We had an amazing stay at Hazel's home! The house is beautiful, spotless, and thoughtfully designed with everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The indoor/outdoor layout is perfect, and the space feels private, peaceful, and surrounded by nature. The location couldn’t be better—quiet neighborhood, yet an easy walk to the beach, restaurants, and shops. It was the perfect home base for enjoying Playa Grande. The hosts were excellent—super responsive, helpful, and made check-in and check-out completely seamless. You can really tell they care about the guest experience. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend this home to anyone visiting the area!

Amazing stay at Casa Pelicano! The house has everything you need for a great beach vacation. Beach cruiser bikes, beach chairs, boogie boards and even surfboards. Beautiful yard and pool with a great outdoor hangout area. 2 minute walk to a beautiful beach and a surf break. Hazel and Kim were always responsive and very helpful! Will definitely stay here again next time I’m in Playa Grande

My young family of five (children ages 10, 8, & 5) just spent 11 wonderful nights in Casa Pelicano. If you are looking for a peaceful & tranquil family holiday this is the spot! From morning swims & pool side coffee getting greeted by the local birds, ezpz fast access beautiful beach days, to adventures, Casa Pelicano has it all! Hazel & Kim were excellent & welcoming hosts. The care for their Casa and responsiveness to our inquires kept our holiday in pure paradise! This was my families first time vacationing in an international Airbnb. Hazel was very helpful in pointing us in the right direction for groceries & transportation. The guide book in the Casa is also helpful with local fyi's & tours. There are 3 restaurants within a 8min walk. From the beach, about 35mins north (this is a children's beach play walk) there are more restaurants, Surf Dog has family friendly service. 25mins beach walk south is the water taxi to Tamarindo with many more restaurants & shops. Pura Vida!

Hazel’s place was absolutely perfect for our family. Our two boys loved having the pool and we were at the beach within five minutes! The house has everything you could need for your time there. It was wonderful having the beach buggy and equipment to make a fun day at the beach even better. The location is great, there are several restaurants nearby, and our surf lesson with the surf school was excellent. We hope to be back in the future!

We had an absolutely magical stay at Casa Pelicana! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by how impeccably clean and welcoming the space was. The location couldn’t have been better—perfectly situated to explore all the nearby attractions while still offering a peaceful retreat. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed, making it easy to cook meals when we weren’t out enjoying the local restaurants. The decor is absolutely stunning—tasteful, cozy, and thoughtfully designed, creating a relaxing and charming atmosphere. But what truly set this stay apart was Hazel’s incredible hospitality. She went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed and made us feel right at home. I can’t wait to return and experience the magic of Casa Pelicana again. Highly recommend!

Our family of 4 spent 4 wonderful days in Playa Grande and wished we could have stayed much much longer. Hazel and Kim’s home was perfect for us-spotlessly clean, well set-up for our family, well appointed, perfect location (short walk to the beach and several good restaurants) and the pool and backyard are heaven! I can’t recommend the home and location enough. Pura vida at it’s best!

We had a fantastic family vacation while staying at Hazel’s place. This house had great amenities including the bikes, surfboards, and boogie boards that we used everyday. If we weren’t at the beach which was a 3 minute walk away, then we were hanging out around the pool in the private, beautiful backyard. Several restaurants that were walking distance and the Playa Grande was a five minute drive with many more restaurants options. Hazel was great to communicate with and always responsive. I would highly recommend this place to stay in and would definitely come back.

Casa Pelicano was extremely well appointed with a great kitchen, comfortable rooms and living spaces, and a deck and pool that was so perfect we didn’t want to leave! A beautiful home away from home!

The short walk to the beach was ideal for our family and friends that stayed with us. The backyard with the pool was where we spent all of our time during the day if we were not at the beach or on a tour. We would highly recommend Hazel's place.

We had a great time at Casa Pelícano. It was very nice, clean, spacious and comfortable for our family of six. The house was well supplied with necessities and also had two surfboards and two boogie boards. The pool and backyard were lovely. We made many memories in Costa Rica and would recommend this place to families or up to three couples.

