Excellent, 1 month ago

This was such a great place for our group - 13 people ranging from 3 months to 70. Everyone had their own space, but then could come together and hang out in the common cabin. The daily cleaning service was an unexpected bonus and most welcome! The host also recommended a great night hike (Roy) and a much needed laundry service (Sparkle Laundry). We had a very comfortable time here listening to the rain, watching the wildlife, and grabbing coffee at the amazing Stella's.

Absolutely LOVED our stay here! Felt right at home from the very beginning. Lovely setting. We were a party of 10, ages8-71 and everyone enjoyed this place. Plenty of room for kids to run around, even got in a whiffle ball game! Great location walkable to restaurants and shops. Ate at Stella’s every morning. Concereige was amazing in tour recommendations and setting everything up. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Saw lots of wildlife on property. Would definitely stay here again. In my top 10!

Our family and friends stayed at Yerbabuena Lodge for 4 days after a wedding in Costa Rica. It was a perfect way to wind down after the celebrations. The rooms are spacious and well equipped with coffee makings and a hammock. The gardens are beautiful, full of birds and anteaters and agoutis. It’s close to monteverde cloud forest park and other hiking and wildlife areas. It’s right next to a fantastic coffee shop and restaurant. Regina was very attentive. The communal kitchen and dining space was perfect for our group of 9 to hangout and eat meals. I highly recommend this great spot.

We had a marvelous time at Yerbabuena. The location was perfect. The property is beautiful and very peaceful. We had a group of 12, ages 7 to 80, and we were all comfortable. We loved the setup of the rooms being separate from the common areas. This setting allows for the early risers to socialize while the rest of the group enjoyed sleeping in. Everything is close by. Lots to do within a short walking distance. Breakfast at Stella’s is a must. It was very windy during our stay and we could hear the trees moving at night. It was great! I wished our stay had been longer. We’ll need to go back to enjoy more of this paradise. Curi Cancha was amazing! The tour guide (Roy) was the best guide we’ve ever met. He made the experience memorable. We did everything that Selvatura offers, it took us 6 hours to do the zip lines (13), suspended bridges (8), see the sloths and butterflies. Monteverde is beautiful, and this house was the perfect place to stay, rest and enjoy it all. Thank you!

This space and set up was perfect for our large family group. Regina was very kind, knowledgeable, informative, and responsive. The gardens and ground area alone were so gorgeous and peaceful! We would highly recommend this spot to have a well experienced stay!

Host Response

Un gusto compartir YerbaBuena con una familia tan linda y receptiva. Siempre bienvenidos!

Yerbabuena is a great place to stay with a big family. Regina and Adolfo were very responsive and helped with local recommendations. The villa is like a reserve in itself. So many trees and the highlight was the common living area and kitchen. As it rained a lot and was very cold we didn’t get to see many birds in the property. But there are high chances of seeing them in good weather. The location was the main reason we booked this place and it was great decision. Stella’s was right outside with great breakfast. We would highly recommend Yerbabuena Villa to others.

I have stayed in Monteverde on five occasions, and Yerbabuena is the nicest property I have experienced in Monteverde. I traveled with my 15-month old, my mom and her two friends. We all found the rooms to be very clean and comfortable. The beds are in great shape and even with the Monteverde wind, we slept well. The location is great - a few restaurants are walkable, a coffee shop and little grocer next door, a co-op souvenir shop next door too, and I walked to the Catarata waterfall for a nice, short hike. The staff at Yerbabuena are friendly and nice, and we always felt very safe. My 15-month old enjoyed playing in their open yard, swinging on the swings, and we all enjoyed sitting on the comfortable chairs under the trees. We saw many beautiful birds, monkeys, and an agouti. The kitchen had everything I needed to cook simple meals. Our rooms were kept stoked with essentials. Regina was responsive to messages and her husband was friendly. 10/10 I would stay here again.

Regina’s place was wonderful! We had 9 family members ages 13 to 72! We enjoyed the property as it was private, safe and full of birds and wildlife. It was in a great location with a coffee shop, small market and souvenir shop literally steps away! We were there for 3 nights. Regina, her husband Israel and Adolfo were so helpful and quick to respond. We did a day and a night tour with Roy and can’t recommend him enough, he was fabulous! We ate at Taco Taco (delicious dinner), Choco Cafe ( yummy breakfast), Monteverde Brewing Company (very good beer and dinner)and Tramonti (higher end Italian and delicious)! Also had happy hour/sunset drinks on the deck at Morpho’s and coffee most mornings at Coffee Centre right next door. At the last minute we decided we couldn’t leave without doing hanging bridges but didn’t want to pay for the larger “theme” park type experiences so booked an unguided tour at Treetopia at 8 am and did all 6 bridges with the place to ourselves!
