Property management didn’t speak English. Tried to charge us additional $50 for check in after 8pm. We told them about the rain and road conditions several times in the afternoon and our estimated arrival time by around 7:30pm. They didn’t listen. We arrived at 7:50pm but couldn’t find the location. There was only sporadic cell service. It was dark and no guide for leading us to the house. We drove through a graveled road through the jungle in the dark looking for signs. No luck to find the airbnb. At this point we decided to drive around to find cell phone reception to reach the property management. Somewhere, somehow we found a spot in the jungle (total darkness) to make a call. That really didn’t help much, but my daughter said she has gps functionality on her phone that might help us for a minute. After a while (now around 8:50pm) and taking all kind of roads we found the property by poor luck. The place is absolutely stunning but very hard to get to without proper guidance.

Leider erfuhren wir erst 2 Tage vor Ankunft vom Gastgeberwechsel. Die als professionell angepriesene Hausverwaltung entpuppte sich als Reinfall. Es gab eine unpersönliche Begrüßung durch einen ausschließlich spanisch sprechenden Mitarbeiter, der uns in 5 Minuten oberflächlich das Haus zeigte. Es gab kein Gastgebergeschenk, nicht einmal Wasser im Kühlschrank… Als am ersten Tag der Strom für 14 stunden ausfiel, mussten wir erst bis zum nächsten Tag auf die Bürozeiten der Hausverwaltung warten, bis diese den Stromausfall melden konnte. Wir hätten das Haus niemals gebucht, wenn wir gewusst hätten, dass es zu dem Wechsel beim Gastgeber kommt. Wir setzen seit Jahren auf die persönliche Betreuung durch private Gastgeber und sind bisher nie enttäuscht worden. Dass uns das nun bei unserem ersten Besuch in Costa Rica passiert war, hat uns schon etwas geärgert. Ich denke, die schöne Villa wird nun nicht mehr so gute Bewertungen erhalten, wie sie sie in der Vergangenheit bekam… Schade!

Bowie’s place was great! Wouter was a great co-host very helpfully over our stay even made a reservation for a great restaurant down the street Gustos! Kids loved the pool and the views from the porch are amazing. We sent many hours sitting on the porch watching monkeys and birds. We would definitely recommend it to others. 5Stars

We had a wonderful time. Compared to other Airbnb house with similarly great views of the Pacific, the road to get there wasn’t too bad and it was paved at least half way. Playa Hermosa and other attractions are very nearby. We watched the most stunning sunsets from the house. You are high up and can see the tree canopy from above which is beautiful. Overall better than expected.

I cannot say enough good things about our stay! To begin with, the home itself is STUNNING and had absolutely incredible views. We were able to hear & spot howler monkeys up in the trees while walking along the river on the property and saw toucans one evening from the balcony. Bowie himself was so accommodating and was there for our check in and check out. He gave us the rundown and tour of the home and provided some great recommendations of restaurants and things to do around the area. You do NOT need 4x4 to get to the airbnb, however, our first night google maps took us down a road with a steep hill that we were not comfortable driving down at night so we decided to leave our vehicle and walk 15 mins back to the airbnb. The next morning Bowie was kind enough to give us a ride to our vehicle and assured us it was safe to drive down. He pointed us to the routes that were partially paved, which we used the rest of our trip. Overall our stay was 10/10! Thank you again Bowie!

Beautiful place with spectacular views and a great kitchen for cooking meals. The checkout was very early-9am- Otherwise we had a great stay and appreciated Wouter providing useful info on local restaurants and surf school. We enjoyed our stay!

The view from the patios was priceless! We saw many parrots, Tucans, and monkeys! The pool was perfect and clear! We loved staying here!

La maison de Bowie va vous laisser le souffle coupé. Vous aurez le choix entre 3 terrasses pour admirer la jungle avec l’océan à l’horizon. Le soleil se couche pile face à vous. On se croirait dans un film tellement cet endroit est paradisiaque. Bowie a par ailleurs été un hôte extrêmement aidant, réactif et sympathique. Je pourrais en dire encore beaucoup de qualités mais Airbnb va me limiter à ces lignes ;-) Merci Bowie !
