The Space
This fully furnished luxury home features four bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms, situated on five acres of beautiful Costa Rican hillside. The area enjoys cool, refreshing air and numerous trails to explore. The property attracts a variety of birds and wildlife, thanks to its abundance of fruit trees, tropical plants, and flowers. From the garden, you can admire the Diamante Waterfall, one of the tallest waterfalls in Costa Rica.
The main level boasts cathedral ceilings and an open, airy layout with large windows throughout. The higher elevation ensures comfortable, moderate temperatures, and ceiling fans in every room provide additional cooling. A spacious deck wraps around the west side of the house, overlooking the jungle canopy.
Adjacent to the deck is a large, shallow pool featuring a swim-up bar with stools and a waterslide that drops into a deeper pool below. The expansive, fully equipped kitchen includes a social breakfast bar next to the open dining area, perfect for gatherings. The cozy living room offers ample seating and an entertainment center with a 60-inch flat-screen television.
On the east side of the home, the master bedroom includes a king-size bed, a bathroom with a full-size shower, and direct access to the pool area. The west side houses a double bedroom with two twin beds and plenty of dresser space, ideal for children or friends, with views of both the jungle and pool.
The lower level functions like a separate apartment, featuring a large kitchenette, two bathrooms, and two bedrooms—one with a king bed and the other with a queen bed—as well as a pullout couch. Both bedrooms open directly onto the lower pool area.

Sehr schönes und grosses Haus in wunderschöner Natur. Es gibt viele verschiedene Orte, wo man sich gemütlich aufhalten kann. Ein Highlight sind die 2 Pools mit der Rutschbahn. Die Kinder und auch wir Erwachsenen hatten viel Spass damit. Ein paar kleinere Dinge sollten mal repariert werden, z.B. funktionierten einige Lampen und in einem Schlafzimmer der Deckenventilator nicht. Dies war aber nicht weiter schlimm und wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Wir waren 7 Erwachsene und 2 Kinder und mit den vier Schlafzimmern und vielen Badezimmer war das Haus wirklich perfekt für uns. Wir können einen Aufenthalt dort jederzeit empfehlen.

We just finished an incredible week-long stay at this amazing house in Dominical, and it truly exceeded every expectation. The home was beautiful, comfortable, and perfectly set up for relaxing after full days of exploring. The pool was a highlight, super fun, refreshing, and the perfect gathering spot for our family. The location couldn’t have been better. It gave us the perfect home base while we visited Manuel Antonio, Uvita, and the surrounding beaches and towns. We loved being close enough to everything while still feeling peaceful, private, and surrounded by nature. This place felt really special, with thoughtful touches, great views, and a sense of calm we’ll miss. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Alvin's double-pool house is fabulous. Spacious and with its own unique style, it was so relaxing. There were so many places to hang out: the balcony, by the pools, bar areas. We absolutely loved sitting under the awning, enjoying the view over a coffee (espresso maker was a bonus!) or beer. Our teenagers loved the separate basement area, and the mini-slide. Properly in Costa Rica's rich nature - we saw an ant-eater, iguana, hummingbird, woodpecker and more - but also clean and with home comforts. Strongly recommend staying at Alvin's place if you are visiting Dominical. It took us 15 minutes to get to the town, and the turn in and out of the driveway is a challenge but you get used to it and generally people drive pretty slowly so all fine. Our favourite beach was Playa Hermosa (30 mins away) rather than Dominical and Dominicalito (the latter was quite rocky). It's a wonderful house: charming and loaded up with bathrooms! Thank you so much.

This is exactly what we needed for this family vacation. 3 generations all together and we had the best time. The kids loved the pools and the slide that went from one pool to the other. It was the highlight of their night. Mattresses were comfy and we even had a visitor dog.

Absolutely fantastic! if it's your first time in CR, you must stay at Casa Sophia because there is no other place like it! it's great for multiple guests and definitely perfect for two families. If you've visited CR before, this place is like nowhere else. The pool feels warm, not ice cold, and the double pool and slide was just as much fun as some of the activities we booked. There's gringo plumbing with hot water throughout the house, no suicide showers and compared to most, they actually have soft mattresses!

We loved Costa Amor, which is well located, well maintained, safe and private, and has lots of amenities (pool, a grandparent/teen "apartment" below the main villa, full kitchen, beautiful greenery for birdwatching). It was a wonderful place from which to visit Nauyaca waterfall, beaches, Ojochal, and other spots. Alvin was a wonderful host, who was very quick to respond to our questions. We called him to get directions (there is no street address, so he described landmarks) and he gave us lots of tips for local attractions. The groundskeeper was also very helpful and friendly.
