The Space

Villa Helena de Hermosa is a spacious vacation rental home near the beach in Playa Hermosa, Puntarenas province. It offers a private tropical retreat ideal for large family gatherings or friend reunions. The villa accommodates up to thirteen guests in five bedrooms with regular beds.

Guests can enjoy shared moments around a beautiful courtyard pool and terrace while having private spaces to relax after a day of adventure.

The villa features Spanish mission-style architecture with arched wood windows, exposed wood beams, decorative wrought iron, ceramic tile countertops, terracotta floor tiles, natural stone walls and floors, and tiled roofs. This design creates an elegant and charming atmosphere that blends seamlessly with the surroundings.

Inside, the villa is furnished with solid wood pieces that reflect a Costa Rican-Spanish colonial theme and decorated with Latin American crafts and artwork. Modern conveniences include Wi-Fi, air conditioning throughout, and two washer/dryer sets for added comfort.

The central courtyard is the highlight of the property, featuring a private pool bordered by wood and concrete columns supporting covered decks on both sides. This area is perfect for lounging, dining, swimming, or relaxing in the sun or shade. Amenities include:

• Two hammocks for relaxing

The indoor living spaces and bedrooms surround the courtyard and are arranged in three separate buildings with independent entrances. Each building has high ceilings with exposed wood beams:

Front House

Located nearest to the carport, the Front House includes:

• Two bedrooms
• A living area with a couch facing a smart LED TV
• A small kitchen equipped with a refrigerator, coffee maker, and microwave
• A workspace nook with a desk and printer

One bedroom has a queen bed, a large closet, and a smart LED TV, adjacent to a full bathroom with a shower. The other bedroom contains a twin bunk bed and a full bed. Another full bathroom with a shower is nearby on the tower’s ground floor, accessible from the courtyard and suitable for guests staying in the Front House.

River House

Situated on the opposite side of the courtyard behind a corridor with rocking chairs and a gas barbecue grill, the River House features:

• A great room with the villa’s main kitchen and living area
• A fully equipped kitchen with a breakfast bar, decorated with hand-painted yellow ceramic tiles on the counter and backsplash
• A spacious living room centered around a 40-inch smart LED TV with comfortable sofas and rocking chairs

The two bedrooms in the River House have king and queen beds respectively. They share a large bathroom with a bathtub and shower combination. Both bedrooms offer ample closet space and individual smart LED TVs.

Studio Tower

The Studio is the only bedroom on the second floor, accessible via a covered metal spiral staircase with wrought iron railings. It includes:

• One large bedroom with a king and a twin bed
• A smart LED TV
• An ensuite full bathroom with a shower
• A kitchenette with a small fridge, coffee maker, and microwave

Location

Villa Helena is conveniently located near beaches suitable for surfing and swimming. It is close to the towns of Hermosa, Jacó, and Esterillos, which offer a wide variety of dining and shopping options.

The villa is situated within the gated community of Opera Salvaje, which has a single controlled-access point with 24/7 manned security. High walls enclose the property, ensuring privacy and safety.

Playa Hermosa is a picturesque beach village famous for its world-class surf breaks and breathtaking Pacific Ocean views, especially at sunset. Surfers will appreciate the proximity to top surfing spots and the secure space on the property to store boards without bringing them indoors.

The villa offers easy paved access to the beach, restaurants, and shops within a 5-minute drive. The towns of Jacó and Esterillos Oeste, with additional dining, shopping, and outdoor activities, are reachable within 15 minutes by car.

Policies and Additional Information

• Loud parties are not allowed. Outdoor music and noise are permitted during the day at reasonable volumes but must be minimized between 10 pm and 8 am to avoid disturbing neighbors.
• Pricing includes the legally mandated 13% sales tax for vacation rentals in Costa Rica.
• The base rate covers up to 10 guests. Additional guests aged 3 and older incur a fee of US$25 plus fees and tax per person per night, which is automatically added.
• Up to five children under 3 years old stay free of charge.
• Maximum occupancy is thirteen guests aged 3 and older or five single adults.
• Unregistered visitors are allowed as long as the maximum occupancy is not exceeded. All visitors must present valid ID at the security checkpoint without exception.

Pet Policy

• Only quiet dogs are permitted.
• A pet fee of US$25 plus VAT per stay per dog applies.
• This fee does not cover any damages caused by pets.
• Dogs are not allowed to swim in the pool or climb on beds or furniture.
• Pets must be leashed when outside.
• Owners are responsible for collecting and properly disposing of pet waste.
• The pet fee is collected after full payment via a money request through Airbnb.

Additional Services

• Pack ’n Play/travel cribs and baby highchairs are available for rent at US$5 per day or US$30 per week each. Advance notice is required to reserve these items.
