This unique and affordable 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom Eco Beach Home features a modern, open concept design and a large covered porch nestled under the trees. Stilted construction keeps the house cool, while reforested teak furniture enhances your stay. This property is perfect for enjoying a beach-going, surfing, golfing, fishing, or relaxing vacation with friends or family.

The master bedroom is equipped with a queen-sized bed, comfortable linens, an enlarged closet, and an en-suite bathroom. The guest bedroom also features a queen-sized bed, comfortable linens, a spacious closet, and easy access to the guest bathroom. Both bedrooms and the living room are equipped with fans and air conditioning. The house has a private entrance, a driveway, and an outdoor shower.

Additional amenities include hot water, Wi-Fi, and a Smart TV. Purified drinking water and housekeeping are provided free of charge. Housekeeping staff will also handle any laundry, as they are the only ones with access to the washer and dryer in the house. This service is included with your stay.

Guests staying in an eco casita have access to two common area swimming pools: one at the Eco Casita property and another at the beach club.

Location

This casita is located within the Hacienda Iguana development, known for its world-class surf breaks. There are four surf breaks within walking distance: Playa Colorado, Panga Drops, and Los Perros are in the neighborhood, while Playa Amarillo is to the south of Playa Colorado (accessible at low tide). The area also features a beautiful 9-hole golf course that is well-designed, beautifully maintained, and affordable for guests.

Food Supplies

The best place to get groceries is La Colonia in Rivas, located 100 meters south of the turn-off for Tola on the right (west) side of the street. While in Rivas, you should also refuel, as these are the closest gas stations to your location. We highly recommend stocking up on groceries for your entire stay. Alternatively, if you prefer not to deal with planning, shopping, and preparing meals, ask us about booking the meal plan or our full-service catering option.

Eating Out

There are several great dining options within the Hacienda Iguana development:

• Pili's Kitchen: The most visited and only beachfront option, located at the Beach Club in front of the Colorado Break, offering fresh foods, juices, smoothies, and a full bar.
• The Salty Koala: Located in La Joya next to the Eco Casitas, serving amazing Asian cuisine and craft cocktails.
• Casa Ananas: Above our office, offering authentic Italian cuisine, pizza, and daily international specials.
• Downtown Iguana: Next to our office/surf shop, serving seafood and authentic Nicaraguan cuisine at a fair price.
• Scoops and Spokes: Across the street, known for homemade ice cream, good coffee, baked goods, paninis, and fresh juices.
• Iguana Brewery: A few doors down, offering sports bar fare and local craft beer.

Shopping

We have a well-stocked store (NSR Surf Shop) located inside the Hacienda Iguana development, offering souvenirs, surf accessories, clothing, beach towels, flip-flops, sunscreen, sunglasses, swimsuits, wetsuit vests and tops, rash guards, and more. We also rent scooters, dirt bikes, surfboards, boogie boards, and stand-up paddleboards from this location.

Other businesses in the Hacienda Iguana community include Pure Spa, two small convenience stores with a variety of grocery items, and an ATM located on the property. Additional activities in the development include yoga, horseback riding, and in-home massage.

The Riviera commercial plaza is located within half a mile of the Hacienda Iguana entrance, featuring BAC bank with an ATM, a small grocery store with essentials, and Bagels and Bakes, a café with daily home-baked goods and coffee.

Getting Around

This property is a 2 to 2.5-hour drive from the Augusto C. Sandino International Airport in Managua and approximately 4 hours from the Liberia airport in Costa Rica. Most major vehicle rental agencies have locations at the Managua airport, and we recommend making a reservation in advance. If renting a vehicle, a 4-wheel drive is only necessary if planning to travel to some beaches further south in the San Juan del Sur area.

If you prefer not to rent a vehicle, we can arrange airport transportation and daily sightseeing or surf trips. Motorcycle and scooter rentals are available, and we can also arrange vehicle and boat transport to other surf breaks in the area. Vehicle rentals are also available from Alamo and National, which has an office next to Hacienda Iguana.
