We had a fabulous stay at Matthias’ place. The house and outside space were gorgeous. It was great for all the family. I loved watching the birds, iguanas, howler monkeys, raccoon and other animals around the house. It was very easy to pop to the shops and restaurants. The beach was a short stroll away. We were able to relax in the pool and soak up the sea and jungle views. I would highly recommend staying here.

This is seriously the best place we have ever stayed. The views are magical, the town is so nice the restaurants are all great. We loved the Argentinian Steak House the most. We loved that we could just walk to the beach. We saw parrots and monkeys everyday. The bedrooms were very comfortable and had good AC. We really hope we can come back someday.

We had a great week at Casa Marelie. The house was comfortable and everything was exactly as we expected to find. Puerto Carrillo beach is very close to the house, quiet and beautiful. We would definitely recommend this house.

We had a wonderful stay. The property is in a quiet location within a short walk of the beach, as well as several great coffee and pastry shops, convenience stores, and restaurants. The views are beautiful, and we enjoyed seeing a variety of local wildlife right from the property, including many bird species, iguanas, and other reptiles. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. The owner and property management team were outstanding throughout our stay. We had an unexpected maintenance issue, and Mathias went above and beyond to resolve it quickly. His responsiveness and willingness to help were truly exceptional. One thing to note is that during heavy rainstorms there may occasionally be brief power outages. This appears to be a local issue that affects the area and is not related to the property itself, so it's a good idea to keep your devices charged. We would gladly stay here again and highly recommend this property.

This is a beautiful Airbnb, we walked to Carillo Beach most days. very quiet street, amazing views of the bay. the kids swam daily in the pool. One of the best stays we've had. highly recommend this place!

My family of 5 just finished a trip to Matthias home, and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The house is somewhat dated, but it is well throughout and comfortable. It has all the necessities and was very clean. The view and location are superb - and absolutely worth the visit. My only negative comment is that the master bed was uncomfortable (too soft) and I ended up sleeping with my son in a bunk bed. Even with this in mind, I would absolutely recommend to anyone!

Beautiful, spacious home with fantastic views. The swimming pool is nice and a pleasant temperature. Using the beach chairs is very nice! Quiet place, and we were lucky that a deer came to visit in the garden. Highly recommended!

If you are thinking of booking Casa Marelie- you should do so! It’s walkable to the pristine and often empty Carillo beach, close to mini markets and great restaurants. Many beautiful birds and the local iguanas also visited the property. Samara is a short 10 mins away if you want more restaurants and activities. Our family didn’t want to leave and we hope to return to this beautiful spot!

Highly Recommend this Getaway with Stunning Views! This house is simple and elegant. The kitchen is fully equipped, so it was easy to prepare meals at home, which our family did often. The house was very clean, and the location is ideal—you get the best of both worlds. Upstairs, you have beautiful ocean views, while downstairs offers a view of the pool and lush garden. Plus, you’re just a quick three-minute walk from one of Costa Rica’s most beautiful beaches, Carrillo. There is also a small town with restaurants and shops a short walk away, just up the street. Whether you’re looking for relaxation or adventure, this place delivers.

Amazing stay! Casa Marelie was impeccable, very well equipped and offered absolutely stunning views, as well as beautiful privacy that makes the stay even more enjoyable. The location is ideal: Carrillo beach, splendid, is right next door, and a small grocery store is within walking distance. The city of Sámara is also only a 10-minute drive away. We highly recommend this place to stay!

We absolutely LOVED Casa Marelie!!!! One of our favourite ever Airbnbs! The first thing you see when you enter the house is the amazing sea views - so relaxing and beautiful, its been such a highlight for us. The house is cosy, simple and homely. It is well equipped and comfortably. It was very spacious for our family of 5 and we just loved spending time here. The pool was great fun too - our children loved it! Matthias is a very good and responsive host, communication was very easy and straightforward. Carrillo beach.... wow!!! probably one of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica! and in walking distance to the house (or 3 min drive!!!) Near the house (also walking distance), we had gorgeous restaurants and a fantastic bakery. I couldn't rate this place high enough - I wish we had stayed longer! Hoping to visit again in the future!

Wow wow wow - this place is definitely worth a visit. The house radiates coziness and elegance. We had booked the house for a few days over Christmas, but simply had to extend the stay. There is everything you need in the house. And there are small beautiful oases around the house, where there is room for vacation and relaxation. Playa Carillo is nothing less than amazing - and even just a short walk away. We actually had Samara Beach in our sights, but are so glad we chose to move the little drive further out. This place is definitely worth a visit.

Mattia's house is gorgeous and the views are amazing. We were surrounded by birds, butterflies and were able to watch the family of howler monkeys. My family and I loved staying at this houses and if we are fortunate enough to come back to Puerto Carrillo, we will surely stay again.
