selbe war am nächsten Morgen für die Baby Schildkröten es hieß Gilberto kann nicht selbst anwesend sein es komme aber ein englisch-sprechender Guide. Dies war wieder nicht der Fall. Wir gingen mit Spanischem Guide an den Strand, ohne Erklärung oder irgendwas und nach einer Stunde holte sie uns wieder zurück. Unterkunft 👍🏽 Tour 👎🏽👎?

We primarily wanted to watch the little baby turtles in Ostional. So we found this beautiful place at Louis’ Ostional Turtle Lodge & requested the tree house beforehand. You can walk by foot to the beach, approx. 5 to 10 Minutes. We were recommended a local guided tour with Gilberto. From our experience we can recommend the morning tour with the baby turtles. (The night tour was just a rush on the beach in the dark with no lights & people got nearly abandoned.) There was a coffee machine and some coffee provided in the room, also AC. There was no hair dryer, but because of the warmth even long hair could dry quite well. Every day the bin got emptied and we got dry towels, which we really appreciated in the tropical warmth and humidity. The roads are extremely rough & bumpy to get to Ostional & you have to drive these to get to Nosara, the next town, where all the good restaurant options & supermarkets are. Bring food and drinks with you as there is nothing much in Ostional itself.

Exactly what we needed! Great location, nice AC for these Okies, hot water on demand! The walk to the turtle beach was 5 minutes and super easy. They cleaned everyday and replaced towels and trash. We will definitely stay here again if we attend another arribada! Only note I’d give to travelers is breakfast in town is scarce. One soda, almost everywhere else opens at 11 am.

Recommend Luis’s place. We were there in september to see the arribada abd his place was at 5’ walking to the beach. We recommend Gilberto for the turtle tour who is very passionate and has been working on protecting these for 45 years. The space was clean, quiet and cozy.

This is a great little basic hotel close to where the turtles come for their great arrubadas, Granted, we are not allowed on the beach during the times of their arrivals, but Luis helped us find a guide to see them for an hour or so. Luis and his wife were very helpful, and we liked them a lot. The rooms were adequate, clean, and had A/C. There was also a little fridge in the room. We saw some beautiful birds, which was a plus. We would return if we decide to go to Ostional again.
