The Nangu lodge consists of 3 self-catering units in a private garden that each has a bedroom with a Jacuzzi area. The Nangu lodge is located on the wheel of Santo Domingo in a quiet and peaceful place in the middle of nature where you will have the opportunity to see monkeys, hummingbirds and other animals. Located 1.5 km from downtown Samara and its beach where you will find bars, restaurants and various shops ,playa carrillo is 3.5 km away. The space you are staying in a cottage equipped with a kitchen, a bathroom and a fully open double bed on the terrace where you will find your hot tub. Other things to note no parties or events and for the respect of everyone to put the sound of the music at a sound level that respects everyone and within a reasonable timeframe.

Es war so wie erwartet wunderschön! Ruhig, im Garten. Ein schön möbliertes Zimmer und wunderbarer Balkon mit Whirlpool! Absolut zu empfehlen

Perfect place to crash for a few nights in Sámara. It is a 3km walk or 30 minutes to the city centre, fine for some exercise but not for someone with mobility issues, would need a car. Nice patio with a tub and sounds of nature at night.

2eme fois au Nangu lodge et toujours un vrai bonheur. C’est joli, cosy, simple, bien pensé et confortable. Avoir les singes, écureuils, papillons de toutes les couleurs et autres comme voisins c’est fantastique. J’aime cet endroit et les hôtes sont absolument formidables. Je m’y sens comme à la maison, vous aussi certainement si vous y venez !

Wir hatten einen angenehmen Aufenthalt. Die Unterkunft ist etwas abseits des Dorfes/Strand und ein Auto ist klar von Vorteil. Die Unterkunft entspricht den Bildern und die Küche ist super ausgestattet - Highlight ist ganz klar der tolle Whirlpool, aus welchem wir die Affen in den Bäumen beobachten konnten. Einziges kleines „Manko“ ist die Baustelle gegenüber - teilweise wurde dort bereits ab 06:00 Morgens gearbeitet, auch am Wochenende. Die Gastgeber waren freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Laurent was great, responsive and kind. I am giving a slightly lower review due to circumstances outside of Laurents control (unfortunately). The house just below the property had noisy tenants who blasted music later at night and then there was construction workers on another property that blasted music during the day (I wanted to take a nap during the peak heat of the day). This is completely outside of the owners control so I feel bad even reviewing the property like this. Other thing that I didn't think would be an issue but became one was that the treehouse is open air (I absolutely knew this prior to my stay), so you can't close windows to outside noise, obviously no air conditioning, and you hear the howlers in the morning (which again I was well aware about, but they were very very loud at 5am). I likely wouldn't stay in this property again because of the concept of the house, with the open air, even with screens there was a lot of ants that got in.

Nous avons passé 3 nuits dans ce beau logement. La baie vitrée qui s'ouvre entièrement et la grande terrasse avec Jacuzzi sont trés appréciables. Il y a en effet quelques bruits aux alentours (voisinages, voitures et singes hurleurs) vous ne serez donc pas seuls perdus en pleine nature mails celà n'a pas été gênant pour nous. Le logement est un peu à l'écart du centre de Samara et il est préférable d'avoir une voiture pour y séjourner. Laurent et Andréa nous ont acceuillis en personne avec grande gentillesse et nous ont donné plein de bons conseils sur les environs. Encore merci :)

Great spot. Loved the jacuzzi and the view was primo. You definitely need a car if you're renting here, but it's not too bad

Leider muss man die ganzen positiven Bewertungen differenziert betrachten. Natürlich war die Begrüßung sehr freundlich und die Unterkunft etwas besonderes, aber bei den momentan hohen Temperaturen (35 Grad und 29 Grad nachts) konnten wir die ganze Nacht nicht ein Auge zumachen. Da es keine Klimaanlage gibt (was uns bei der Buchung nicht aufgefallen ist) und der wichtige Ventilator über dem Bett laut wackelte und nicht brauchbar war, mussten wir aufgrund der Hitze alle Türen und Fenster über Nacht offen halten. Niemand erwähnte hier, dass direkt vor dem Haus eine Schotterstrasse verläuft und die ganze Nacht Motorräder, Quads und ab 5 Uhr morgens LKWs die Straße hochdonnern, als würden sie durchs Schlafzimmer fahren. Die spärliche Ausstattung ( kein Wasserkocher oder Toaster) und dreckige Tassen rundeten dann das Bild ab. Leider bekamen wir von Laurent keinerlei Verständnis für die a Situation und brachen nach einer Nacht ab und verloren somit zwei bezahlte Nächte. Sehr schade.

Die Unterkunft von Laurent und seiner Frau war sehr ruhig in den Hügeln von Samara gelegen und für unseren Aufenthalt perfekt. Besonders hat uns die große Glasfront auf den Balkon gefallen. In nur 6 Minuten konnten wir mit dem Auto in Samara oder Playa Carillo sein.

Lovely stay with very friendly and helpful hosts. The property had everything you needed and the beautiful balcony and hot tub made it very special. Recommendations from host really helped make our stay enjoyable and Samara is one of our favourite places in Costa Rica.
