The Space
Reconnect with nature at this unique organic and medicinal off-grid farm, perfect for a few days or a longer stay. Enjoy starry nights and sunny days in a peaceful setting ideal for surfing, creative projects, nourishment, and inspiration from the beautiful apothefinca gardens. You may also have the opportunity to engage in healing sessions with your host, a yoga teacher and osteopath.
The two-bedroom cottage opens onto tranquil gardens where you can relax, explore, and learn about the fruit orchard, vegetable, and herb gardens. A nature reserve lies just beyond the property, offering chances to spot spider monkeys and coatimundis. The abundant birdlife and occasional visits from howler monkeys add to the serene atmosphere.
Indoors, the cottage features two bedrooms, each with an ensuite bathroom. The kitchen and living room sit between the bedrooms, with French doors in both bedrooms and the living area opening onto patios. An outdoor shower and a surf rack are available for guests traveling with boards.
Guest Access
Guests have full access to the entire five-acre property, including:
- A tropical orchard with mango, citrus, cacao, cinnamon, cashew, and other fruit trees
- Multiple pathways lined with three rows of edible and medicinal plants
- An organic vegetable garden cultivated using sustainable, nutrient-rich methods
- Local stingless honey bees living near the chickens
- Bird nests, monkeys, and two friendly dogs (they may bark initially but do not bite)
Your cottage includes a large patio, a private garden, and a dedicated parking area.
Additional Amenities and Services
Behind the mango trees, on the far side of the orchard, is the host’s property and healing arts studio. Guests are welcome to arrange private yoga classes and herbal medicine workshops with Lucy, the host.
Upon arrival, you will receive a warm welcome and a tour of the property. Each stay includes a complimentary Apothecary Bag filled with freshly picked organic produce.
Guests may inquire about on-site yoga classes held in the third-floor tree-view studio and one-on-one osteopathic treatments.

Relaxing and private location with very friendly host and cute dogs that come visit you everyday. In a secluded location so best if you have your own vehicle for visiting local beaches and getting groceries.

Staying at Apothefinca was a dream come true for our family. The guest house was an absolute gem, with so many little details that made our stay extra special. Lucy was very thoughtful and generous with her time, giving us a tour of the gardens and connecting us with local community to buy farm fresh eggs, sourdough bread, and more. My 5-year old daughter loved her dogs and chickens, and even got to hold some of the newly hatched chicks! I highly, highly recommend Lucy’s magical guest house to anyone who wants a nourishing and inspiring experience in Nicaragua.

Spacious, affordable, and comfortable cottage on Lucy’s beautiful farm in adorable Escamequita. Great location close to San Juan del Sur and several of Nicaragua’s best beaches. Lucy was extremely responsive, friendly, and helpful. We’ll be back!

Lucy’s place (as well as Lucy herself) was exceptional. She was very responsive. The house is beautiful. The dogs and the cat were so nice to have nearby. The environment was so peaceful but a quick drive to Escamequita, my favorite, magical, Nica village. Only regret is we couldn’t stay longer. Highly recommend!

Lucy’s finca is so unique and special. If you are looking for an authentic farm experience, in a very comfortable and chic house, Lucy’s is the place for you. Perks, she has excellent suggestions for adventures, massages, beaches, surf lessons and transportation. Escamequita is the cutest little pueblo nestled close to amazing beaches. It is authentic Nicaragua and a great place to use as a home base to explore. We will be back. Having a car is very useful when staying here. Lucy’s garden provides yummy food, beautiful flowers and even baby chicks!!! Such a wonderful farm and farmer!

Lucy's place is serene. Instantly calming albeit out of town. The section of dirt road is fine in a normal car. Lucy is absolutely awesome & delightful. She provided me with medicinal herbs for tea & salad straight from her garden. Lucy provides a unique form of Osteopathy healing & movement sessions which I highly recommend if wellness is on your agenda. Charmant logement au milieu de la nature paisible et reposant. Lucy est aux petits soins et nous a accueilli avec des produits de son jardin. Différentes plages sauvages à proximité. Petit paradis pour passer un bon moment au vert. Merci Lucy ! A recommander.

Lucy was very kind and helpful. The place is beautiful and peaceful. Perfect for a nice quiet stay surrounded by nature, and also close by car to some amazing beaches. Her dogs are so cute, we feel in love with them.
