The Space
Villa Toucan (BVP No. 6) is a tranquil retreat located on a black sandy beach within a secluded cove near Playa Ocotal on Costa Rica's Northern Pacific Coast. This villa is part of the Bahia Pez Vela Resort, offering direct access to an ebony beach, two swimming pools, free wireless internet, a restaurant, a toddler pool, a concierge office, and a peaceful atmosphere occasionally accompanied by the calls of nearby howler monkeys.
The villa is one of 25 beachfront villas, distinct from the 15 mountainside oceanview villas. Only a single row of villas separates you from the beach, with the pool, restaurant, and shore just a minute's walk away. From the master bedroom, you can step out onto your private balcony to enjoy views and sounds of the ocean waves alongside the nearby howler monkeys.

The family loved the place. A few steps to the pool and the ocean with a good restaurant. To get around, we used uber, cost us about $10 each way to auto mercado supermarket. Henry is very responsive and helpful during our stay. Definitely recommend to stay at Villa Tucan for your stay at Costa Rica.

El lugar estuvo muy bello, nos encantó. La playa es muy privada, un poco rocosa, pero aún así muy linda. La descripción del lugar es tal cual. También disfrutamos de la piscina del lugar. La casa estuvo excelente! La recomendamos. Muchas gracias a los anfitriones!!

We love this part of Costa Rica. We hadn’t been back to Bahia Pez Vela in 10 years and it was nice to be back and so close to the pool. Perfect for vacationing with kids. Thanks to Elizabeth and Henry for sharing their place. We will be back!

We enjoyed our stay at Elizabeth and Henry's place! The resort is great - the staff there are all so welcoming and helpful. It was nice to have a restaurant onsite and the food is very good. We enjoyed the pools and the beach daily. We especially appreciated the detailed directions for driving to the home, the recommendations of restaurants (we enjoyed Tandoor and Santorini from their list of recs!), and recommendations of things to do/sightseeing nearby. The home itself was comfortable and well-stocked. We would recommend staying in this villa and at Bahia Pez Vela!

Elizabeth’s place was very comfortable. The mattresses were comfortable. I always love the Bahia Pez Vela. The beach and pool are super fun and convenient. Great views of the ocean and lots howler monkeys and birds to wake to in the morning.

Great place to stay in the Guanacaste coast. The Bahia Pez Vela beach is PERFECT for snorkeling and the swimming pools are great for kids all ages and all. The service and communication by the host and the resort was great too. The villa was very clean and with a partial but nice ocean view.
