Excellent value for money, very close to the University of Costa Rica and easily accessible. It has everything you need for a comfortable and peaceful stay. There are grocery stores, shops, and restaurants nearby. Although I had no problems, the host was always very attentive and proactive. Recommended!

Great location!! Very walkable distance to mini marts and public transit. It takes about 15 mins to get to the heart of the city by car but if you’re feeling adventurous I recommend walking as the UCR campus is beautiful and the surrounding neighborhoods are too. Many parks nearby so take advantage of the location. Oscar and Dennia are really good people with plenty to offer and have tons of information about the surrounding areas, the apartment and how things work in the region. The neighborhood itself is peaceful. Grocery stores aren’t too far out, but I’d suggest trying different eateries such as the local sodas as it helps support small businesses and because Costa Rican food is incredible!! :)

Everything was great; very close to the university. Perfect for my stay of a few days. The apartment comes with everything you need, including a kitchen and a washing machine. Oscar is and continues to be a great Host and helps lot with instructions to the location, check in and any other accommodation. respond time was almost instantly and flexible with check in. I had a great experience staying at Oscar's place. It is small as described, but had everything I needed. Highly recommend for solo travelers.  Neighborhood is really quiet and place is secure. Oscar was extremely helpful, from providing photos to identify the entrance to the apartment, to replying quickly to questions I had. I would 100% stay here again.

Stayed for a week.  It is a very small apartment. No outside windows, but does get some light.  Was very clean, but had kind of a damp musty smell. but not bad.  You could hear the upstairs tenants walking on their floor. UCR is close by although that was not my interest. Not any nearby restaurants. Only has a washer and a fan to dry your clothes.  Good hot water shower. Oscar was very responsive.  Over all it was okay, worth the price.

I found Oscar's place very practical being that I had activities at UCR, it's a couple blocks from the University campus. Oscar was always attentive and his treatment is very friendly and collaborative. The description of the apartment is exact but it should be noted that it is very comfortable and cozy. I really recommend it.

We found a small, but very cosy and clean place where we enjoyed our time there. Everything necessary was found there. :) Also very nice to have is the great and very green Costa Rica University campus nearby, which is indeed very walkable and to enjoy to stay. Another great plus: next to the university campus there is also a train that can be used, e.g. to go to Cartago (highly recommendable!). Thank you.

This is an excellent option for those who travel for academic purposes at UCR, especially to the university research city, which is less than 100 meters away. It is a safe, quiet place with the basics for the day to day. It can be small and dark but these are secondary themes for those who have academic interests as a priority. In addition, Óscar is all the time available to address any concerns, I thought he was a very friendly person. I'd stay here again.

Host had clear and detailed instructions, photos and guidelines for apartment and resources for getting there and checking in. The place is small, but well equipped, including new front load washer. However place is like being in a stone-cold dungeon, complimented with squeaky: front door, pantry door and bedroom door. I could not believe the temperature was a constant 70⁰F entire stay inside the apartment, while outside it was 80-86⁰F. Unfortunately, like many other Airbnb listings I've stayed at, the reviews don't actually reflect what is very apparent: Unbelievable NOISE! People upstairs (host claims permanent tenants), most likely students, which would explain their lack of respect, control, care. You pay for a place to not only stay, but to sleep. peacefully through the night. People upstairs: constantly banging, crashing their body on the floor and walking across the floors in hard-soled shoes, moving furniture across floor loudly echoing throughout place, often past 2 am!

I'm really confused about this review and how this reservation was. In 4 years, +100 reservations and +84 reviews, and it's the first time I get this kind of comments and complaints. P.S. This reservation was for 1 week, but it was cancalled and refund requested because of the complaints after 2 nights.

Impeccable bathroom. Luxury shower! The accommodation offered met our expectations. That's not big, but it's cheap. The area is near to the university but rather far from the center (still accessible by bus). The host is super responsive and arrival is super easy.

Oscar is probably the best host I've ever had. Whenever I mentioned anything (even of low importance), he made sure my wishes were met. He always went above and beyond. The apartment is small and nice. I lived there for three months - no problems whatsoever. There is no natural light, but you don't want to stay inside if you stay in Costa Rica, right?

What a wonderful little apartment located in San José (San Pedro), Costa Rica, located in the center of all its shopping and dining needs and UCR University. Perfectly located on a small residential street with neighborhood surveillance (security). Very comfortable bed with 5 star pillows, a small kitchen, a great shower and the apartment has a TV. The owner is fantastic to help you and answer any questions. Easy access to the apartment from a quiet street and was perfect for me. I stayed two months and could have stayed two years if necessary without any problem.

This is a very small, simple place with all the basic amenities. It was immaculately clean and in a very secure building. Safe, pleasant San Jose neighborhood near the University of Costa Rica close to restaurants, grocery stores, everything you need, and a short taxi or bus to the center of town. The only possible drawback was there is very little natural light inside the unit so be aware if this is a big issue for you. Oscar was a communicative, responsive and warm host and I would stay here without hesitation. AMAZING VALUE GIVEN THE PRICE.

I stayed one month at Oscar’s and it was great! You have a small flat all for yourself, with a full equipped kitchen. Oscar is the best host I ever had, when I had a problem, he solved it right the next day. It should be said that there is no natural light in the flat, but I went to the University for working (3 min walk). It’s also very close to Barrio Escalante (for nice dinner and bar places). It is great value for money, I recommend it!

Oscar is a wonderful host, he is a very polite, proactive, kind person, has an excellent response time, cares that the stay is excellent and that you are not missing anything. The apartment is just like the photos, it has very fine finishes, it was very clean when I arrived, it is too safe since there are gates, security cameras, key, etc. The kitchen is very well equipped. The shower is the best I've ever used, it really has a fantastic shower, the temperature is regulated and it's spectacular. Had a great time, and I would love to come back. If I could give it 10 stars instead of 5, I would.

El apartameto es tal cual las fotos, tiene acabados muy finos, estaba muy limpio cuando llegué, es demasiado seguro ya que hay portones, cámaras de seguridad, clave, etc. La cocina está muy bien equipada. La ducha es la mejor que he usado en mi vida, en serio tiene una ducha fantástica, se regula la temperatura y es espectacular. La pasé muy a gusto y me encantaría volver. Si le pudiera 10 estrellas en vez de 5 lo haría.
