It was the perfect get away to unplug and relax.  My husband and I will be back!  The views are amazing, the restaurant nearby was great, the kitchen had everything we needed to stay in and cook.  10/10 recommend staying here.

I have stayed here several times and always love it! Private yet feels safe. Lovely and clean space. There was an issue with the internet this time unfortunately, but Otto was super helpful trying to resolve the issue and providing extra care to make up for it. :)

I had a great stay! The place is beautiful, quiet and private that is what I was looking for to be able to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of day to day races. Otto was always attentive and friendly, he allowed me to check in a little earlier, with the availability of being able to check out a little later; and Nicolás, the guardian, always attentive and willing to help. The facilities of Hotel El Bambú very nice and the staff and management very friendly and friendly. Everything was super, Beautiful place 🙏🏻

Tuve una excelente estadía! El lugar es precioso, tranquilo y privado que es lo que buscaba para poderme desconectar del bullicio y carreras del día a día. Otto fue siempre atento y amigable, me permitió hacer el check in un poco antes, con la disponibilidad de poder hacer el check out un poco más tarde; y Nicolás, el guardián, siempre atento y dispuesto a ayudar. Had a wonderful trip with my boyfriend to go on the bird watching tours. The apartment had a lovely terrace to lounge on and full amenities. The Internet is really slow so not great for remote working but great to disconnect.

This place was lovely!!! I have stayed at Bambu hotel in the past but enjoyed this even more... The quiet privacy, amazing views from the room, porch, and private dock. (And able to use Bambu amenities and touching the property!) The staff at Bambu was friendly and helpful with checkin. Felt very safe, even staying in a isolated area alone - it was quiet, well lit, and secure. and was very clean and comfortable! Loved the furnished kitchen! Otto was an amazing host-- sent great recommendations (like ask the boat to drop you at Bambu instead of walking!) and let me check in early and out late---giving me even more time in the beautiful hammock! (Be aware there isn't very hot water ... Similar with many places in Guatemala-- but gets warm enough to take the edge off :) )

Airbnb with all the pro's of the hotel it is annexed to. It is not jn the middle of the huzzle and buzzle of the town but not in the middle of nowhere either. There are regular tuc-tucs passing by, but after a 15min walk you are in the heart of the town. The apt is quite neat and comfortable. Otto is very responsive and helpful. All and all, we had a very nice stay here. Just make sure you get at least 15min before the hour to catch the boat or you'll end up enjoying more coffee than you intended while waiting for the next one 😉

We had a pleasant stay on the water in Santiago. The apartment seems to be affiliated with the Hotel Bambu (that is where we checked-in & out). The Hotel Bambu is also the closest place to get a meal, we got dinner and lunch there. Otto was very friendly and walked us to the apartment and let us know he was available should we need anything. It was a quiet place and offers great sunrise and sunset views.

Really a beautiful place on the lake, lovely sitting on the terrace with beautiful views. Comfortable beds with nice bedding. Communication with Otto is quick and friendly. We were allowed to check in a little earlier and check out is flexible. My husband got sick and we could easily extend a day and Otto came with tips and offered help, very nice. Definitely a place to recommend to other travelers!

Echt een prachtige plek aan het meer, heerlijk zitten op het terras met mooi uitzicht. Comfortabele bedden met fijn beddengoed. Communicatie met Otto is snel en vriendelijk. We mochten wat eerder inchecken en ook uitchecken is flexibel. Mijn man werd ziek en we konden makkelijk een dagje verlengen en Otto kwam met tips en bood hulp aan, heel fijn. Zeker een plek om aan te raden aan andere reizigers!

Otto is an incredible host and we are very very grateful to him. He was very responsive and proactive, also very understanding. We had some issues during our traveling and we needed flexible check-in and check-out, and Otto was able to help us. If we are ever in the area again, we will stay at Otto’s! The apartment is as described, you have everything you need. It was clean. And the view is beautiful :)

Listening to the sound of water while you sleep is absolute perfection! Heaven ! Place is clean, everything you need is available and if not everything is close by to acquire. Bed sheets are clean and soft, towels are washed and clean. If you have limitations with walking it will be a little challenging with the dirt road and bit steep -but they offer help. Take headlamp ornaments flashlight after dark, it’s like camping !