Our stay here was incredible. We spent many hours in the pool. It was very peaceful, a very short walk to the beach, with a market nearby which had all the necessities. The restaurants were great and you can walk to whatever you are seeking. Be aware if you are going to taxi across the estuary to Tamarindo that there is a bit of a walk down a trail to get to the beach for pickup, and you may have to wait a bit for a boat to come get you. It took us 45 minutes to save time on a 30 minute car ride into Tamarindo. It was a great way to get from one side of the river to the other, but you’re probably not going to save any time on the trip. Hazel was very responsive to anything we needed or questions that we had, and the casa was very clean. It has a great kitchen if you are going to cook in. The beds were comfortable and the linens are fantastic. I highly recommend a stay at Casa Pelicano!

We were highly impressed by this place. The pictures cannot do justice to this beautiful place. The hosts were vert helpful through our stay. It is a perfect getaway that my husband and I highly recommend! This Airbnb renewed our faith in the system. What a gem and what beautiful people! Grateful for the time there!

Hazel and her husband Kim were awesome. Hazel’s communication was perfect, the house was so very nice and clean including the pool and grounds. Hazel thought of every detail to make our vacation wonderful. It was awesome that she and Kim were close by if needed. Hazel ensured we had everything we needed at the house. BTW, there is an absolutely incredible cafe nearby. It is Cafe Mar Azul. The food and service are out of this world. We were there several times. Thank you Hazel and Kim for the best vacation ever!

Great stay at Casa Pelicano. The place is beautiful with a nice swimming pool and proximity to the beach. We had a little difficulty with the Wifi connection but everything was perfect. Hazel was very helpful and recommended activities for us.

We had a wonderful stay at Hazel's place in Palm Beach Estates with our three boys (ages 8, 7 and 4). It had everything we needed and was in a perfect location - a quick walk to a beautiful, private beach and not far from some fantastic restaurants and cafes. (Cafe Mar Azul and Malinches Street Tacos were faves.) We had rented a car making it easy to visit other nearby spots and beaches (Playa Conchal, Playa Minas, Playa Hermosa). Highly recommend staying here! We hope to be back :)

Hazel and Kim were fantastic host and always available for our needs and questions. The home was in a great location and was beautifully kept up. The place was perfect for us with our adult children and our grandson. We spent lots of time after walking on beach enjoying the pool in the backyard that was very private and peaceful. We can't wait to go back in the future.

What a perfect home for our family vacation (w. 6 year old and 1.5 year old in tow). The home is single level and well stocked with pool toys, beach toys, surf boards, boogie boards, beach chairs, balls, towels and even a little wagon to haul it all. The beach is a quick 4 minute walk so we accessed it multiple time per day with the tides & sunset watching. The landscaping around the pool area makes the home not only gorgeous but also very private and a little flat lawn area is perfect for yoga and stretching. The outdoor living space is fantastic with 4 comfy sun loungers, a non-slip (wood) deck around the pool and a large table perfect for outdoor family meals. The host is fantastic and VERY responsive. We had a drowned laptop issue and she was there with mini screwdrivers within 2 minutes. We also had a surfing accident with our kiddo breaking his nose and within minutes Hazel had sent us the best clinic pinpoint and had called ahead for us. We would love to come here again!

Great house in an amazing location close to beaches and great restaurants - the house has everything you need for a perfect vacation. The beds were surprisingly very comfortable. It was handy to have a wagon, chairs &beach toys to bring along to the beach. Hazel was very responsive to our needs while we stayed at her place. Had a small issue with water heat but Hazel got it fixed right away so there were no disruptions to our trip. Would definitely return!

Great house for a family or a group at a nice and calm location. 3 mins walk from playa grande the house has everything to offer for a pleasant stay in Tamarindo area. Nice and quiet neighborhood with beautiful beach (also great for surfing). One thing to note is that to Tamarindo the drive is 35 mins and the river taxi only operates from 7am - 5pm.

