Had a wonderful one week stay with my wife, stunning views of the Pacific which we enjoyed everyday on the 2nd floor balcony. Walk to an almost private beach in about 10 minutes which was quiet and beautiful. There are 3 bedrooms downstairs which are very nice and the upstairs has a nice kitchen with expansive views of the Pacific. The community infinity pool was something we did almost every afternoon for sunset and met several nice people from other condos who gave us excellent recommendations for excursions. Many of them said they had been back to this particular place for several years because it was so private, quiet and beautiful.

Our family loved our stay. As others have said, the views were amazing, the pool was sublime. The house came with everything we needed—cookware, beach towels, washer/dryer, excellent AC, lots of space, games and books, a nice grill. We felt totally at home and secure in this spot. We loved having a concierge to text with questions and to meet us at the house for check in. We liked being able to walk to beaches and to the shops and restaurants in Potrero. Excellent stay at an excellent property. Highly recommended.

Mary was absolutely amazing. There was some construction down the road. I didn’t complain or anything and she reached out and demanded, she gave me a refund for two nights out of nine. Honestly, it wasn’t even a big problem, but that goes a long ways to tell you how much she cares more guests.

What an amazing place!! Choose your view of the beautiful sunset, from the illusion pool, the upstairs, the downstairs balcony or the beach that is less than 1km away! Bedrooms were very comfortable, each with their own A/C unit. The common living space has A/C as well but is a bit warmer than the bedrooms, but with the A/C and fans was very comfortable. Some basic cooking supplies and lots of cookware and a gas grill on the upstairs veranda. All in working order and clean.Don’t mind the geckos inside and outside. They are great at reducing bugs. Ethan and Alice welcomed us to the villa and walked us through everything. I recommend Villa Catalina enthusiastically!

I can't say enough about how wonderful our stay was at Mary Jayne's condo in Playa Portrero. The views alone were worth the price! but it went far beyond that. We spent a week exploring the beaches in the area, from Playa Dantita in the north as far south as Playa Avellanas. all of them were great, but the two beaches within a 5 minute walk of our condo were our favorites. Playa Prieta is a small, nearly deserted black sand beach with incredible waves. Our teenage boys loved playing in them. on our last day, a troupe of howler monkeys visited for an evening meal in the trees. Playa Penca is a white sand beach door. it was always calm, deserted, and crystal clear. The little town of Portrero couldn't have suited our needs better. It is much smaller, quieter, and more down to earth than either Las Catalinas or Playa Flamingo. The condo itself was pristine and comfortable. Mary Jayne was always responsive. we loved it so much, we looked into buying the unit next door!

Mary s condo is awesome to say the least! It s very roomy and comfortable. The views are to die for. Sunsets are gorgeous! And the bird friends that you have are a treat. We loved it and will come back!

I was so happy with this property. Reasons? 1. The view. Simply incredible - from both levels of the condo, and from the lovely pool. 2. The location. I loved, loved, loved that it was a smaller town, with a little square close by (that had great restaurants), but it wasn't over-developed like some of the "bigger beach towns". This property is only 10-15 minutes away from everything you could need, but it was quiet, and peaceful, and didn't feel as "touristy". 3. The layout of the condo - bedrooms and bathrooms downstairs, and shared space upstairs. We only had 4 people (who all like their space), but it would easily sleep 6. Very spacious and well appointed. 4. The property-management team and concierge ( I should not imply that they are a 4th place group - they are top-notch - among the very best of any property I have stayed in. They quickly responded to our needs - even on the weekend. They made our stay so much easier and made great recommendations for tours!

This was our first visit to Costa Rica and it did not disappoint! The location was perfect...5 minute walk to a semi-private beach, beautiful views from both balconies, community infinity pool has a spectacular view and the house is a good size for 4-6 people and very clean. Fantastic trip!

This place is why you should also do Airbnb! We felt right at home and the views were beautiful! The house is beautifully decorated, it’s spacious and feels very safe. We stayed with 3 young boys and it was perfect - bird watching, poolside and best nights of sleep on our trip. We explored different beaches and some great places to eat. Favorite beaches for sunset playa flamingo, favorite for sand/water Conchal, favorite for convenience is walking distance. El Patio bakery, El Tiki, Loco Coco great places to eat. Thanks for opening your home- we created great memories!

Beautiful Villa, perfect for couples traveling together. So much space to spread out and enjoy both the Villa and surrounding area. Well stocked and everything was as expected and in working order. The Concierge service was super responsive and helpful. thank you to Tere and Goose for making our trip memorable!! Truly one of the most amazing air b n bs we have experienced to date. thank you for an incredible stay!

Beautiful place and the views were amazing!!

Amazing stay! Sunset every day was beautiful from the huge balcony, 10 minutes walk from 2 beautiful beaches. Also, the pool takes you to paradise! From there you can relax and watch birds. We were 6 adults and there was everything we need for a fantastic trip!

This place is a gem. Great location. In a beautiful (gated) complex with a pristine pool. Very clean home (which is super important to me) and plenty of space. The pictures actually don’t do it justice. The balconies are big and have gorgeous views. 5ish minute walk to the beach that has great sand and ocean swimming for kids. Then last but not least, Mary Jayne (the owner) and the management on the ground in Costa Rica were all wonderful. Such great communication and I never felt like I was being a burden by asking questions. Thanks so much!

Beautiful condo in a breathtaking location. We felt so lucky to be there. We visited four beaches and while they were all gorgeous, our favorite was the closest- Playa Prieta. Less than a ten minute walk and it was beautiful, had shade, and was almost empty in August! The pool is incredible, and the condo just as pictured/described—very spacious and we especially loved the two huge balconies. Great stay!

Words can’t describe how beautiful the location and views from the Villa/pool are! Mary was extremely friendly and responsive. There is a managment company that handles everything once you book your reservation. My friends and I worked with Lillian and Ana, who were both extremely helpful with booking restaurants, activities, etc., prior to our arrival. I highly recommend, you will not be disappointed 😊
