The bungalow offers the guest a beautiful, direct view into nature. During our stay, we were able to enjoy the calls of various native birds, witness the beautiful colors of tropical butterflys, listen to Howler monkeys and enjoy the unique flora that Costa Rica has to offer. Sharon was responsive and friendly. As other reviewers pointed out, she is discreet, so we did not have the chance to meet her in person. One reviewer shared some pointers which were tremendously helpful to us, such as cleaning food areas carefully and storing food scraps in the fridge or freezer. This is jungle living so expect some bugs but don't let that deter you from taking advantage of this amazing opportunity. For newcomers, like us, it was challenging to locate, even with a local driver. And for our overall acclimation, it would have been helpful to have occasional in-person access to the host for support with the little things.

This place is pure paradise!! Everything is perfect: the location, the comfort, the proximity to the beach and restaurants / grocery stores, the bikes, the cleanliness of the place, the ubiquitous nature, the birdsong when waking up, the tranquility and especially the host who is kind not to mention his adorable dog. We felt right at home and loved every second of our stay. Our biggest regret is not staying there any longer. There's serenity of life here, it's not described, it's life. It's a joy as a stay. A real favorite. We are traveling with our 4-year-old boy and he was just as charmed by the place and especially by Sharon and Cora! The host was very generous with your time because our son would often see her and she always greeted him with a smile. Thank you for everything! We'll be back for sure!

I stayed 5 nights in this beautiful house in the middle of nature . Everything was perfect and Sharon , very discreet , but she was always there in case of need . My husband had an unforgettable time with me. The property is also a short walk from the sea , but at the same time secluded . I recommend it to everyone to spend days in the beautiful and lush nature of Costa Rica .

This cabin is a small paradise, in the jungle (full of birds, frogs, agouti, squirrels, ...) and close to the beautiful beaches of Cocles and not far from playa Chiquita and Punta Uva (strong currents and big waves in the rainy season but there are "small pools" to splash around. We had a great stay with our family!

Excellent wifi,indoor/outdoor living, well stocked. Follow her house rules. I'll direct my review towards first time Costa Rica visitors. I live in the semi tropics of Florida and immediately felt at home with the open floor plan. The drinking water filtration was super cool!my suggestions are to keep food items in closed containers or in fridge. Food garbage, fruit peeling's, leftover food, candy wrappers ect in freezer to avoid pesky ants and counters wiped down with clorox wipes until taken to the dumpster. I live in Florida so don't panic if you see a bug similar to a roach, they have nothing to do with cleanliness, common in the tropics. Get a motor bike or use a Tuktuk. White water rafting book through Viator, absolute fun and amazing. Carib Shuttle for airport transfers. Allow at least 6 hours from Puerto viejo to SJO airport. I could go on and on, but limited space. Traffic to airport is slow due to Simi Trucks blocking the road.

This house is the perfect place to stay. I booked it almost e year ahead to have something to look forward to and was definitely not disappointed. The house is simple - but still has everything you need - and some. And the host is private but always helpful. We stayed a long time with our two kids and had such a magical time, didn’t miss anything even though we made most of our meals “at home”. Close to nature with hummingbirds, agotis and monkeys in the backyard . I would recommend this house -and host - to everyone interested in staying here. The location is also perfect, 5 min to the grocery store on bike. And walking or bicycle distance to all of the lovely beaches.

When you have the chance to give a nice review …. One should do it !! This place is amazing , every detail is in place the houses are beautiful , well located , very private , quiet , and close to amenities. The owner Sharon was great , she would help you at all times , every piece of furniture , beds and even small details such as soap on the shower were absolutely great and outstanding, highly recommended.. we will come back soon !

It was just perfect! Beautiful private space and garden, super close to the beach. We were also so happy to have a dog around. To have bikes was so helpful and fun. Sharon was really discreet and always helpful and responded quickly. Thanks so much for your hospitality.

We stayed at Casa Mariposa for a month working remotely and couldn't be more pleased with our time here! The home is a dream, set back just far enough from the main road that you feel immersed in the jungle, but close enough to neighbors and the beach that you still feel connected to your surrounding area. Wifi was fast and reliable (two people working & taking zoom calls). The space is thoughtful and well laid- beautiful bathroom/shower, well stocked and spacious kitchen, comfortable beds and of course the huge patio. Cocles is a 20 minute bike ride down the road from Puerto Viejo and 20 minutes up the road from Punta Uva. It was an great jumping off point to explore all along the cost. We enjoyed being close to Puerto Viejo but a little removed from all the action. We made great use of the bikes regularly biking in and out of town for coffee or a yoga class, or to surrounding beaches. Sharon was really sweet and helpful throughout out entire stay. Don't hesitate to book!

Very nice spot! Sharon was a great host - always around to help when needed, such as answering our questions about the area or providing fresh towels. The bed was super comfortable with lots of pillows. The place itself was very well stocked with everything we needed including beach blankets, all the supplies we needed for cooking, and the bikes were very useful to get around too! The fruit plate with chocolate when we arrived was such a nice touch, as was Sharon’s sweet little dog Cora who was the cutest welcoming committee 😊🐾

We indeed fell in love with this wonderful place and house. It is beautifully and modern decorated and the kitchen is very well equipped (even sharp knives!!!). The best part in our opinion is the big terrace with the surrounding garden, two sofas and the breakfast (and sometimes dinner) table. We saw agutis in the garden every day. Sharon and Cora, her dog, are both delightful and we would have liked to spend more time with them!!! Hopefully, there is a next time!!!

Amazing place! The outside sitting area was quiet and peaceful surrounded by foliage and tall trees. We constantly saw butterflies and humming birds! We also saw lots of monkeys, toucans and even great green macaws from the deck too! The location is great, a quick and lush 3min walk to the beach. Some great restaurants nearby within walking distance. The place also comes with bikes, biking to the main town area was fun, lots of other locals and tourists biking on the road, felt really safe - well paved and lit. Internet was fast and reliable, we both work remote, so that was super important to us. Shower had lots of hot water and great pressure. Loved our stay, would recommend!

Home is exactly as it is described, amazing.Sharon is thoughtful and proactive. Responds to messages promptly and quickly resolve small issues that occur normally. The location is excellent and the bicycles available with hosting allowed for mobility and getting to know the area. We recommend it!

Such a wonderful stay! The place was exactly as described and was right across from a beautiful beach in Cocles. We loved the screened doors that we could leave open and feel like we were completely outdoors. The outlets on the outdoor deck were awesome for working out on the patio. The wifi worked great and we were able to do zoom calls with no problem. The bikes were a great plus and we would ride to a new spot for dinner each night. Overall a really beautiful place and definitely recommend. Sharon was also super responsive and answered any questions we had right away to make sure our stay went smoothly. Would definitely love to come back sometime!
