Luxury Villa with Private Pool / Steps to Beach

Casa de Agua has great access to Playa Hermosa, which is north of Santa Teresa. Our house was beautiful and the layout was very pleasant. It is also nice to be a little ways from the hustle and noise of Santa Teresa. Casas de Agua is a set of four houses that are separated from one another visually with tall hedges/plants/trees between each. However, you can hear neighbor noise pretty readily. While we were there, there was a steady sound of construction next door, which was not disclosed, and that started between 530 and 730am each day. There were other properties relatively nearby that offered a discount due to nearby construction but we declined, hoping to avoid this. The check in process was challenging. We are from the US and had no cell reception once arriving at the house. We were provided only a picture of the gate without additional instructions. We had to drive 10 minutes back into town to get coverage to figure out how to gain access. After traveling for two whole days, this was less than ideal. Hopefully this process will get better. Also note, the hosts only use Whats App, which we had to download once in Costa Rica. Plan ahead on this. The biggest area of concern are the uncovered concrete walkways. It poured rain while there and they are incredibly slippery. They ask that you not use the towels to wipe up the water but just walking across them with water on them you can easily slip and fall. Splashing in the pool will create the same effect. Three of the five of us slipped and fell. The washer and dryer are not actually on site. They are in the housekeeping area. All laundry is given to the staff to launder for you. We lost power several times (which happens in Costa Rica often and we were accustomed). However, the modem had to be reset at the main house every time this happened. We had to request this every time which felt intrusive however, without cell phone reception we did have to attend to timely work matters. The hot water never worked in the shared bathroom and was very weak in the master bathroom. If the water was warm there is no water pressure, otherwise it is a lukewarm shower. The security boxes didn't work. Costa Rica has enough theft to warrant locking up valuables but this was never addressed. There were other maintenance items but we just felt we wanted to enjoy our trip versus continue to try to request fixes.
