The Space
Welcome to Casa Blanca de Playa Negra, a newly remodeled and architecturally designed beach house in Playa Negra, Puerto Viejo. The property combines modern tropical design with open-air living, vaulted ceilings, and the comforts of a contemporary home.
A small gate on the property provides direct access to the beautiful black-sand beaches of Playa Negra. The home also includes:
- A saltwater swimming pool
- A tropical garden with banana trees, towering palms, and jungle vines
- Indoor and outdoor living and dining areas
- Ocean views and the soothing sound of crashing waves
- Air conditioning in each bedroom, if needed
- Large ceiling fans and refreshing ocean breezes
The home comfortably accommodates up to eight guests. The second floor includes two bedrooms and two bathrooms, while the first floor features an expansive studio with a full bathroom, private poolside deck, and kitchenette.
This property is ideal for small families, up to three couples, individual travelers seeking a comfortable space, or small wellness retreat groups.

Casa Blanca is within walking distance of a small local market and the vibrant town of Puerto Viejo, known for its restaurants and shops.

Additional Information
Each bedroom includes the option of air conditioning. However, the ocean breeze and large ceiling fans are usually sufficient to keep the home comfortable.
For stays of at least one week, a complimentary mid-stay cleaning is included.
Guests do not have access to the laundry facilities. However, the cleaners can provide laundry service for a small additional fee.

Casa Blanca was such an amazing place to stay. I absolutely love the Puerto Viejo area and everytime we come here we stay on Playa Negra. This house is in the perfect location with direction access to the beach. You hear the waves at night while going to sleep and you can wake up and brew a pot of coffee and walk on the beach. I will definitely be back. My only suggestion would be to bring your on pillow if you have a tough time sleeping on thin pillows.

I really enjoy the place, it had everything I wanted and more. It’s great because it’s very private but at the same time you will be near a lot of restaurants and great places in less than five minutes by car. You also have places to have breakfast, lunch or dinner nearby, walking distance. I’ll be going back really soon.

We had an absolutely amazing stay at this beautiful home in Puerto Viejo. The property was perfect for our family - the kids loved the pool and the direct beach access, and the grounds were gorgeous and full of wildlife. We saw all sorts of animals right in the backyard every day! The location couldn’t have been better - just a short walk to town, but still peaceful, private and serene. We could hear the waves crashing at night and the black sand beach was just steps from the house. It really felt like the best of both worlds: close to everything Puerto Viejo has to offer, yet tucked away in our own little paradise. It's super close to the national parks and other beautiful beaches in the area. The management team was top notch. They were incredibly helpful and responsive when we had logistical questions about the house or area, or needed recommendations for drivers, tours and restaurants. This was such a special place and we would come back in a heartbeat. Highly recommend!

Absolutely incredible stay. Right on the beach. Huge, beautiful yard. Incredible walking up to the open walls and waves crashing right in front of us. Sound of the ocean as we slept was also awesome. Hosts were very responsive and friendly. Met all of our needs. Would love to stay here again!

This is my second time staying here. The first time was fantastic. This time, not so much. Since I had stayed before, I reached out to the host to get a quote for 3 nights. They quickly sent me a link and I made the payment. Right as I am checking in, I am told that because you have 4 people, it’s going to be $400 more. Now keep in mind my group and I spent a couple hours reviewing our options and weighing the cost of where we were going to stay before opting on this place. Had we known we were going to be charged an extra $400, we would have not stayed here. I can completely understand if your policy is more if you have multiple guests. BUT you should have made that clear before sending a link to pay and after receiving payment and as I am walking into the property. Seems super shady and because of this, we will not be back. We are coming back to the area the entire month of December, and this will not be one of our stops. Was not worth the amount for 3 days for sure.

We loved our stay at Casa Blanca. The host was very responsive and helpful. The restaurant recommendations were wonderful. The house is exactly as pictured - the backyard area is possibly even more beautiful than the photos. The location is fabulous - directly on Playa Negra. A very peaceful location for a Costa Rican beach stay! I would return here.

We had a fantastic time at the gorgeous playa negra beach! The house was easy to find and check was great-greeted by a Rise staff and welcomed with wine beer & chocolate! The house is very secure- there is a main entrance gate lock, beach gate lock and locks for all doors & windows. It felt very safe for our 2 families with 4 kids. It is a couple houses off the main road and there are a few night noises with cars and early morning motor cycles. The market was a 2 min walk for supplies! It was a 20 min walk on the beach to town- which was so lovely and fun & the local cuisine was great to check out! The Banana Azul resort was a 5 min walk down the beach for yummy meal! The beach and the backyard was our haven we were out there every morning swimming and walking- it is stunning and the water is warm and amazing! The back yard we saw sloth, tucans, lizards and poison dart frogs! There are a couple upgrades needed- more beach towels, beach chairs, access to laundry for wet towels!
