Our family is delighted to host you in our home. We have chosen to share this space with those who appreciate being surrounded by ancient trees, beautiful gardens, and breathtaking views of the Central Valley. It is an ideal retreat for families or friends seeking to immerse themselves in vibrant nature. Perfect for adventurers and nature enthusiasts looking to escape the city.
The Space
The house is thoughtfully designed to harmonize with nature, reflecting a deep respect and love for the environment. Situated over 2,300 meters (7,546 feet) above sea level, the climate remains mild, ranging between 13°C and 18°C (55°F to 64°F). This location serves as a natural gateway to the protected Barva Volcano Lagoon area.
The social area is spacious, open, and inviting. At its heart is a fireplace, surrounded by large windows that open onto a terrace overlooking the forest. The terrace includes a covered barbecue area and an outdoor dining table.
The kitchen is large and fully equipped, complemented by the main indoor dining room.
On the ground floor, there are three bedrooms:
- María Bonita (Master Bedroom): Features a queen bed, a private bathroom designed with care, direct access to the terrace, and views of both the forest and Central Valley.
- El Roble and El Jardín: Both rooms are beautifully decorated to ensure a memorable stay. They share a full bathroom located between them.
Upstairs, you will find a semi-open loft-style bedroom with two wooden bunk beds crafted from local cypress. This level also includes a TV lounge with cable access and a full bathroom.
Guest Access
The property offers ample space filled with natural beauty. On the grounds, guests can enjoy:
- A small, crystal-clear waterfall
- A forest of centuries-old oak trees
- Exquisite gardens ideal for peaceful walks and quiet reflection
Additional Information
While any vehicle can reach the property, we recommend using a 4x4 or a high-clearance vehicle for a more comfortable journey.
Due to the high elevation, temperatures can become quite cool. We suggest bringing warm clothing, scarves, and closed-toe shoes to stay comfortable.

Un lugar precioso, aislado para estar en la naturaleza. Me enamoré de los jardines. La casa súper cozy. Don Ángel, el encargado de la propiedad, demasiado servicial y Lauren muy anuente a resolver cualquier inquietud y flexible desde el dia de la reserva.

Great place for a mountain scape. Quiet and peaceful. Could get a bit cold so pack your layers if you want to stay outside. The place has a chimney and beds have warming blankets so can sleep warm and comfortable.

Incredible stay. The views are absolutely stunning and the weather was amazing — it does get cold, so come prepared, but that just adds to the experience. The place is very peaceful, perfect for disconnecting and resting. Everything was as described (or better). A special mention to Don Angel, the concierge — truly outstanding. Attentive, kind, and always ready to help. He made the stay even better. Would absolutely recommend and would stay here again.

Hermoso lugar para relajarse, descansar y desconectarse completamente. No entra absolutamente nada de señal por lo que es imprescindible llevar la ubicación de Maps (no Waze) ya cargada en el Cel. Fuera de eso las instrucciones son claras y precisas. Nos dieron suficiente madera para la chimenea. Nos sentimos súper bien atendidos

Ha sido un privilegio el poder disfrutar de esta propiedad con un jardín encantador, la casa como de cuento de hadas, los detalles y las atenciones de Lauren y de parte de Angel quien nos atendió en todo momento que requerimos de su apoyo. Ha sido mi estancia preferida. Gracias crear una estadía insuperable!
