David's property is an ideal rental for families of all ages. It is a creation from a master builder who has put a lot of thought into the layout and renewable energy.
As parents of young children, we appreciated the details such as:
David was available onsite throughout our stay to ensure everything was working and to answer our questions, while also being sensitive to our need for privacy. The property has something for everyone, and our large group, ranging from 18 months to 70 years old, felt they had their own privacy while enjoying family time.
I highly recommend having dinner catered by David's staff on the first night. He had hot food and the hot tub ready for us, and his groundskeeper arranged fishing charters. We do not like resorts, and this quiet farm community provided the perfect beach vacation destination.
The villa is surrounded by basil and cherry tomato farms, creating a quaint yet comfortable setting. The kids loved the beach, and the drive over the hills to get there felt like an adventure. We enjoyed most of our meals outside, as the bar, pool, and kitchen were great for gatherings. We plan on recommending this property to our friends and will return with family.
I stayed at Villa del Faro for six days with my wife and my 20-year-old daughter. It was one of the best vacations I've had in a long time. The owner, David Raitt, went out of his way to make us feel welcome. Unlike many places I've stayed, the furnishings, pool, buildings, and rooms were as nice as they looked in the photos.
The buildings were all constructed by the owner, who is a professional builder, and his pride in his work is evident throughout. Although I speak fluent Spanish, I found that many locals speak English, more so than on the Mexican mainland.
The buildings at Villa del Faro have a distinct Mexican flavor, are visually appealing, and function well. The hot tub was hot, and the pool was cool. We attended a Wednesday afternoon volleyball and music party, which was great fun.
My only complaint about the trip was related to the surf. As a surfer, I found two good breaks within a couple of miles of the villa, but the surf was only a couple of feet during my stay. However, I know that conditions can change, and I hope the surf will be better for your holiday.
Overall, I give the highest marks to Villa del Faro and to the owner.
