Overview
Casa Luna is a spacious 3,000 square foot home with stunning views of the Pacific Ocean, located just outside the quaint beach town of Samara. Designed in a U-shape by owners Davina and Daniel, the house draws inspiration from Balinese and Mediterranean styles, featuring earth tones, arches, and a seamless blend of indoor and outdoor living. This brand-new residence was completed in January 2023.
The Space
The outdoor area boasts a large infinity pool overlooking the jungle and ocean. Guests can unwind in the hammock, hammock chairs, extra-wide sun loungers, or the built-in seating area that comfortably accommodates eight people.
The kitchen includes:
- Gas stove
- Breville Barista espresso machine
- Large pantry
- Dishwasher
A spacious TV room is furnished with a sectional couch suitable for the entire family and a 65-inch television equipped with Apple TV, Disney+, Netflix, and more. The room also features a beautiful natural table ideal for games or coloring, a favorite family activity.
Nestled within two acres of private jungle, the property offers a large yoga shala with a palapa roof. The shala is equipped with an ice bath freezer, dumbbells, and yoga mats. From May through January, a waterfall flows along the side of the property, audible from the shala.

Guests have full access to the entire home, including:
- Rancho-style parking for two cars
- Laundry area
- Yoga shala on the property
Location
The nearest airport is Liberia (LIR), approximately a two-hour drive from Casa Luna. San Jose airport (SJO) is about 4.5 hours away by car.
The closest beaches are Samara Beach and Carrillo Beach, both reachable within a 12 to 15-minute drive.
Additional Information
- A four-wheel-drive vehicle is required for easy access to the house.
- Air conditioning units are installed only in the bedrooms. Common areas do not have AC, but the open windows provide excellent airflow.
- Upon booking, guests receive a comprehensive house manual featuring recommendations for local services such as massages, yoga instructors, private chefs, restaurants, and activities in the Samara area.

I travel with airbnb quite regularly and this was one of my best experiences thus far. Daniel was incredibly helpful and responsive. I planned this trip as a customer appreciation trip for some of my customers which was a big undertaking - Daniel helped me to coordinate a wonderful chef for our stay as well as many other details which was just above and beyond what I would have expected. The home is beautiful!! We didn't want to leave. It has private spaces and bathrooms for each couple (3 couples). Everything was very clean and thoughtful. The pool was perfect. As described it is a bit of drive getting up to the house and 4x4 is a must, but worth it for the views and privacy! We enjoyed hearing the monkeys nearby each day as well.

Picturesque villa nested in the mountains, Pinterest-level architecture and design. Everything is of the utmost quality and haut de gamme, designed to elicit a sensory experience one remembers. Many thanks to the host for being available and welcoming. Wish we could come back sooner! One of the best Airbnb accommodations we've had the privilege of visiting.

Magnifique maison, très spacieuse, plus beau en vrai que sur les photos. Endroit très calme avec les singes directement sur les lieux. Daniel était très réactif lors de nos questionnements. Nous recommandons cette magnifique villa sans hésitation. Séjour en famille inoubliable!

Family of five had plenty of space. Extra bedrooms if needed. The home was easy to live ,cook and relax in. Exactly what we needed. Birds singing in the morning and we saw some monkeys on our last 2 days. We made sure and took Daniel's advice and rented a 4 wheel drive so getting up and down was a piece of cake. Samara was nice however we took Daniel's suggestion and went to the beach town up the road and really enjoyed that several times during our visit. I would return and highly recommend this home!

Our group had a wonderful time at Daniel's place! He is undoubtedly the most responsive and helpful host I've ever worked with on Airbnb. He allowed us to check-in to one of the rooms early so my toddler could nap and answered numerous questions about the property. He will go out of your way to make your stay worth it. The photos and listing are very accurate, but please make sure you're reading it thoroughly. The place is beautiful, comfortable beds/sheets, well-stocked kitchen and has great appliances. We had experienced quite a lot of rain so the drive to the place was difficult - I didn't feel totally comfortable doing it on my own. While you can park at the soccer field, it is extremely muddy and very steep to walk down to the property. you NEED a 4x4. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much. Thank you to Daniel for letting us into his personal home.
