We had the best time staying here! Our host John, was  beyond amazing seriously one of the coolest people we’ve ever met. He took us everywhere we wanted to go, even made a special trip to the store for us. 🙌🏼 Super kind, easygoing, and knowledgeable about Costa Rica. He gave us great tips on where to go, what to eat, and how to make the most of our trip. We felt safe, cared for, and totally welcomed. this is 100% the place stay. Thanks for having us, we enjoyed our stay. It was our last night in Costa Rica and made a good memory. Cari was a great cook, and a pleasure to talk with (curious, eager to learn, very friendly). We stayed until noon in the pool, it was great

Wonderful stay at Finca Chilanga! Beautiful views, great walking trails, and a peaceful setting all around. Their chef Karina was wonderful and her dinners were delicious!

We stayed for two nights to break up a long drive at the end of our trip as we headed back to the airport in San Jose. We were very pleased with our choice. The views are phenomenal and the pool is really lovely. We were traveling as a family of four, two adults, a 4 year old and a 1 year old. Our room was nicely set up with a crib for our littlest and a cot for our kid, and the unit is spacious enough that there was still plenty of space for us in there. We walked the trail on the property but it was a bit too much for our kids (unsurprisingly, given their young ages!) We drove to the nearby abandoned church and river swimming hole was we loved and gave us a nice opportunity for our kids to play with locals. We had a great meal at Casa Victoria in San Mateo, which we highly recommend to those staying on this property. We also visited the small Sunday (tourist/expat-oriented) market "Mercado de la Tierra" near San Mateo, which we thought was really lovely.

Villa Chilanga and the property surrounding it was a dream. If you’re looking for a peaceful stop on your Cost Rican vacation, this is the place! The property manager John was very kind, helpful and responsive! Breakfast is included in your stay which is a great perk being in a more remote area. I highly recommend at least doing one night where you can pay extra for them to cook you dinner. Karina made us a beer can chicken that roasted on the grill for hours. It was outstanding! (And it was enough to have lunch leftovers before our flight the next day). We really enjoyed exploring the beautiful 130 acre property, relaxing by the pool and playing with all the sweet dogs that live at this property. All in all we had a wonderful time!

We arrived in the dark and woke up in the morning to howler monkeys and sunrise. And a beautiful view. The room is very nice and the bed is very comfortable. We enjoyed a large delicious breakfast while chatting with the host and his lovely girlfriend. We did not spend much time at Finca Chilanga but the atmosphere is very friendly and relaxed.