We loved it, the location is perfect, the breathtaking views, the place very cozy, the communication with Otto excellent, super flexible with the check-in and check-out times, the reception at the hotel and the attention of them was top, we will return without hesitation. a beautiful and magical place, ideal for disconnecting from the noise.

The studio is a very comfortable and quiet space, easily accessible and offers the possibility of making use of the facilities of the Bambú hotel that is at par (with a daily limit of one hour between the jacuzzi and sauna). We had an inconvenience with the electrical energy, but Otto and Nicolás were very attentive to solve it. I liked the place and I recommend it for those who want to spend a quiet stay in front of the laguito of Atitlán.

El estudio es un espacio muy cómodo y tranquilo, de fácil acceso y brinda la posibilidad de hacer uso de las instalaciones del hotel Bambú que se encuentra a la par (con límite de una hora diaria entre el jacuzzi y sauna). Tuvimos un inconveniente con la energía eléctrica, pero Otto y Nicolás estuvieron muy atentos para resolverlo. Me gustó el lugar y lo recomiendo para quienes deseen pasar una tranquila estancia frente al laguito de Atitlán.

The place has an incredibly nice location with a wonderful terrace. This is the "most beautiful" of this accommodation. The bathroom is very simple, the floor was not clean and there was only lukewarm water. The kitchen is also very simple, but there were plenty of dishes. The beds were clean. There is private access to the lake and the panorama is beautiful. Otto always responded very quickly. I highly recommend the adjacent restaurant at Hotel Bambu. Conclusion: Overall, I found the price to be too high for the simple amenities of the apartment!

Die Unterkunft hat eine unglaublich schöne Lage mit einer wunderbaren Terasse. Das ist das "Schönste" an dieser Unterkunft. Das Badezimmer ist sehr einfach, der Boden war nicht sauber und es gab nur lauwarmes Wasser. Die Küche ist ebenfalls sehr einfach, es war jedoch ausreichend Geschirr da. Die Betten waren sauber. Es gibt einen eigenen Zugang zum See und das Panorama ist wunderschön. Otto hat immer sehr schnell geantwortet. Das angrenzende Restaurant im Hotel Bambu kann ich sehr empfehlen. Fazit: Insgesamt fand ich den Preis für die einfache Ausstattung des Appartments zu hoch!

A truly paradise! 🤩 Very quiet, private. Otto showed initiative by offering to check in earlier than the hour and also when leaving. He was quick to respond and attentive. Don Nicolas the guard took us firewood for the fireplace and left everything ready to turn it on. He was very helpful and with an excellent attitude. Casa studio everything is very clean, it has many amenities, if it has hot water. Super accessible, it's like being at the hotel hosted with all the amenities but in your own paradise. I recommend 🙌👌

Un paraíso verdaderamente! 🤩 Muy tranquilo, privado. Otto mostró iniciativa ofreciendo entrar antes de la hora y tambien al salir. Contestaba rápido y estaba pendiente. Don Nicolas el guardián nos llevó leña para la chimenea y dejó todo listo para encenderla. Fue muy servicial y con excelente actitud. Casa estudio todo muy limpio, tiene muchas comodidades, si tiene agua caliente. Super accesible, es como estar en el hotel hospedado con todas las amenidades pero en tu propio paraíso. Recomendo 🙌👌

Otto's place is in an amazing location with incredible views, however it is a little rustic, even by Guatemalan standards. Some initial communication difficulties aside, Otto is a responsive host. However, there are a few little things that I would note about the listing. Be aware that the roof of the apartment is not your space and that tour groups are regularly bought here to see the view -- which can be a little loud inside with people tramping over the roof. The kitchen is very basic and you'll need to bring everything yourself (e.g. salt, oil etc). Be careful not to touch the stove itself (or a pan on the stove) when it is on, as it will give you a pretty solid electric current zap. The internet is sporadic, so if you are coming for remote working this may not be your best option. You might want to arrange for drinking water to make sure you don't have to buy it and bring it in.