We had a great time at Casa Pelicano. The house was as nice as it looked in the pictures and was spotlessly clean, including the beautiful pool surrounded by tropical foliage. The kids enjoyed the boogie boards and bicycles and we all loved the proximity to the beach - just a 3-minute walk. The neighborhood is tucked away to the south of playa grande, and whereas you will need a car to get out to the larger supermarkets and a greater variety of restaurants, there were a surprising amount of activities within walking distance, including surf shops, restaurants, yoga, etc. Hazel was super responsive to all of our questions and we highly recommend staying at Casa Pelicano for a beach / surfing getaway!

Really a terrific stay at Casa Pelicano! House was clean, cute and super convenient albeit in relatively remote Playa Grande. Great, clean pool in back, 3 minutes walking to beach, 5 minutes to a lovely surf camp and Café. And Hazel was just the greatest host.... so easy to deal with and responsive. Definitely recommended !

This spot is just a gem. Lush green outdoor space, perfect patio whether sunny or rainy, and a stone’s throw from the beach. Comfy beds and fast WiFi for our working vacation. We loved walking to the estuary at low tide or just sitting on driftwood at high tide watching the break. Lovely cafes in walking distance and easy to set off on other adventures to Tamarindo, Avellenas, and Playa Negra. We will definitely be back.

The house was perfect for our family. Playa Grande location was great and not as busy as other areas but has a lot of restaurants close by, several within walking distance. We enjoyed the private pool and being a quick walk from the beach. Hazel was a great host. She was very helpful and responsive the entire time we were there!

Host offers many suggestions for local beaches to explore, restaurants in the area, as well as use of beach and pool equipment. Star Taco is an absolute must visit as well as Bahia de los Piratas!

We enjoyed our time at Casa Pelicano and playa grande. The neighborhood is out of the way and only a 3 min walk to a beautiful Playa grande. Its Quite and relaxing. The secluded location was private and relaxing. Very comfortable and functional. The pool is very nice and surrounded by lush vegetation, the kids loved the pool and beach toys. The kitchen is big and very functional as well as the rooms. We loved everything about this house! Hazel the hosts is very communicative and attentive if things come up all the time! We'll be back! The house was in a great area and a short walk to the beach. We really enjoyed the use of the surf boards!

This was the most incredible location for a beach escape! The house was spectacular and the beach was beautiful! Hazel was an incredible host and thought of everything we could need from restaurant suggestions to local drivers who shared local culture and hidden gems.

My wife and I stayed here in March 2022 with our 2 kids. The location was a very easy 1 minute walk to the beach. The house comes with 2 surf boards and 2 body boards which my kids (12 and 14) played with everyday and loved. The house had everything we possibly could need. Hazel was very responsive during our stay and answered all of our questions throughout the week . One day I asked Hazel if there was a beach umbrella at the house, which there was not. Within a couple hours Hazel bought and dropped us of a beach umbrella at the front door. Hazel has by far been one of the best hosts that we have every encountered during our travels around the world. Their are also many good restaurants within walking distance. My family and I will definitely be coming back to Casa Pelicano.

If you want to truly enjoy your stay in Costa Rica and have a real Pura Vada experience at the beach this is the place for you! Hazel is a 5 Star hostess and the Casa Pelicano is a great value for any family that wants to enjoy the beach life and everything Playa Grande has to offer! We will be back as soon a we can!

Very comfortable home with a serene backyard oasis around the pool, where we heard monkeys and saw many birds! Hazel's recommendations for everything were spot on! Fresh fish delivery, croissant delivery, even a local masseuse who came to the house. Loved being able to walk to places, and could get by without a car (although nice to drive to nearby beaches with beach chairs, cooler). I wish we could have stayed longer and definitely want to return!

Just finished our second stay at Casa Pelicano and it was just as amazing as they first! Hazel is a wonderful host who is always willing to help and is super communicative for any needs/questions. The location is great for long days - or sunsets - at the beach and is walking distance/a short drive to some great restaurants. For animal lovers especially, Casa Pelicano can’t be beat - with howler monkeys practically in your backyard and various types of birds enjoying the beautiful plants and flowers on the property.

