Overview
This modern home offers a secluded setting with spectacular ocean views, an infinity pool, and a hot tub. It is just a six-minute walk from Ocotal Beach. Perched on a cliff overlooking Ocotal Bay, Vista Royal Villa is located 40 minutes from Liberia Airport and only a short drive from local amenities. The vibrant downtown area of Playas del Coco is a 10-minute drive away.
The property features five bedrooms, four bathrooms, and ample outdoor space to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Experience the essence of "Pura Vida" on Costa Rica's beautiful golden coast.
The Space
Built in 2019, this unique home was designed by renowned Costa Rican architect Victor Cañas, whose work is often compared to Frank Lloyd Wright’s. The front door perfectly frames the ocean view. Custom windows open and close to create a seamless indoor-outdoor living experience. High-quality tiles and decking keep the floors cool underfoot.
A custom-built stairway leads down to the beach and back. The pool includes jacuzzi jets for a relaxing massage.
Each bedroom is equipped with its own air conditioning unit and a TV featuring access to Prime Video, Netflix, YouTube, and select sports and news channels. The living room also has a TV, along with a wireless Sonos Bluetooth sound system and air conditioning throughout the home.
Vista Royal Villa offers privacy and stunning ocean views while being just a five-minute walk or two-minute drive from Playa Ocotal beach. The gated property is beautifully designed with walls of windows facing the ocean, providing panoramic views from every room.
The home’s architecture blends natural wood, expansive windows, soaring ceilings, and distinctive design elements with breathtaking ocean and nature vistas, creating an immersive environment that connects you with the landscape.
Bedrooms and Bathrooms
Enter the main house from the spacious parking area. To the right, there are two bedrooms, each with king beds, private balconies, high ceilings, remote-controlled blinds, and ocean views. The first bedroom includes a dedicated desk area. Both rooms feature TVs, large closets, and comfortable bathrobes.
Adjacent to these bedrooms is a large bathroom with a double vanity, a massive jacuzzi tub overlooking nature, and a spacious shower stall.
Near the main living area, another full bathroom is located on the right. Steps lead up to a third bedroom with a king bed. This room has a large pocket door and window that separate it from the living space and offers spectacular views of the pool and ocean.
The lower level contains a large bedroom with a private patio, a large TV, a walk-in closet with bathrobes, and an ensuite bathroom. This bedroom can be accessed via an interior spiral staircase or directly from the parking area.
Living and Dining Areas
The sunken living room overlooks the pool and provides ample, comfortable seating. A large TV is positioned to the side, allowing you to enjoy movies or sports without obstructing the stunning views.
The living space exemplifies indoor-outdoor living, with floor-to-ceiling glass doors that open fully to blend the interior with the expansive outdoor entertaining area.
To the left, the eat-in kitchen includes:
- Dining table for six
- Breakfast bar with seating for four
- Large two-door refrigerator
- Ceramic cooktop and oven
- Dishwasher
- Various small appliances
The kitchen windows slide open wide, creating a convenient passthrough to the outdoor breakfast bar and grilling area.
Outside, multiple seating areas are available, including a dining table that seats eight. The large pool runs the length of the living space and features a jetted tub, all with beautiful ocean views.
Primary Suite
The spacious primary suite continues the theme of floor-to-ceiling windows, offering views of the pool, outdoor entertaining area, ocean, and lush surroundings from the king bed.
This suite includes:
- Sunken living area with a large TV and futon for extra sleeping space
- Private patio with comfortable seating
- Over-pool deck with two lounge chairs, ideal for sunbathing or yoga with ocean views

Vista Royal Villa is a peaceful retreat that immerses you in nature at every turn. Although it feels private and secluded, the home is accessible by golf cart or car and is conveniently close to Playa Ocotal.
Location
Beach access is quick and easy, just 500 meters away—about a two-minute drive or six-minute walk. Playa Ocotal is a quiet village with a beautiful cove beach featuring gentle surf and excellent walkability (0.5 km / 0.3 miles from end to end).
The beachfront offers plenty of shade, and rocky reefs at either end provide good shore snorkeling opportunities.
Nearby amenities include a small mini market and two popular restaurants: Father Rooster and Maracuya at Bahia Pez Vela Resort.
Additional Information
- The house is not wheelchair accessible due to a staircase at the entrance.
- Children are welcome with supervision, as the sunken living room and some uneven surfaces require caution.

We had an incredible stay at Vista Royal Villa. The home is absolutely beautiful, with breathtaking views that truly surpass what the photos show. Alina was a fantastic host and provided detailed instructions & thoughtful recommendations, which made our trip seamless. We followed her recommendation to use Luis for both our airport transfer and an excursion, and we couldn’t be happier. I highly recommend him—he was amazing! He is incredibly knowledgeable and took us to a waterfall, mud baths, hot springs, a volcano, & a rainforest. It was the highlight of our trip and allowed us to experience so much of Costa Rica in a single day. We also used Vamos Car Rental, which was very convenient. They delivered the car directly to the villa and picked it up afterward for a minimal fee. Having a car made it easy to explore Playa Coco, and we even took a day trip to Tamarindo. We all agreed this was the best vacation we’ve ever had. Thank you, Alina, for sharing your beautiful home with us!

We had a wonderful stay at this Airbnb near Ocotal Beach! The property is located behind a secure gate, which made us feel very safe and comfortable throughout our visit. The house is modern with a beautiful Zen-like feel, creating a calm and relaxing atmosphere from the moment you arrive. The pool and hot tub were fantastic, and we loved being able to use the grill while enjoying the beautiful view—it made for perfect, relaxing evenings. Everything was clean, well maintained, and exactly as described. Alina was an excellent host—very responsive, friendly, and helpful with local recommendations. The location was ideal for both relaxing and exploring the area. We truly enjoyed our time here and would absolutely stay again. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the Ocotal Beach area!

We loved our stay! Beautiful views and the house was modern, clean, and comfortable. We had 6 adults and 5 kids and it was plenty of space for all of us. The kids enjoyed the pool and the house was well stocked with amenities in the kitchen, beach chairs, and towels. The walk to the beach was easy and the kids enjoyed digging in the sand and exploring the tide pool. We also enjoyed the beaches at Playa del Coco and Playa Hermosa. We loved eating at Father Rooster.

Loved this home. We had family in for our 30th wedding anniversary and room enough for 10. Woke up every day to beautiful views and friendly birds. The beaches were easy to get to and the pool and big windows allowed for enjoy time in the house. Alina was extra helpful and accommodating.

Home was beautiful, there was 9 in my party, plenty of room, view was amazing, we saw iguanas, racoons and monkeys from the deck and was visited by beautiful birds daily that would eat from our hands. The recommended chef was pricey but so good we did two nights. The recommended excursion contacts were friendly and easy to deal with, we had amazing experiences. Everything we needed was present in the home, we cooked and grilled daily, kitchen had all the conveniences of home. plenty of beach towels and the restrooms were fully stocked with everything from bathing towels, hair dryers and soaps and shampoos. You will hear a lot of exotic sounds from outside throughout the night if you're a light sleeper, which added to our Costa Rican experience! Would definitely return and recommend to family and friends. Tina
