Beachfront Room
Located on Cocles Beach, just 50 meters from the Caribbean Sea, this private room is ideal for surf and beach enthusiasts. Spectacular sunrises and sunsets are only steps away.
The room has a twin bed and is located in a spacious, shared three-bedroom, two-bathroom bungalow.
Please note that the property is home to several friendly animals, including Gerald the sheep and Kitty the cat. Local wildlife, such as monkeys, iguanas, and occasional sloths, may also roam the grounds.
The Space
The house sits directly in front of the beach on a 10,000-square-meter lot, the largest in Cocles. The property includes several local fruit trees, including:

The grounds are also filled with tropical flowers and plants. There is plenty of space to hang a hammock and enjoy some peace and solitude in a relaxed, Pura Vida setting.

I had a lovely stay with Janet! If you are someone not used to jungle living, be aware that there are plenty of ants/bugs/etc around. This is not a place for you if you're looking for 100% cleanliness, luxury, & total privacy. It is a small room within a shared apartment surrounded by incredible nature and wildlife. It is about a 35-minute walk or a 4-8 minute drive from the Puerto Viejo De Talamanca bus stop. It's steps away from the sea (Playa Cocles). There is no shower head, just a pipe, but the water got nice and hot. Gerald is the ram who roams around outside, and Kitty is the cat who spends a lot of time sleeping inside. Janet was very kind, generous, & helpful throughout the week I stayed there (LGBTQ+ friendly). This is a chill place for people who would love to wake up & fall asleep to the sounds of the sea, wildlife, & don't mind a little dirt/sand around. Janet & the other guests staying there were kind & friendly. We had many nice times socializing together.

Мы провели здесь потрясающее время и остались в полном восторге! Дом расположен буквально у самого моря, просыпаться под шум волн было настоящим удовольствием. Пляж просто великолепный: красивый, дикий, людей практически нет, что создаёт ощущение полного уединения и отдыха. Сам дом очень уютный, чистый и прекрасно подготовлен к проживанию - видно, что хозяева заботятся о комфорте гостей. Есть всё необходимое для жизни! Отдельно хочется отметить хозяйку, невероятно добрый, отзывчивый и деликатный человек. Она всегда была на связи, быстро отвечала и искренне старалась помочь, при этом совершенно ненавязчиво. Также приятно удивило расположение, в пешей доступности есть всё необходимое. Хочется отметить идеальное соотношение цены и качества. С удовольствием вернулись бы снова и однозначно рекомендуем!

There were a few things about my stay that were a bit frustrating BUT there was also lots happening out of anyone’s control- the weather causing lots of issues, trees down/power out, limited facilities etc. It was a lovely, clean, inviting room that I booked, but there was a miscommunication and I didn’t actually get the room I booked on the first night. There were also lots of ppl coming and going that weren’t staying there (I think to use wifi); I tried to be flexible but as I had chosen an airbnb over a hostel for some downtime before a volunteer program, it was a bit chaotic for me personally this time. Janet is a lovely, warm, kind woman, good for a chat and with a great vibe. It’s clear to see she is well-liked in the community and extends kindness where she can. She is very on the go but makes herself present for guests and is always busy cleaning or doing something for the house. Great location; Kitty is THE BEST! NB: Bring a sleep mask & try the nearby Soda! Phenomenal food

Easy beach access, sleep to the sound of the surf, wake to the sounds of howler monkeys. The room and shared kitchen was clean, and the shared bathroom small and dated, and functional enough.

Un séjour merveilleux chez Janet pour le début de mon voyage au Costa Rica ! Une maison caribeenne sur un magnifique terrain à 30 m de la plage. Bercé chaque soir par le bruit des vagues et réveillé le matin par les oiseaux et singes, c’est le lieu idéal pour décompresser et se reposer. La nature est très présente : singe, paresseux, papillon et milles oiseaux vivent autour de la maison. Le plus agréable a été l’accueil chaleureux de Janet. On se sent tout de suite à l’aise et accueilli comme si on faisait partie de la famille…merci beaucoup Janet pour ces deux semaines reposantes. Si vous passez à cocles, n’hésitez pas c’est le lieu ideal ! Et Janet a d’autres lieux magiques à vous proposer dans les environs ! Regardez bien toutes ses offres… J’espère un jour revenir dans ce havre de paix. Merci 🙏
