The Space
Casa Verde is a two-story, open-air beach house offering a serene retreat. From this cozy getaway, you can enjoy ocean views on one side and tropical rainforests on the other, visible both indoors and outdoors.
This elevated, modern wooden home includes a wraparound furnished lanai, a private spring-fed pool, and beautifully landscaped grounds. Beach access is just a few steps away.
The house generates its own electricity through solar panels and stores surplus power in on-site batteries. A 4x4 vehicle is required year-round to access the property.
Please note that there are no nearby stores or supermarkets, so guests should bring their own food and groceries.
Location and Nearby Attractions
The area offers a variety of outdoor activities such as fishing, hiking, cycling, jungle zip-lining, and white water rafting.
You can take a short walk to King Louis Waterfall, located just steps from the property, or join a guided jungle tour to observe native wildlife including monkeys, anteaters, and macaws.
Local beaches provide ample opportunity for sunbathing, while experienced surfers can take on the challenging waves along the Osa Peninsula’s coastline.
For dining, the restaurant Encanta La Vida is conveniently located just over two miles up the coast.

This home is SUPER lovely. The area of Cabo Matapalo in general is really lovely and full of nature’s best, and this home allows you to be fully immersed in it all. It’s right on the ocean, the gardens are lovely, and we were treated to macaws, howler monkeys, and many other animals and birds throughout our weekend stay. Joel was a very kind and helpful host - we felt very comfortable reaching out to him for anything we needed, and he responded quickly and helpfully every time. It was hard to leave this spot as we all felt so peaceful there. I hope to return one day. (Quick heads-up that the road along the beach is ROUGH and you definitely need a 4x4. Having high clearance is important also, as there are some points where our car couldn’t help but scrape larger rocks/obstacles embedded in the road. This will be true of any place you stay in the area if you are along the beach road)

Ce fut un plaisir de séjourner à CasaVerde. Joel s’est montré très disponible pour nous et il nous a montré le chemin pour aller au chute d’eau qui sont à un quart d’heure de marche de la maison. La vue sur l’océan est à couper le souffle. Si vous aimez l’esprit Robinson Crusoé de luxe au bout du monde, vous êtes au bon endroit. Merci pour votre accueil

Casa Verde was 10/10, 100% beautiful. The house is basically on the water so you fall asleep to the sound of the waves. The location is pretty much at the end of the line and is ultra private and I would recommend this to anyone looking for a getaway in Matapalo.

Mi familia y yo la pasamos genial en casa verde, un lugar hermoso con vista al mar y rodeado de naturaleza , la zona es genial salimos a caminar mientras avanza puedes observar monos, lapas, colibrí etc y si eres amantes del surf el lugar es perfecto. super recomendado... y Joel el encargado super servicial y siempre está para cualquier inquietud. Gracias.

What a wonderful experience! We had some mishaps with our rented car but Joel was more than helpful in assisting us. The house was perfect, the breezy beachfront was definitely a plus when the weather was humid and great for viewing the wildlife (monkeys, toucans, macaws, coatis, lizards, etc). The surrounding gardens were beautiful and well-kept which added to the already spectacular landscape. The only advice we have is if you choose to bring groceries, ensure to enclose them well— coatis are no strangers to supermarket baguettes. When we return to Costa Rica, we will definitely be staying here again. Pura vida!

Nos encantó todo de la casa! Su entorno, las comidades y la playa que está Justo en frente a la casa. Joel y su familia siempre atentos a todo lo que necesitamos y súper amables! Vamos a extrañar ese lugar y seguro en algún momento volveremos!