Perfect family home. Spotlessly clean, wonderful private pool and just steps from the beach. In a private and totally save and secure enclave. Fully featured with pool and beach toys, a wagon to haul to the beach, two bicycles and two surfboards our son snd daughter-in-law used almost daily. Rooms individually cooled and full featured kitchen including burr coffee grinder. Only problem is you never want to go anywhere else, lol.

Hazel’s house is so amazing and such a peaceful oasis — playa grande is amazing surfing and we practically had the beach to ourselves every day!! Do not hesitate to book this house, it is so peaceful and private…being able to walk to such lovely restaurants is a big plus also!! The fact that the house comes with two surf boards, two boogie boards and two bikes to use is awesome!! This was our 2nd time staying at Hazel’s and it won’t be our last 😁❤️

Our family of 5 (3 kids ages 8, 12 and 15) had an amazing stay at Casa Pelicano! It's a beautiful house in an awesome location. The kitchen is large with room to move around (my husband, the cook, really appreciated that). Each room has its own A/C unit and fan. The patio even has a fan over the seating area. We enjoyed lounging in and around the pool, walking to the beach, collecting sand dollars and seashells and swimming in the ocean. My husband and I loved our morning jogs on Playa Grande. My girls enjoyed the boogie boards that were provided and my son and husband got to use the surfboards! There are some great restaurants nearby. There are even some surf shops off the main road not too far away. Another highlight was the German bakery truck. Sounds silly, I know. It comes twice a week and was supposed to stop in the afternoon on arrival day. We had no idea what time it was supposed to come and figured we'd miss it. After getting settled, we went to the beach. While walking back to the house from the beach, the truck was coming by directly in front of the house! It honked and stopped for us. It was like an ice cream truck, but with pastries and desserts! I felt like a kid again. Of course, our kids LOVED it! Hazel was very responsive, which I greatly appreciated! She is a fabulous host and offered to assist in any planning, should we have needed it. Definitely read the handbook upon arrival. It's chock-full of some very helpful info! We definitely want to come back to this area in the near future and hope to stay here again!

Hazel's place is gorgeous! The house is in a private community just a few houses away from the beach. The beach is beautiful and not crowded at all. Hazel provided surf boards, boogie boards, chairs, umbrella and a beach wagon to tote it all :) The house is easy walking distance to several restaurants. Hazel was an amazing host. She was very responsive and answered all our questions. Hazel also recommended a very talented local photographer who took family pictures at the beach for us. 100% recommend this home for an authentic Costa Rica Pura Vida experience!

This place was such a good find on Airbnb!! We’d definitely stay here again and recommend to friends and family. House came with lots of extras. Surf boards that were actually pretty good boards. Bikes to ride up and down the beach at low tide, finding sand dollars. Pool toys which the kids loved to play with after a good surf session each day. Kitchen was very well stocked. AC worked perfectly. Secure and relaxing, quite area also. Puri vida!!!

Casa Pelicano was exactly as described: great location, lovely setting in and around the house and gardens. My daughter referred to the property as a sanctuary...calm, filed with wonderful art and thoughtful gardens and the beauty of nature, and very comfortable. The pool was a great place to cool off, and the outdoor accoutrements made for an enjoyable stay (lounge chairs, beach chairs, wagon, bicycles, surf and boogie boards, etc.). The beach was phenomenal, a 3 minute walk from the house. Inside the house was everything we needed, including A/C, washers & dryer, and comfort. Hazel was great to work with: always accommodating but never intrusive. Wonderful local dining spots right in the development...a few minutes walk from Casa Pelicano. We’d definitely return.

Casa pelicano is a beautiful stay for a getaway beach vacation. Beautiful house with everything you need for a vacation. The pool is perfect and the beach is near the house. We used the bicycles for some beautiful sunset rides! House has a perfect distribution and it was super clean when we arrived. Recommend this house for a family vacation!

