Other important information to know:
The last 650 meters to our property is along a bumpy dirt road (the road to Totoco Eco-lodge). SUV, high-clearance vehicles, and off-road motorbikes are highly recommended. During the rainy season, the road may not be passable for normal sedans or scooters. There is no street lighting along this road, so please bring a flashlight.
Our property spans 5 acres, where we grow organic bananas, plantains, ginger, turmeric, sweet potatoes, lemons, and moringa.
The water you drink and bathe in on the property comes directly from Maderas Volcano and is natural volcanic spring water, full of minerals and incredibly good for your health. We provide complimentary filtered spring water for our guests.
There is a well-equipped shared kitchen for your use, including a full-sized fridge, oven with a 6-burner gas cooker, cutlery, plates, and basic ingredients.
We have a 24-hour presence on the property, including a night guard.
We have two large dogs named Alfie and Osa, who are dearly loved pets and also provide security at night. We also have a cat named Ninja.
Guest Access
Our two guest rooms share a well-equipped kitchen complete with a full-sized fridge, oven, and 6-burner gas cooker, pots, pans, and utensils.

Other Things to Note
Our entire property runs purely on solar energy. We have sized the system well, so during the dry season (December - April), you do not have to ration your energy consumption. However, during the rainy season (May - November), you may need to be more mindful and switch off ceiling fans that are not in use. When needed, we will turn on our generator to recharge our batteries.
If you have a love for nature and all things natural, you will love Ometepe! The island is home to an abundance of flora and fauna, featuring waterfalls, black and white sand beaches, incredible nature hikes, ancient petroglyphs, scenic wetlands, and a natural volcanic swimming pool. However, if you have a phobia of spiders, insects, and other creepy crawlies, then Ometepe may not be the right fit for you.
While the accommodations we offer are anything but rustic, the island's biosphere status implies a significant amount of biodiversity, which translates into an incredible array of insects.
