The Space

This beautiful and spacious five-bedroom home is located close to the beach, offering amazing views of both the ocean and the mountains. Casa de Leon features exquisite woodworking, stainless steel kitchen appliances, large and comfortable beds, and a saltwater pool.

There are two bedrooms on the first floor, just off the pool. One has a king bed, and the other has a California king bed. The bedroom farthest from the pool has its own entrance at the back of the house and is not accessible directly from the main house. These bedrooms share a bathroom accessed across a small breezeway.

A small foyer on the first floor contains beach chairs, umbrellas, a cooler, and beach towels. There is also a small futon in the foyer that can be converted into an extra bed suitable for a child or teenager.

The kitchen and living room are located on the second floor, along with a bedroom featuring a queen bed. The bathroom on this floor is not attached to the bedroom.

On the third floor, there are two more bedrooms, both with California king beds. The master bedroom has an en suite bathroom with a jacuzzi tub and separate steam shower, as well as a walk-in closet. It also features a small patio with beautiful views of the ocean. The other bedroom has a small patio and its main window faces the stunning Sierra de Laguna mountains.

Our house is the tallest in the area, providing incomparable views. You can look west to the ocean, north to the nearest surf break, or east to the dramatic Sierra La Laguna Mountain Range.

The property includes a robust water filtration system that makes the water potable (except in the first-level bathroom), allowing you to drink the water straight from the tap.

The pool is a 70-foot solar-heated saltwater pool with a large pool deck. Amenities include:

• A table and chairs that seat six
• Lounge chairs
• Shade umbrellas

The neighborhood is tranquil and welcoming, located near the soon-to-reopen Rancho Pescadero. Several excellent restaurants are within walking distance.

Guest Access

You will have access to the entire house, except for the garage. The swimming pool and grounds are exclusively for guests at Casa de Leon.

There is a house on the adjoining property that may or may not be inhabited. It is a two-bedroom, two-bath home available at an additional cost should you need more space. The owners occasionally stay in this smaller house with their two children (ages two and six).

Additionally, there is a tenant living in a camper on the adjoining property. He is quiet and often busy with work or surfing, so you are unlikely to see much of him. Both the camper and the house are separated by a palo de arco fence, and they do not have access to the lot where the main house is located.

Other Things to Note

Please be aware that there are three flights of stairs, and the communal living space is on the second floor. Many of the countertops, including those in the kitchen, are taller than standard height. Stools are provided in the bathrooms and kitchen for your comfort.

We strive to live in harmony with nature and refrain from using strong insecticides. We fumigate several times a year with natural products, which effectively keeps bugs at bay. However, please note that the summer months tend to be buggier, and while we do our best to maintain a bug-free environment, you might encounter a few during the warmer months.

Air conditioning has been installed throughout the house, except for the bedroom on the first floor with its own entrance. Air conditioning is generally unnecessary outside of July to October, as temperatures are usually mild. We plan to install an air conditioning unit in that bedroom by next high season.

Currently, we do not have laundry facilities on-site. However, we can recommend a laundromat in Pescadero where you can drop off your laundry and pick it up clean and folded.

Our property is a triple lot, with our five-bedroom home sitting on its own half-acre lot. Within the walled compound is another two-bedroom home that is also a short-term rental, as well as a small camper belonging to a friend who lives on-site. He is quiet and serves as a presence on the property to discourage unwelcome visitors during the slower season.

We recommend purchasing travel insurance in case of illness or weather-related issues. We are unable to offer refunds (outside of our cancellation policy) for these reasons.
