The Space
Villa Picaflora is a small gated property situated at the summit of the mountain within the protected forest reserve of Cerro de Atenas. The villa is surrounded by panoramic views of mountains, lush vegetation, and flowering trees. It is located 2 kilometers from downtown.
The house showcases tropical Balinese architecture with open floor plans and terraces encircling the entire home. The property includes:
- Three bedrooms
- Two bathrooms
- A mezzanine area (not a fourth bedroom)
- A small casita available for groups of six or more
- A guest house available upon request for parties exceeding eight people (additional $75 cleaning fee applies)
There is no cable TV service. Security cameras monitor the parking area and main entrance. Parking includes two car spaces, with room for one car in the main parking area; a second car requires prior approval to confirm fit.
Guest Access
Guests receive a gate code and a remote control to enter the property.
Additional Information
- The property is ideal for yoga retreats.
- If the rental does not include the guest house but guests wish to use it before check-in, an additional $60 cleaning fee applies.
- Guests agree to dispose of garbage by taking it to the condominium bins located outside the main door at the street level.
- For larger groups, parking is limited to two car spaces.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was much better stocked with towels, utensils, etc. than most Airbnb's. Everything we could ever need was there. It is a nice private little hide away that was exactly what we wanted. That being said it is a quick 5 minute drive to super markets. I would recommend to other people.

Una casa buen bonita en las montañas de Atenas. Espacios amplios y cómodos. Zona residencial privada por lo que se recomienda para viajes familiares o de trabajo tranquilos. Muy atentos para los servicios de apoyo. Cocina totalmente equipada, parrilla exterior. Piscina muy bonita así como los espacios de jardín y terrazas. Manejar con cautela dentro del condominio pues la calle es angosta. Centro de Atenas a 10-15 minutos en automóvil. Camas cómodas pero son de colchones suaves, por aquello si alguna persona tiene problemas de espalda o cadera, tenerlo presente.

A beautiful house, amazing views and just lovely. The kitchen has absolutely everything you need, the pool is great, we were 6 and didn't feel crowded. We had a wonderful weekend close to San José. I highly recommend it!
