Highland Birds, Coati Cabin

Beautiful property with walking paths through forest and garden areas. Abundant wildlife. Spectacular hosts who thought of everything! Highly recommend and look forward to returning some day!

Très beau séjour de 3 nuits chez Eliette et Mark. Les appartements sont très bien équipés et entourés d’un beau jardin où l’on peut observer des animaux (papillons, colibris, toucan, faucon, pava …). Nous avons beaucoup échangé avec Eliette qui nous a très bien conseillés sur les meilleures activités et spots de là région. Très bon petit déjeuner inclus. Possibilité aussi de parcourir un sentier dans la forêt (un peu loins d’un km).

Our stay was marvellous. The airbnb was really clean, the surroundings wonderful and Eliette and her husband were more than hospitable. Eliette showed us around, told us a lot about nature and wildlife and she brought a wonderful breakfast. On top of that we could use her washing machine and dryer. Thank you so much! We really enjoyed our three days at your place.

This was more of an experience than a stay. This property is rich with birds, frogs, trees, plants and more (if you are lucky like we were, we also say monkeys and a sloth right on the property). Meeting Eliette was an absolute honour. She is an amazing person with an incredible diverse knowledge of biology, plants, birds and much more. I learned so much from her and I found it hard to leave her beautiful paradise. We travel a lot, we meet many people and I can say with certainly that our time with Eliette will be remembered fondly. If you are a birder, this place is for you. Bring your binoculars and cameras. I set up my equipment on my balcony and did not have to wait long. There are so many varieties of birds to be seen right from your balcony or walking around the property. It was tremendously exciting. Eliette let me borrow some handy guides so I could properly identify and learn about what I was seeing. The cabin was beautiful, spotless and very comfortable. The wood is like nothing I have ever seen before. Mark's breakfasts were amazing! Conversations with both Eliette and Mark were wonderful. Such nice people. They have an incredibly beautiful (and very friendly) dog and cat. Aside from the educational piece, and comfort of the space, both Eliette and Mark were perfect hosts in making sure we were always comfortable, gave us directions to places, suggestions for dinner, things to do or see to learn about the community etc. We absolutely loved it.

A beautiful cabin in a beautiful location. Lots of wildlife (birds and monkeys and and a very friendly dog and cat) and tons of trees. The breakfasts (and coffee) were delicious and the hosts were very welcoming. It is located close to parks (Tapir Valley, Tenorio), swimming, and great food (Metamorphosis, Manti). Thank you for the wonderful stay.

It’s not fair giving 5 stars in all categories when rating this airbnb. Eliette and her husbands attention to detail is seen everywhere. The bungalows are a display of extraordinary craftsmanship! Then there’s the breakfast provided each morning! Simply amazing. Delivered to you each evening for your morning enjoyment, suited towards your schedule. This is 5/5 +++++! BOOK IT! NOW!

Elliette’s place is an amazing Airbnb. It is a gorgeous, quiet, calm property in the rainforest near town where we could watch birds fly between the banana trees while we drank coffee. She and her partner made beautiful breakfasts every morning. They gave us recommendations for activities nearby, including a night tour at Tapir Valley Reserve, which was amazing. They invited us over for a meal one night, they helped us order food from a restaurant in town for delivery. Honestly, I’ve never had a more helpful and knowledgeable host before. The road to the house is steep and bumpy, but I think a car without 4wd could make it. We just had a really nice time there and would definitely stay again.

We could not have imagined a more amazing location and accommodation near Rio Celeste. The property is beautiful- we were able to see wildlife off the porch and while walking the trails. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and hope to return!
