Kubla Khan

Exactly what the doctor ordered! The sounds of the river are sooo relaxing, the kitchen is beautiful to cook in, the garden rendered yummy salads, the sauna and natural pool were a delight, the hosts are kind and communicative. The pictures do not do this place justice. The outdoor space is where we spent most of our time, reading, napping, watching birds, having meals, playing cards, etc. THIS is relaxation to the max, and exactly what I needed!

I have stayed in many airbnbs and this gorgeous home is one of my two all time favorites. The setting is glorious--looking out to forested mountains and above a roaring, clean river. The home itself is a work of art, with windows on all sides & beautiful views, comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen, clean water to drink and a very unique bathroom. And, the grounds are exquisite with a delicious spring-fed pool and a lovely bio-sauna that I enjoyed three days in a row. Do not hesitate to book this piece of heaven!

Ein Freund hat mir dieses Juwel empfohlen und es hätte nicht schöner sein können! In jedem Winkel spürt man die Liebe mit der dieses Haus und der Garten gestaltet und errichtet wurden. Ich war mit meinen Eltern und Freund da und wir werden diesen Ort für immer im herzen tragen. Zudem haben wir toll gekocht und schöne Gespräch am Esstisch geführt. Massage war auch phantastisch, die Organisation top. Vor allem die Sauna und der Pool waren ein träumchen. So gerne hätten wir noch viele Tage mehr an diesem besonderen Ort verbracht. Vielen Dank, dass ihr diesen Ort anderen Menschen zugänglich macht und so herzlich seid. ❤️

Great place to have some fresher days than on the coast.Kubla Khan is a thoughtful designed house with everything you need.Angus is a nice and responsive host taking care for anything you‘re asking for.We recommend to enjoy the morning coffee in the rockchairs on the terrace,listening to the nearby river and waiting for the sun coming up over the ridge.And don‘t miss the sauna after a hike,a lovely experience you would not expect in Costa Rica.

There is only one word to describe this place. Peaceful. We absolutely loved our stay. The house was truly amazing. We especially loved the sounds of the river. The place is just as described and is well stocked with everthing you need I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Just an absolutely magical jungle home. Beautiful scenery and setting all around. The hosts were so welcoming and helpful. Do the sauna - you will not regret it!

We were in Costa rica for a month and stayed at 7-8 different places and this was hands down our favorite. Rivas is a really fun little place with delicious food options. The climate was perfect and the space was super clean and very well designed. My toddlers would go down each night to the pond to see frogs and other animals and they LOVED it. We are already planning our return trip! 10/10 experience. Only thing to be aware of, is the driveway is pretty steep and narrow. Not abnormal for Costa Rica

Wow ! We kept extending our time on this land and stayed in both houses . Tangus has created a literal paradise on the river and it’s just so well done . The beautiful stone paths that meander down to the water through gardens where you can pick fresh greens for your meals to the sauna and pool and the mighty chirripó . The house was incredible. It feels like a tree house with glass and open air if you want it . Clean , minimalist and super cozy . Full equipped kitchen, incredible shower and the most epic master bedroom. We would live here forever if we could 🙌

all I can say is that the pictures don't do it justice. if you're looking for a peaceful place to stay with amenities that are intertwined with the surroundings, this is the place. the sounds of the river are so peaceful. the natural pool is one of the most beautiful places I've seen. Angus is a great host, super helpful and friendly.
