The villa features a pool on the upper patio accompanied by a covered dining area. A distinctive, spacious, and completely private lower deck is accessible from both bedrooms, a unique feature within Canto del Mar. Reliable ocean and mountain breezes enhance the comfort throughout the property. High-speed internet is available for your convenience.
The villa is within walking distance to the beach, a local waterfall, and a restricted-access mountain ridge jungle hiking trail. The access road is suitable for two-wheel-drive vehicles. The gated community provides 24/7 security.
The Space
Upon entering Villa Playa Vista, you will find a private home with two bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The location offers a unique vantage point to watch and listen to the surf throughout the day and night.
The beach directly below is renowned for its picturesque setting, created by a peninsula extending into the ocean and an adjacent “Tree Island” accessible at low tide. Along the uninterrupted 1.7-mile palm-lined beach, you can observe the local fishermen’s anchorage and distinctive rock formations that add character to the shoreline.
The kitchen is well-equipped, allowing you to prepare meals using fresh local produce and fruits. The private pool invites relaxation, while the covered terrace provides ample outdoor living space, ideal for wildlife viewing, especially in the early morning.
Villa Playa Vista is the prototype for this gated community, which features round-the-clock security and occupies one of the best coastal viewpoints. Parking is plentiful.
The villa is ideal for two couples, with two identical master bedrooms furnished with king beds. Upon request, twin beds can replace the king beds in one or both rooms to accommodate different sleeping arrangements. It is also possible to add twin beds alongside the king beds to increase sleeping capacity, suitable for families willing to share close quarters. An inflatable queen bed is available for additional guests.
Rates are based on four occupants, with an additional charge of $10 per day for each person beyond four.

Hands down our favorite place we have ever stayed in Costa Rica. The sweeping views, the large decks, the breeze, the pool that stays nice and cool, and the location can't be beat, Walking distance to Dominicalito Bay and a gorgeous waterfall and swimming hole. We also loved Domincal, one of the friendliest and quaintest beach towns with great restaurants and a super laid back vibe. Dave went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and was super responsive. The house itself is open, bright, and airy with incredible views from every room. The decks off the bedrooms are a bonus as are the en suite bathrooms. Kitchen has everything you need. We were thinking about buying a place in Costa Rica and decided we'd rather rent Dave's place for the rest of our lives instead. Pura Vida!

Excellent house with amazing views! Loved the breeze throughout the house when all doors opened up! Didn’t feel like we needed the A/C until bedtime. Dave was very responsive to our needs. The pool was quite refreshing after a day of surfing and boogie boarding.

We had a wonderful time here. The view from the property is spectacular and the pool was very enjoyable. The property is located within a gated community and is only a few minutes drive from Dominical and local shops. Dave was very helpful from the first time I contacted him to book the property and then throughout our stay, offering advice and tips of places to visit. If you are looking for a secure and quite stay with amazing views, then this property is a must.

The ocean views and proximity to the beach were fantastic, and Dave was an attentive and knowledgeable host. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. The house is in poor condition and in need of repairs. Cleanliness was below expectations, with stained towels and bed sheets. The kitchen lacked basic supplies, and some of the available equipment was outdated and rusted. Additionally, the pool was smaller than expected.

We stayed for a week in January. The house is extremely comfortable. Large living/dining/kitchen room on top floor, connected to outside covered terrace with great ocean views and a small pool. 2 master bedrooms are a floor lower, each with full bathroom. A/C works great in whole house. There is a washer and dryer. Wifi is super fast over 350 mbps!The house is in a gated subdivision, adding a nice security level.The drive from the gate is about 400 meters steep hill up. It is paved, so a 2 WD car will make it, but if you have 4 people in a 2WD drive car, it would struggle. 4WD is always better in Costa Rica. Make sure to try the La Parcela restaurant 5 minutes away, it has the best food and ocean views. We ended up going for lunch 3 times. It is a popular spot for weddings too, so check the schedule in advance. On the beach, watch for some rocks underwater when walking in during low tide, they can be a bit sharp. The beach in Dominicalito is great, not many people, original nature.

Canto Del Mar is a beautiful gated community. The road leading up to #28 is slightly steep but not scary at all & doable. The landscaping is pristine. When you arrive at the condo, the breathtaking views of Playa Dominical are exquisite. The two bedrooms are downstairs, same size and both have attached large bathrooms, which isn’t always the case in Costa Rica. We had a slight issue with one of the AC units, but Dave was very quick to respond and handled everything beyond my expectations. Playa Dominico is a very short less than five minute drive. There are several restaurants to choose from in the main town. Dominical Sushi did not disappoint & was a favorite. Dominical is a favorite peaceful and Pura Vida destination….GO
