Chechey

Everything was perfect. We did not want for anything, and Chechey was a great host.

Loved my stay. It's very large, so it's perfect for spreading out your luggage without being cramped. We heard a lot of birds in the courtyard. Close to several attractions and very quiet. Host was very responsive.

The accommodation is in perfect condition, and the owner is very nice. Highly recommended.

For me, leaving, BETTER THAN THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE. Besides the fact that the house is wonderful and has everything you need to feel at home, the area is the best in Bijagua to stay. It's quiet, surrounded by excellent vegetation, trees and beautiful wildlife. Every day I had close encounters with birds of different species. The proximity to downtown is fabulous. If you like to walk, it's only 2 km to get there, and there you'll find supermarkets, restaurants, fruit and vegetable stores, etc. The Tica people are hospitable and friendly. I found families who always welcomed me, and I even felt nostalgic when I had to say goodbye. IN ALL HONESTY, THIS IS THE BEST PLACE IN BIJAGUA, AND I WOULD GO BACK WITHOUT HESITATION. THANK YOU, MR. Absolutely the best accommodations I've had during my time in Costa Rica. The host was extremely responsive and considerate, and the place was clean and very homey. Probably the best host I’ve worked with on Airbnb.

A nice apartment without a lot of luxury, but with everything you need for a short stay. Conveniently located for an overnight stay after visiting the Volcán Tenorio National Park and for continuing your journey south the next day.

Incredibly comfortable and cozy

Chechey was a very good host. He was very responsive and his recommendations were excellent and made our experience in Bijagua memorable! Two of our favorite things we did were minutes from the house. The night frog tour and hiking and swimming at Rio Bijagua. We would stay there again.

We had a lovely stay at Chechey’s. The house is comfortable and located in a quiet area, 20 minutes from the Volcán Tenorio National Park. Chechey was very responsive and gave us some great tips on activities, including the hike to the Bijagua Falls, which is definitely worth it.

We stayed for 8 wonderful nights with our baby and a toddler and it was a great fit for our little family. Chechey’s place is situated in an absolutely gorgeous location, is quiet, private, and feels very safe. We loved feeling the breeze and hearing the birds with our windows open all day and night. Having 3 bedrooms, a washer & dryer, and a fully stocked kitchen was a plus! The only thing I would have changed was to have a slightly more comfortable bed and couch since we spent quite a bit of time lounging at home. One of our favourite things to do was to sit outside and enjoy the beauty and tranquility of our surroundings. We picked up some folding chairs (at the Walmart in Liberia) so we could sit on the covered front porch and enjoy the outdoors in any weather. There were several books to choose from and the wifi worked great. Chechey is a phenomenal host and he really goes above and beyond to provide any assistance you may need. We are so glad we found this gem of a place!

Bijagua is a charming place. Volcanoes, forest, jungle, animals, birds and wonderful people. Chechey's house is very good. Clean, everything we needed. Close to so many activities. We stayed at this house for 2 weeks and we were sad when we left. Chechey is the best host we've had the pleasure of knowing in all the years we've been booking Airbnbs. He took such good care of us. We 100% recommend Chechey's house Tip: If you are a light sleeper, use earplugs. Early in the morning there is a symphonic orchestra of birds and also howler monkeys in the distance. We loved it. ♥️🙂🌞🤗

We spent six nights here and really enjoyed our stay! The well-equipped kitchen and washer and dryer were great. We had lots of rain so didn’t see all the attractions, but there was a lot to see and do with Chechey’s suggestions. We especially enjoyed aTapir Valley night tour - it was thrilling to get close looks at a tapir, along with birds, red-eyed frogs, snakes, bats, etc! The hanging bridges at Heliconias Lodge were fun. We are avid birdwatchers and tallied 60 species of birds from daily walks up the road to Catarata Lodge. We saw yellow-throated toucan from the driveway. Supermercados and fruterias were nearby, and we enjoyed Yeye’s restaurante and El Barragon’s Pizzeria. A fun outing was a drive to escape the rain over to Cuipilapa a half hour away. It was sunny and dry there and we had great birding. Chechey doesn’t live nearby, but he sent a neighbor to promptly help us with a minor issue, and he quickly responded to us by text. We highly recommend this lodging!

1. Great value. Across the 50 Airbnbs I've stayed, maybe the highest value. 2. Chechey is extremely generous with his time and efforts. A.) My girlfriend had to take an important exam during our stay, and so she needed a quiet space. Chechey messaged the neighbors to ask them to not mow or play music during her exam. All of the neighbors, also very kind, were happy to do us this favor. B.) We didn't want to rent a car because it was too expensive, so he set us up with a local taxi driver (and neighbor) who proceeded to offer us a great rate for about 11 days of essentially on call taxi service, and saved us $2,000 by not renting a car. 3. The location is very good. There is a nice hike nearby for $10 a person, and it was our favorite hike in Costa Rica. There is also a nice restaurant, La Danta, about 30 minutes away by foot. 4. The spot is well accommodated; plenty of sheets and towels, an extremely well stocked kitchen. I cannot recommend this location more.

This house was a great jumping off point for exploring the area around Volcan Tenorio National Park. It had everything we needed for a small family to stay comfortable and Chechey was always super responsive when we had questions. We really enjoyed our stay.