We stayed with my girlfriend and the place was very good, the photos don't do justice to being on site, the hotel's food is very accessible, the service of the very accessible prices, the attention of the staff was very good. If you have any questions, I recommend them. If you are going to party the place where you are located in Santiago Atitlan, so I recommend bringing your own alcohol and enjoying the view that the place had on the lakeside, for everything else we are delighted

Nos hospedamos con mi novia y estuvo buenisimo el lugar, las fotos no hacen justicia con estar en el lugar, la comida del hotel buenisimo precios muy accesible, atencion del personal buenisimo, si duda alguna se los recomiendo, considerar que si van en plan de fiesta el lugar donde estan ubicados en Santiago Atitlan no tienen lugares para este tipo de actividades por lo que recomiendo mejor llevar su propio alcohol y disfrutar de la vista que tenia el lugar a la orilla del lago, por todo lo demas quedamos encantados

Great locale. As the studio is affiliated with a restaurant/ hotel it made for a pleasant experience. For example, access to pool, hot tub, sauna, restaurant and stunning gardens. The studio is set apart from all of this and there were zero amenities. No hot water as advertised.

Very good place to stay, an amazing view. The attention was very good, they answered immediately, they let us in earlier and leave a little later, and clean house. (at the bamboo hotel the Jacuzzi and temascal can be used 1 hour nothing more per day of accommodation, it is not unlimited)

I loved staying here during my time in Santiago. The sound of waves was a peaceful backdrop as I drifted to sleep and the restaurant’s food was 10/10. I recommend this place and the cacao!

There was dirty Tupperware, had to request the sheets to be changed because they where dirty, the person in charge(Nicolas) let other people in the terrace while my wife was taking a shower his response was that they wanted to see the sunset from the property I had to ask them to leave. its in a nice location but Nicolas isn't taking good care of the place

Beautiful and private spot on the lake for swimming or relaxing. Walking distance to Santiago to get fresh fruits and vegetables for meals. To reach other lake towns, it’s easy to request a private boat or go to town for the public boat & launch.

This is a lovely cabin right on the lake, which is close to a hotel where you can find a nice restaurant and pool. Checkin at the hotel Bambú, but then you’ll enjoy a nice relaxing stay with an incredible vista for a great value!

The restaurant is very good, between Spanish and Guatemalan.   The road to get there is very bad from Godinez, there is a very ugly house next door in which there was a lot of noise.  We didn't use the pool much but we thought it was missing a lot of lighting.  The apartment has everything you need,  and the place has a lot of peace of mind around, although the room doesn't filter out much noise from the neighbors.   It's nice, but it can be better.  The care at the restaurant is very good.

El restaurante es muy bueno, entre español y guatemalteco.   La carretera para llegar es malísima desde Godinez, hay una casa muy fea al lado en la cual habia mucho ruido.  No usamos mucho la piscina pero consideramos que le falta mucha iluminación.  El Apartamento tiene lo necesario,  y el lugar tiene mucha tranquilidad alrededor, aunque la habitación no filtra mucho el ruido de los vecinos.   Es bonito pero puede mejorar.  La atención en el restaurante muy buena.

Overall, we had a great stay at this casita. The casita has a big front deck that sits right on the water (all cement, no grass) so the view is as good as it gets. The proximity to Santiago and the fireplace are also great. There is a stovetop, but no oven. We brought our dogs, no problem (though the listing doesn't indicate one way or the other RE pets). Overall, it's a simple but nice spot. I would probably stay again. At $87/night it's a bit overpriced for what it is. I've stayed in nicer places on the lake for half the price. Also, Otto was completely unresponsive to my messages and no check-in instructions were provided. FYI, the check-in is through Hotel Bamboo reception. There was no firewood for the fireplace, so we had to negotiate with the folks at Hotel Bamboo (who were overall very nice and helpful) for firewood. There is a dock in front of the casita, but it is relatively derelict and is not easy to access. There was no Ecofiltro in the casita, though there was a pitcher of water provided. Overall it's a good place to stay, just somewhat overpriced and with room for improvement!

La Estancia was incredible, wonderful views of the lake and the volcanoes, a lot of tranquility, it was a time to replenish energies. Everything is very accessible. A highly recommended place to enjoy with the couple or family.
