A propane generator backs up the electricity in case of power outages. While the community is secure and house staff are trustworthy, a large safe is available for added peace of mind. Housekeeping staff will handle any laundry needs, as they are the only ones with access to the washer and dryer in the house. This service is included with your stay.
Please note that while this property accommodates larger groups of up to 10 people, gatherings of more than 20 people in the house, pool, or patio area are not allowed. The septic system and house are not set up for large groups. If a gathering of more than 20 people occurs during a stay, guests will be fined $500.

The best place to get groceries is La Colonia in Rivas, located 100 meters south of the turn-off for Tola on the right (west) side of the street. While in Rivas, it is advisable to refuel, as these are the closest gas stations to your location. We highly recommend stocking up on groceries for your entire stay. If you prefer not to deal with planning, shopping, and preparing meals, ask us about booking the meal plan or our full-service catering option.

The NSR Surf Shop, located inside the Hacienda Iguana development, offers souvenirs, surf accessories, clothing, beach towels, flip flops, sunscreen, sunglasses, swimsuits, wetsuit vests and tops, rash guards, and more. We also rent scooters, dirt bikes, surfboards, boogie boards, and stand-up paddleboards from this location.

This property is a 2 to 2.5-hour drive from the Augusto C. Sandino International Airport in Managua and approximately 4 hours from the Liberia airport in Costa Rica. Most major vehicle rental agencies have locations at the Managua airport; we recommend making a reservation in advance.
If renting a vehicle, a 4WD is only necessary if planning to travel to some beaches further south in the San Juan del Sur area. If you prefer not to rent a vehicle, we can arrange airport transportation and daily sightseeing or surf trips. Motorcycle and scooter rentals are available, and we can also arrange vehicle and boat transport to other surf breaks in the area. Alamo and National also offer vehicle rentals with an office next to Hacienda Iguana.
