this place is perfect to check out the national parks around that area, the comple is extremely cute, highly recommended, I will be visiting this area again and I will be staying here again. to travel there from Liberia go to the town of bagaces and from there go up... there is roads from Liberia but they are in terrible condition, 4x4 is needed for sure...

Rinconcito Lodge is a beautiful place to stay while exploring the nearby area! The staff were so friendly and helpful. David, the concierge, helped us create a fun-filled itinerary where we fit in many activities in the short amount of time we were there. The road to get there is a little rough, but we made it in a little 2x4 by going slow and keeping an eye out for potholes to dodge. We went during dry season, so a 4x4 may be necessary in wet season. The stay was worth the drive though!

The place itself was isolated, which we loved. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. Other reviews mentioned the food being expensive, but we thought prices were after staying at Playa Avellanas for several days. I recommend Rinconcito!

The road getting there is a bit bumpy, a little difficult at night but nothing crazy. The staff is AMAZING. Anthony, guest services was friendly and made us feel like we’ve been there before. Luis at the front desk too. We loved them! So attentive and kind. The room was spacious and the view of the forest was perfect. The restaurant was good for dinner but we did not eat breakfast there. Other reviewers said no food for 30-40 mins away, but there are restaurants about 22 minutes to the east and west. (Amazing ones at that). We had a great stay!

We enjoyed our stay at Rinconcito and would stay there again if we ever go back to that area. The room was spacious and clean, and the nice balcony with the hammock was lovely. The grounds are beautiful and the food was good too! The service was very friendly, and the staff really made the effort to get to know us and our preferences even if we were only there a few days. Highly recommend!

The hotel is very nice and calm. It was perfect location for our hikes in Rincon de la Vieja, the staff is very nice and helpful. The only negative point is the food. It is a pity that the hotel does not profit from amazing local food but rather serves frozen products and it is quite overprised for the region. I believe that if the hotel takes the opportunity to cook local dishes and uses local food sources the experience would be yet on another level.

Was expecting Mountain View but it was a beautiful jungle hillside nonetheless. Very clean spaces and friendly staff. We were recommended to do the La Leona waterfall, and wow that was such a great experience. Highly recommend. A/C works great, water was hot and pressure was good. Pool was perfect, plenty of towels and easy walking back to room. Beautiful view from balcony laying on huge hammock. Birds a plenty!! Breakfast was really great too! Easy drive to both sides of Rincon de La Vieja volcano National park. (Buy park passes online!!) A Must see! Natural wild hotspring on Santa Maria side. Also we did the Rio negro hotsprings in afternoon which did not disappoint. Overall wonderful experience at Rinconcito. Once again, great location, great food, great rooms, comfy beds, great staff. Will stay again. Pura Vida!

The good: the room itself is very nice. The hammock is lovely. The people are very nice and lovely. Lots of room for parking. AC is nice and cold. Great shower. Nice decor. The bad: I really didn’t like this place because it is set up as an almost trap. The listing says “Liberia” — this is absolutely NOT in Liberia. It’s in the middle of no where, along terrible road conditions for 40 minutes. There is nothing in the area so you have to eat at the hotel (unless you want to drive 40 minutes). The hotel food is expensive and quite average (at best). The first hotel is stayed at that didn’t offer free breakfast in Costa Rica… and they do this because they KNOW they have you (what are you gonna do? Drive 40 minutes for breakfast?). I truly did not appreciate any of these aspects - especially because of how misleading the title is. The map makes it look close. But don’t trust that - the road is difficult and takes time.
