Steps to the Sand!

We planned a family trip for over a year. Carlos was extremely helpful from the beginning. We had 22 people of all ages. Our experience was over and above our expectations. Carlos helped with the chef and also gave us more info upon arrival. We spent a lot of money to get to Costa Rica, this house was outstanding. Sonya, daily maid, made my vacation a dream. A plus all the way!

Casa Mia was an awesome house for our large family gathering. We had several couples, 3 generations and plenty of space and options to make sure everyone was comfortable. Carlos was very responsive and helpful in planning rides, excursions and activities. He provided suggestions for grocery stores and restaurants. Very friendly and made our trip one of the best! The beach was amazing with plenty of beauty from the pool deck! Was a great trip for our entire group

It was a large family vacation and the place was perfect. Everyone had their own space and plenty of common areas. The pool was amazing. The sound of the waves was very relaxing. The highlight was definitely the chef Liza and Sonja was definitely a treat. The massages were perfect. Can’t wait to go back. Thank you Carlos and everyone for a great family vacation.

Our second stay at Casa Mia and somehow it was even more magical than the first ✨ The pool is absolutely incredible — perfect for relaxing, recharging, and soaking up every golden-hour moment. It’s truly an amazing space for hosting a retreat with such a beautiful, peaceful vibe. We also hired Liza as our private chef and she was phenomenal. So affordable and the food was beyond amazing — every meal felt like a luxury experience. Already dreaming about our next stay 💛

This Airbnb was everything we hoped for and more. The outdoor space is truly the highlight — the pool area is beautiful, private, and feels like your own little tropical retreat. Evenings by the pool with the palm trees lit up and the ocean just beyond were magical. The covered outdoor kitchen and lounge area made it so easy to cook, relax, and spend time together without ever feeling cramped. The home itself was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully laid out. The indoor-outdoor flow is perfect, and you can tell the hosts put care into creating a welcoming, stylish space. Waking up and being just steps from the beach was such a bonus. Hiring Liza was one of the best decisions we made — she made every meal absolutely amazing and took so much stress off our plates. Beyond the incredible food, she helped with local recommendations and made the entire experience feel seamless and special. She truly elevated our stay!

Over the Christmas holiday, our entire family of 3 daughters, their husbands and children came to Steps to the Sand. 16 total. We had been planning this trip for well over a year and we all agreed it was one of the best vacations we had ever been on. We arrived after dark but could hear the rush of the surf as soon as we stepped in the door. With 10 clean bedrooms, each with their own bathroom, air conditioning and comfortable beds, we were very satisfied. We enjoyed the pool and the surf every day. Carlos did an awesome job planning for transportation and excursions even though we were there one of the busiest times of the year. We had Lisa, the cook, and her staff prepare several delicious meals. Can’t say enough about that. In hindsight, we all agreed, we would have planned for more of that. Thank you Carlos and Nicole for helping us experience the trip of a lifetime.

I highly recommend Casa Mia. It is perfect for a large group. Everyone has their own bathroom and the outdoor living space was perfect for gathering. Literally steps from the beach. We had a small wedding on the beach for my daughter, everyone was so helpful and accommodating. I can’t say enough about Liza the chef, the food was delicious every meal, affordable, and made the trip very relaxing not having to go out for food. I would definitely go back!
