Jungle Luxury, Surf & Plunge

La maison de Lyndsay était vraiment magnifique avec un design de rêve. Maison très bien entretenue et propre. Andy était super disponible pour toutes questions, besoins ou organisation. Le seul bémol est qu'il n'y avait pas d'air climatisée dans l'air de vie principale (juste dans les chambre) ce qui était inconfortable en pleine saison chaude.

Lindsay’s home is absolutely gorgeous. Everything is very chic yet functional. We came from Rancho so it was really nice to experience an area that felt more local and authentically Nica. The house is perched upon a hill overlooking two beaches and once you get the lay of the land it is super easy to walk down to either beach. If you enjoy surfing, Maderas has a soft/small wave in March/April. Albeit a little crowded during peak times it is easy to stagger your timing to avoid the surf school crowds that show up at high tide. Andy and Marjorie that run the house are so helpful while still giving you privacy and space. Marjorie is a fabulous cook. We loved the energy and pace of the area and the people. Lindsay is the most lovely host and is so helpful before and during your stay. We have stayed at many homes via Airbnb and she is quite possibly the best communicator we’ve encountered.

Our stay was absolutely wonderful. Our host, Lindsay, was truly exquisite—warm, accommodating, and attentive to every detail. Communication was seamless from start to finish, making the entire experience stress-free and enjoyable. The property itself is beautiful, thoughtfully designed, and impeccably maintained. It felt both comfortable and luxurious, and it exceeded our expectations in every way. I would highly recommend this host and property to anyone looking for a memorable and hassle-free stay in San Juan del Sur. We would gladly return!

Our stay at Casa Matilda in San Juan Del Sur (Villa Maderas) was absolutely fantastic. The house itself is beautiful, one of the nicest Airbnb’s we have ever stayed at. The house is a close walk to Playa Maderas and with the new paved road access to the other beaches is a matter of minutes. The house has stunning views of Playa Majagual and its location on top of a hill makes for a constant breeze that helps keep the house cool. Lindsay and Michael are excellent hosts and communicated with us clearly about every detail before and during our stay. They even arranged for us to have an onsite cook (Marjorie) to help with dinner. All the dishes she prepared were absolutely delicious. Please ask for her if you plan to stay here! Her help made the stay effortless and very enjoyable. We were also pleasantly surprised by how good the new roads are. The coastal highway has cut travel time from 30-40 minutes to some of the beaches to under 10-15 minutes. Casa Matilda is a must-stay with famil

If you are thinking of traveling to Nicaragua, you are already down for adventure . This area is not for people who are looking for all inclusive resorts and golf carts. Which is why we loved this place! Situated on top of a hill up a windy dirt road, the house is oriented to see sunrise, sunset and let the warm winds blow through. There is everything you need to cook, relax and relish the Nicaraguan days. Bands of howler monkeys passing through the branches above you, toucans and mapache coming to check you out while you have your morning coffee and check the swells from the deck. There is one main bedroom, one with a queen, one with four doubles and a separate ‘mother in law’ suite. All super comfortable with AC. Plenty of space for a group. Everyone at Playa Maderas beach and the local brekkie spot were amazing. If you love nature, beach, surf, dogs and outside-in house design, this is your paradise!

We had an absolutely unforgettable stay at this beautiful home — it was the perfect place for our family of four to enjoy a relaxing vacation in Nicaragua. From the moment we arrived, the space felt welcoming, comfortable, and exactly as described. The location is incredible — just a short stroll to one of the top surfing beaches in the area — and the close proximity to the beach was amazing for our teens, who took surf lessons every day and loved every minute of it. Lindsay’s recommendations were spot on and made our trip truly special. Every restaurant, activity, and beach she suggested ended up being a highlight, including have someone come and cook an authentic Nica meal for us at the house. The house itself was perfect for our family visiting from NYC — plenty of space, great indoor-outdoor living, and a lovely pool. We couldn’t have asked for a better home base for our Nicaraguan adventure. We’re already dreaming of our next stay here and can’t recommend it enough!

This home is very comfortable with gorgeous views. Beach on one side and jungle on the other. It’s well maintained, clean, and it was stocked with everything we needed. It was peaceful and the wifi worked great for our whole family. Lindsay was very communicative throughout our stay. We truly enjoyed our stay.

La maison de Lindsay est telle que décrite et même plus jolie que les photos selon moi. C’est un vrai petit paradis où il nous est possible de profiter de la nature en toute tranquillité loin de la foule de San Juan Del Sure. La proximité des plages de Marsella (wow pour le coucher du soleil) et Maderas est un grand plus. L’accès fut un peu compliqué dû à la nouvelle Caraterra Costañera mais cela n’a rien à voir avec la maison ni avec Lindsay. Cette route, une fois complétée sera un vrai bijou pour les accès entre plages ! La maison a tout ce qu’il vous faut pour cuisiner et profiter de l’endroit. L’employé s’occupant de la maison, Andy, fut d’une aide incroyable pour nous réserver des activités loin des foules et super fiables. La communication avec Lindsay fut parfaite. Rapide, détaillée et aidante. Cette maison est un bijou que nous recommandons fortement !

This place was absolutely amazing. We had very high expectations and it didnt disappoint. The photos online don’t do justice to the views you have in person, of the rock down on the ocean and the sunset. the short walk down to the beach is its own amazing experience down the stairway that opens up to the beach that’s has both private spots and also other spots with all the amenities at the restaurants. We had a blast, cheap surfboard rentals on the beach for our teenager while our toddler spent hours in the warm tide pools. The house itself is ergonomically designed so we could hang in the living room or be cooking in the kitchen while also keeping an eye on our daughter practicing learning how to swim in the pool. the house is beautiful and is set up so you can enjoy both scenes of the jungle in the back yard and the beach views from the front. Don’t skip the outdoor tub or shower. we made some great family memories here and wish we could have stayed a lot longer!

Lindsay was a wonderful and accomadationing host! We had the an amazing time! The property was beautiful and was just as perfect as what was in the pictures! The sunsets were so pretty! The cleaner that came everyday was very nice and kept the house and laundry in order. All the suggestions that Lindsay gave ahead of time were really helpful. We tried many of them! I can’t tell you how much we really loved it! It’s a beautiful home with a great host! Thank you for making our first time ever to Nicaragua special!