Our group of 6 had such a wonderful week at Casa Pelicano. I have stayed at many of the houses in Palm Beach Estates, Playa Grande, and this one is at the top for me. The space is very stylish, has a beautiful outdoor area (patio, deck, pool, bbq, outdoor shower etc.), and the amenities were fantastic; we had access to surfboards, beach chairs, bicycles, coolers, and many other items to use during our stay. Hazel and Kim were also top notch hosts. They were very responsive to any requests we had, and communicated easily and clearly. I can’t recommend this house enough. P.S. Don’t forget to order chocolate and almond croissants from Manfred. You will not regret it ;)

Casa Pelicano was dreamy and a perfect place for us, two couples traveling together, to stay. Sparkling clean, incredible amenities, excellent communication, and location--we couldn't have asked for more.

This home is excellent! Very clean with comfortable beds and a meticulously maintained garden. We had no idea when we booked just how special this neighborhood is. During our visit to the Costa Rica pacific coast, we’ve also stayed in Playa Flamingo and Samara. Playa Grande is by far my favorite.

Casa Pelicano is an amazing all in one place. I was surprised by the way Hazel keeps the house. Is like she lives there everyday. You have everything you could possibly need (every appliance, trash can, toiletree, dinner ware, kitchen supplies, pool toys, cleaning supplies, even medicines!) The house is perfectly maintained. Everything works and is sparkling clean. There aren´t bugs in the house which is amazing (just keep your doors closed) The AC throughout the house keeps the temperature just as you want it The pool is just the right size for you to relax The walking distance to the beautiful, secluded, clean, big beach is the best!!! The house felt secure and we were never afraid of anything. We had a situation with a bite from bee in my daughter's lip and Hazel was super kind and helpful solving everything with us and making it easier. Definitely would come back to this place!

Place was great. Outside area was really nice to hang out in for our group (2 couples, 2 kids). Beds were comfortable. Wifi was inconsistent but we didn't have a big need for it. Hazel coordinated a local baker delivering fresh croissants/baguettes/pastries on Saturday morning - really delicious. Also she's a fantastic host - gets back to you really quickly via Whatsapp.

Hazel’s place was the perfect stay for my family’s work/play vacation :). The backyard is a great setup and we loved hanging out in the pool during the hot days. Our favorite was the quick 3 minute walk to the beach which was always completely empty besides some surfers taking advantage of the great waves. The beach is gorgeous and there’s nothing like having your own private, empty beach. All of the restaurants in the area were absolutely delicious. Cafe Mar Azul and Rip Jack Inn were our favorites. Hazel went above and beyond with helping get some items back to us that we had left at the house. She was always quick to respond and very easy to communicate. I highly recommend this stay for a wonderful relaxing beach vacation!

Hazel's place it's great! It has everything you need: full kitchen, nice bedrooms, awesome pool, clean bathrooms, nice backyard. The whole place is clean and neat. The house has many details that show how much love she has for her place. The pool is a great spot. Also, you can walk to the beach, it's like 3 minutes away. Around the house there a couple of restaurants. Hazel is really nice and always willing to help you. Hope to come back soon! We love it!

We could not have enjoyed our stay at Hazel’s place more! It was outstanding!! So clean and comfortable and the pool and garden area area your own private oasis. We loved the fact that you had a short little walk thru the jungle to get to a beach that was virtually private (like we had the whole beach to ourselves!!). Wonderful surfing spot with a lovely sand break, so nice she had the boogie boards and surfboards and bikes there for us to use as well! Location couldn’t be better with great restaurants near by! We loved every minute of our time there and would t think of staying anywhere else next time we visit Coats Rica!

The property was not only beautiful and sparkling clean when we arrived, we were personally welcomed and given tips for our stay in the area. My children, aged 8 and 11, my husband and myself enjoyed the privacy and every amenity, especially the pool just outside. We were minutes from a private, beautiful beach. After a stay in the Lake Arenal area just before Playa Grande, we especially appreciated the air conditioning! We never felt the need to leave the Playa Grande area, because everything was so convenient within walking distance or a very short drive. The owners checked in regularly via WhatsApp, to make sure we had everything we needed and no issues. They were so responsive when we had questions or when we did ask for something, such as firestarters for the grill. During our stay, I had an unfortunate illness and needed medical attention. I reached out to the owners and Hazel was not only very compassionate and caring, but called ahead to the clinic to be sure there was an English speaking doctor available to treat me right away. She also followed up with me through the day (six hours at the clinic!) and in the days afterward. Overall, just an amazing experience thanks to the owners' attention to detail, the beautiful property, convenient location, and good vibes all around. We would love to visit again if our travels take us to Costa Rica in the future!

