Casa Uvita is a gorgeous rainforest eco-oasis nestled above Marino Ballena National Park. Every detail reflects the care of Michele and her caretakers with beautiful plant and wildlife everywhere. From our balcony we watched toucans, scarlet macaws and parrots; howler monkeys woke the forest, leafcutter ants marched nearby, and dogs Sara and Dora joined our walks. Michele welcomed us with fresh-baked treats and was engaged but never intrusive. She alerted us to wildlife, led us to Río Uvita and recommended wonderful local experiences. Her team also prepared an unforgettable multicourse meal and birthday cake—don’t miss it! Casa Uvita is magical for adults and children, offering lessons in nature, conservation and sustainable living without sacrificing comfort. Michele is a local hero who protects wildlife corridors and embodies Pura Vida. We only regret not staying longer—and forgetting her incredible butterscotch cookies in the freezer. I wish I had more characters left to praise!

Wow, wow, wow. What an amazing place. It really can't be described in words, photos, or videos. The smells, the sounds (especially at sunrise and sunset, an incredible jungle symphony of birds, howler monkeys, frogs, etc.), the house with so much space that you almost (on a good way) can get lost, the animals you see there, the wonderful pool, the distance to a great and quiet beach, and if you are lucky, dolphins... The adventurous trails to the river, the Basilisks in the garden, the recommended tour through the Mangroves, where we saw rare animals... And of course Michele and her staff. They make a great team together and are the best hosts you can imagine. And even with this review, we're sharing the experience we all had (family of 5: children 20, 17 and 11): the best place we've stayed so far!

I can’t say enough how incredible our experience was. The house and pool was perfect for our family of 5 and the grounds were stunning with regular sightings of toucans, howler monkeys and so much other wildlife. Michelle was the absolute best. We felt safe, at home, and had great recommendations on things to do in the area. The eco friendly house helped us appreciate it all even more knowing we weren’t leaving a footprint in this beautiful area. 10/10 would recommend staying at casa uvita!!

We had an amazing stay at Casa Uvita and wish we could have stayed longer. The property is beautiful and so peaceful and Michele was the perfect host. She and her two sweet dogs greeted us with pineapple juice when we arrived, she gave us great recommendations for the area, and even let us help pollinate her vanilla orchids. And her cookies and breads were amazing! We made so many great memories at Casa Uvita and can't wait to return.

The house is beautiful. Great layout and open air feel. It is secluded and safe as the owner lives on the premesis. Michele is very kind and attentive to needs. The access road is long and bumpy so a proper vehicle is recommended. Beautiful view, natural setting.

Our stay at Michele’s home in Uvita was perfect. Both the house and grounds are beautiful and well kept. The kitchen is well stocked, the beds comfortable, and everything was set up to help us feel at home immediately. We spent many hours in the pool and hanging out on one of the decks, watching howler monkeys, toucans, scarlet macaws and so many other creatures carry on their lives around us. An incredible experience. Michele is an amazing host who took the time to answer questions and to share her knowledge of the area. The happy memories that we have made there will be with us for a very long time. We honestly couldn’t have asked for more and we hope to return soon!

We are avid travelers and have stayed in so many airbnbs all over the world and Michele's Casa Uvita is one of the best and most memorable to date. The house is exactly as pictured but even better because the pictures cannot capture the feeling of peace you will feel waking up to the sights and sounds of the jungle- its really not something that can be put into words. We were traveling with 6 adults and 2 small children and we all felt we had plenty of space and the pool was just perfect. On our stay we saw and heard howler monkeys, capuchin monkeys, parrots, and toucans and so many beautiful plants and fruit trees on the property. Michele was the best host and went above and beyond for us during our stay. She is so warm and friendly and we loved her passion for sustainability and protecting the land and wildlife. She gave us great recommendations for where to go and was always very quick to respond. We will definitely be back- don't hesitate this is the place!

We loved our stay at Casa Uvita: Michelle is a great host, a warm welcome, Michelle took care of organizing for us an excursion with one of her friends in the mangrove. House maintained with care, nice view, I would highly recommend it!

We loved staying at Michele's with the family. The house is even more perfect than in the photos, everything is well furnished and thought out, it is beautiful, spacious and quiet. The environment is beautiful. Michèle is a fabulous host, who is extremely available. Thanks again, it was a pleasure.

We would also like to give much more than five stars if it were only possible. There were 8 of us (adults, teenagers and twentysomethings). It's just a fantastic house, everything is right, it's more than perfect, and Michele is the perfect host. She greeted us with homemade cookies and juice, was always available, had good tips, and also personally led us down her private path to the river, which was adventurous and totally worth it. The pool is simply the best private pool I have ever experienced and I have already requested that we rebuild it at home. I was allowed to live in the master suite and sat on the balcony there for hours (there are several!) and just enjoyed it. - Summary: Highly and fully recommended!

Michelle and Antonio were amazing!!!! I stayed here with my husband and three children and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Michelle was quick to respond and had several recommendations for things to do. She was proactive and reached out to local contacts for activities for our family. When we arrived Michelle greeted us and gave us a tour of the house and later a tour of their beautiful property. We had three delicious breakfasts that they catered to our children’s preferences while also allowing us to experience more traditional foods. We had fresh fruit and eggs and pancakes! Michelle also suggested a night tour and it was incredible! Highly recommend! In addition to our adventures we had scheduled, Michelle set up massages at the house to be done on the upstairs balcony. It was beautiful and we certainly enjoyed that! Ultimately- Michelle and Antonio felt like family by the time we left. They are amazing hosts with kind hearts who truly offer a special stay.

Others have shared what a special place this is, so I will share why I loved it specifically from the perspective of a mom who came with my young kids! I was nervous about staying without my husband but the on site security and caretaker instantly put my mind at ease. The view of the ocean and the jungle from the two balconies is stunning. My kids loved swimming in the pool and it was so nice to have the shade. The rooms were super comfortable and clean, and it was great to have three bedrooms upstairs with easy access to each other (plus one downstairs) all with their own bathroom. We also loved Uvita in general and the house gave us easy access to waterfalls, the beach, and a great local market. With all of our fun activities however, possibly my kids’ favorite was going on walks with the two dogs on the property. They are the sweetest dogs we have ever met, and they loved taking us on three mile daily walks along the pretty road that leads to the house. 10/10 recommend!!!

We had a wonderful stay here. The house is beautiful with lots of opportunities to see wildlife. The hosts were great, we would recommend to anyone visiting Uvita!

We had such a sweet, relaxing and comfortable stay here. Michele greeted us with fresh pineapple juice and homemade cookies. She was available if we needed her. The pool was heavenly! We saw (and heard!) so much incredible wildlife from the comfort of our patio. You really feel like you’re immersed in the jungle, in the safest friendliest way. No AC but the pool cools you right off. Hot showers available if you’re into that kinda thing. Very minimal biting insects. Curious, friendly resident basilisk lizards, howler monkeys, scarlet macaws and toucans. Kitchen was well stocked and easy to use. Anything we needed but couldn’t find, Michele provided with ease. Gorgeous sunset over the ocean views every day. Totally worth the long bumpy ride up the mountain for this little oasis out of town. We would love to return!
