2BR Cottage in Spanish Lookout

Gretchen

Excellent, 1 month ago

My husband and I and our two kids (ages 6 and 9) stayed for almost two weeks and we were very happy with this house. Its very comfortable and had everything we needed. The inside of the house is so beautiful and well done, and sitting on the deck watching the hummingbirds was amazing. We saw a family of monkeys one day too. KayLynn helped us immediately one morning when we realized our car battery was dead, which was such a relief! We hope we can return to stay again and we would absolutely recommend this place!

The house is very comfortable. The property was well kept.

KayLynn’s cottage is absolutely beautiful. After 5 nights at the beach in a smaller space, my daughter and I arrived for the second part of our trip and immediately felt right at home. The inside is stunning - beautiful wood and vaulted ceilings. The beds are amazingly comfortable. The amenities in the kitchen, the beautiful bathrooms and being able to do laundry were so amazing. I loved sitting on the front porch with my coffee and watching the jungle wake up. Although there is nothing particularly interesting in Spanish Lookout for most tourists, this property is actually before the town, and only about 5-7 minutes off the main highway. You get your own little slice of jungle on the property, ample parking, and feels private but safe. From this spot, we could be in San Ignacio in 30 minutes, Belmopan/Hummingbird Highway in less than that. And only about an hour and 20 minutes from the airport. It honestly feels like a luxury accommodation for half the price. Thank you KayLynn!

Our family of 5 felt right at home. This house is stocked with everything! We were able to bake bread, make waffles and cook meals. We enjoyed the open living room and relaxing on the large couch. If you are immune to mosquito bites, there are plenty of trees and hammocks for relaxing outdoors. The surroundings and neighborhood were serene and beautiful, safe and peaceful. There were good dining options nearby and San Ignacio is only 30 minutes drive. It is important to note all the restaurants close on Christmas. We did find out later that there were places open in Hopkins which is a 2 hour drive on the Hummingbird highway, beautiful and worth the day trip. We heard that Bertha’s tamales along the way is good but unfortunately it was closed the day we went. For dining, must try Greg’s tacos (a meat lovers taco) at My Coffee in Spanish Lookout and definitely recommend Ella’s coolspot in Hopkins and Guava Limb’s and Benny’s kitchen in San Ignacio.

This cottage is sooo beautiful it’s in a nice quiet place free to enjoy the yard . I stayed with my kids they enjoyed seeing animals we seen birds an even got to see a monkey hanging around for a while . The home itself is cozy clean and great if you are looking for privacy. Kaylynn was so responsive and extremely accommodating definitely would stay here again just would say have yur bug spray but that’s everywhere in Belize yu need that
