The Space

Directions
If traveling from San Jose, Arenal, Monteverde, or Tenorio:
- Take Route #1 north to Bagaces.
- From Bagaces, follow Route 164 to Guayabo.
- Do not follow GPS directions to "camino a San Jorge."
- Instead, drive through Guayabo. After crossing the single-lane bridge, turn left onto Carretera Santamaria.
- Continue 12 kilometers along the paved road; the last kilometer is gravel but drivable.

Nice secluded place to visit the area around Rincon de la vieja. The staff is really friendly and helpful in organising activities. The appartement in the hacienda is spacious and has marvellous views. The pools offer a perfect relaxing place after walking the volcano trails nearby.

This is possibly the most under sold place I’ve ever found on Airbnb. This is a total gem. My traveling companion was a little worried when she read the description of the place and it saying it was not a resort and a working ranch. But we were so pleasantly surprised when we got there! Everything was super clean and new feeling. Prices were incredibly reasonable for what it was. The drive there was a bit much, there’s 8 ish miles of a gravel, pothole filled dirt road. But worth it to find the ranch at the end. Do yourself a favor and let Jorge’s staff make the meals. They listened well to our preferences and the meals were amazing! Will definitely come back!

We stayed two nights at Vida Adventure. Jorge’s staff was friendly and quick to help us with new arrangements as I had made a mistake and thought our room had air conditioning. Horseback riding was fun and the pool was awesome. We enjoyed both nights going down the slide and admiring the country side. We ate dinner there one night too, and it was delicious! Beds were comfortable and room was clean with all necessities. WiFi was hit and miss which made it hard to plan for upcoming tours, so just plan ahead as we have found it’s not uncommon to have no service in some areas. It is a ways out from any store but that’s what makes it so special. We definitely recommend Jorge’s ranch.

Everything in his description is accurate. The only issue we had was that there was a lot of insects inside the house. The day the lights went out, we called Jorge he came to restore it but during that time a lot more insects appeared. It was an infestation that we couldn’t sleep in the rooms. We all slept in the living room. I understand it’s nature and hard to control/don’t want to harm the environment but it’s something that he should look into at least to keep them out the house or let alone minimize the amount of them. Last thing the pool is a 2/3 min walk. Overall the house, instructions he gives, and advice is pretty accurate. He’s also a very good host!

Jorge ist ein total netter Gastgeber, unsere Kinder waren verliebt in seine beiden lieben und wohlerzogenen Hunde. Die Wohnung war sehr einfach und zweckmässig, begeistert haben uns die Pools und die Rutsche, die Ruhe und die Landschaft.
