Location
Casa Colina is located within Balcones de Majagual, 12 kilometers north of San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua. The property sits in a wildlife corridor, offering daily opportunities to observe local animals such as monkeys and sloths from your porch. During certain seasons, guests may also spot humpback whales offshore.
A four-wheel-drive vehicle with high clearance is necessary to navigate the local roads and access nearby beaches and surf spots, including the renowned San Juan del Sur surf area.

Tolle Unterkunft, magische Lage und sehr viel Natur. Leider war es super windig und dadurch das keine Glasfenster sind, war es Nachts so laut, dass wir nicht schlafen konnten :/ wäre wichtig in der Beschreibung einzufügen oder vorher Bescheid geben. Sonst ist die Unterkunft eine tolle Möglichkeit, um für sich zu sein und die Natur zu genießen. Auf jeden Fall mit einen 4x4 Auto fahren. Wir sind zuerst mit unseren Motorrädern Honda Navi gefahren und wir sind angekommen, aber wir haben uns schnell entschieden ein Auto zu mieten.

Amazing stay at Casa Colina, stunning house with a clean pool and super responsive staff. The location was ocean accessible via a 10 minute drive and the pool a 2 minute walk from the house. Please note that in addition to 4 wheel drive being absolutely necessary, strong driving skills and calm nerves are super helpful in reaching the house. That being said, completely worth it for the view, hot water, house aesthetics, and accessibility to playa maderas. Visit cafe machete for brunch!!

Incredible experience in the Jungle! Close to beaches and restaurants if you have some sort of transportation. Bugs were not bad at all and there was a very nice breeze.

Thanks to the whole team at Balcones for making our stay as smooth as possible. It was lovely to see friendly faces each time we went out. The house is pretty unique and matches the description. It’s inside/outside living which is truly special in the middle of the rainforest. Having a regular cleaner helped a lot as you need to keep it clean so as not to attract animals. The grounds of Balcones are beautiful, with the sounds of the jungle literally on your doorstep. The pool is beautiful though bring mosquito spray. The kids had a lot of fun spotting animals and birds. And the easy access to Playa Majagual is fantastic- just a 3 min drive down. Great to have all the modern facilities in the middle of the jungle.

I can’t speak highly enough of Laura’s place. We had the most wonderful stay and experience. The rental is exactly as described and depicted…in fact it’s better! The views from the property are phenomenal and the pool being just a short walk away provides the perfect way to cool off after a day at the beach or hiking. The design of the property is also worth mentioning as it provides air flow and natural cooling which is very much needed in Nicaragua’s humidity. Aside from the property itself I also want to mention the complex private beach. Please make sure you spend time there during the day and of an evening to experience the phenomenal sunsets. We had the beach virtually to ourselves during the day and were able to make use of the beach club and the bar and restaurant. Don’t miss it! Finally a huge shout out to Laura and the team. Couldn’t have asked for a more responsive host. Nothing was too much trouble and due to the detailed instructions checkin and check out was a breeze
