The Space

Casa Ginger is situated at the edge of the rainforest and just a five-minute walk from the southern tip of Jaco Beach. The property offers ocean views from a two-story rooftop terrace, which includes a hot tub, barbecue area, and dining space, along with a sun deck. Adjacent to the house is a small soaking pool and a fruit garden where guests are welcome to enjoy any ripe fruits. An outdoor shower is available for rinsing off after beach visits or pool use.

The house can be rented as a whole or divided into two separate apartments via an interior stairway with a lockable door. Each apartment comfortably accommodates three guests, with a maximum capacity of six per apartment, allowing the entire house to host 6 to 12 people.

Upper Apartment

Casa Ginger includes a two-car garage; please notify in advance if you require garage access during your stay. The property is fully fenced and secured with barbed wire on the mountain side, and it features an alarm system.

Location

The house is located at the base of the rainforest on the quieter, more private southern end of Jaco Beach. It is a five-minute walk to the beach and a five-minute drive to downtown Jaco. The surrounding rainforest is home to wildlife such as monkeys, exotic parrots, and iguanas.

COVID-19 Measures

Casa Ginger follows Airbnb’s COVID-19 cleaning protocols, including a minimum 36-hour gap between guest stays and thorough disinfection of all surfaces after each departure. The host is happy to discuss accommodations to meet guests’ needs during these special circumstances.

Guest Access and Services

Guests receive two sets of keys regardless of the number of occupants. If daily or periodic cleaning is desired, arrangements can be made in advance with cleaning staff, who are paid directly by guests. Please bring your own beach towels, as these are not provided.

Important Notes

• The stairs to the rooftop terrace do not have a railing and may pose a risk for small children.
• Check-in and check-out times are flexible; however, cleaning schedules may require guests to leave by 10 a.m. on departure days or accept a late check-in (after 6 p.m.) if arriving on the same day another guest checks out.
• The property is LGBTQ-friendly and welcomes diversity.

House Rules

1. Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the house.
2. To prevent petty theft, keep gates, doors, and garage closed and locked at all times. Activate the alarm when not inside or at night. Keep balcony doors closed during these times as well. Contact Alfonso immediately if the alarm is triggered accidentally.
3. Do not feed any wild animals such as monkeys or iguanas to maintain their natural behavior.
4. Shake off sandy towels outdoors before using the washing machine to avoid damage.
5. Keys will be handed over by Alfonso upon arrival and must be returned directly to him to avoid replacement charges.
6. Hot tub usage guidelines:
   • No eating while in the hot tub
   • Avoid drinking from glass containers
   • Do not enter after applying sunscreen, creams, or oils to prevent clogging the jets
   • Lower the temperature to the minimum setting after use
7. Quiet hours begin at 10 p.m. Please avoid loud music, car horns, or disturbances to neighbors.
8. Before departure, tidy the house and leave it as you found it. Place any unwashed towels on the bathroom floor, clean or load dirty dishes into the dishwasher and start it. Report any stains on linens or towels to Alfonso. Additional cleaning or replacement costs for damaged or missing items will be charged beyond the basic cleaning fee.
