Location

The house is situated on a paved road just 1.5 kilometers from Balgue, a small local town. In Balgue, you will find:

• Trailhead to hike Maderas Volcano
• Natural spring for swimming
• Various restaurants and small stores

While there are activities within walking distance, Ometepe is a large island, and taxi service can be expensive. We recommend either bringing your own vehicle or renting one during your stay. We are happy to help you organize any tours or transportation you need.

Guest Access

You will have access to the house, pool, and entire property. There are workers on the property during the day to maintain the pool, gardens, and house. If you require a higher level of privacy during your stay, please let us know.

Other Things to Note

A note about insects: Ometepe is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve with a large variety of wildlife, including many insects. Most are relatively harmless, but some can bite or sting. The house is screened to help keep insects out, but some may still find their way in. It is recommended to close the doors around sunset. We advise against eating on the sofas, as it attracts ants.