If you want to stay in a great place and experience “the real Costa Rica” this is the home for you! Hazel is the best host we ever had on Airbnb! She knows all the best spots from Black Stallion ranch (zip line, etc) to Catamaran Sailing Cruise and restaurants. Highly recommend this for anyone looking for the real experience.

From the minute we booked until we left, Hazel made everything so easy and perfect! The house is absolutely stunning, clean, well equipped. The backyard is a true oasis and the beach, 2 mins walk, was the most incredible sunsets. Great restaurants and a mini mart 3 mins walking distance. The only thing we thought the house needed was a drying rack and then one of realized there was one right in front of us! Tons of towels, bikes, boogie boards, board games, books, a fully equipped kitchen. We can’t wait to come back! Thank you Hazel!

Hazel & Kim, I will say it over and over again... you both have been amazing hosts. Our stay exceeded every expectation we had. Casa Pelicano is accommodating, safe, welcoming and above all FUN. Your little slice of heaven brought us many memories. From surfing, picking sand dollars, seeing crabs and rooming with our little gecko friends to having bbqs by the pool. It’s was unforgettable. Catarana- IS A MUST GO. Hungry for breakfast? GO. Dinner? GO. Easy 3min walk with a friendly staff. Manfred- IS THE MAN. Chocolate croissants are warm and delish. Brought right to your doorstep on time to compliment a nice cup of coffee. Catamaran sailing- Best activity we as a family ALL enjoyed. Enjoyable for all ages. The price is right for everything that was included. I honestly want to say we probably drank our way through the price of the trip. My family and I had a wonderful stay at Casa Pelicano. It's a beautiful house with sever restaurants nearby and the beach very close. The bikes, surfboards and body boards were great to have. My girls LOVED the pool!!!!! Highly recommended and would stay here again.

Great location. Walking distance to the beach. And one of the most beautiful beaches in the north pacific area of the country. It’s important to take notice, the place is great, and it’s better if you get there with your own transportation.

Wonderful stay at Hazel and Kim’s place. We had a very relaxing week, so close to the beach, and several great restaurants. Loved Cafe Mar Azulejo. Good surfing. Thanks so much for the use of the boards. Had wonderful baked goods delivered by Manfred. The house was a perfect spot for our family with my husband, 2-18 year olds and one 21 yr old. Who could go to the beach or lounge by the pool. We were so sad to leave and will definitely go back.

Casa pelicano is a spectacular place! In addition to having the fauna and flora very present all around the house , the cleanliness is impeccable! What better way to say this place is fabulous!

This place was wonderful and Hazel was an exceptional host. The house was beautiful, clean and in a perfect location. So many thoughtful touches, all the amenities you could need, and exceptional service from Hazel. We loved our time here! The pool, close walk to surf and beach, and outside shower was perfect for us and our little 21 month old (who even learned to swim during our time here). Highly recommend and look forward to our next visit!

Everything about the experience at Casa Pelicano was amazing. From the gorgeous backyard pool and "jungle" feel of the landscaping, to the spacious bedrooms and living area, and add in 5 minute walk to the beach the house is absolutely perfect for a group of 2 or 3 couples. Perhaps the best part of it all, Hazel as a host was the best host I've ever experienced on an AirBnB stay. She helped us coordinate multiple adventures on our stay, was incredibly responsive and truly made our time at Casa Pelicano special. If you want to experience the wonder that is Playa Grande, a stay at Casa Pelicano is the way to go.

In one word, our stay at Casa Pelicano was PERFECT! We were 5 adults, 2 moms and 3 young adult kids. The 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms were super clean, the kitchen well equipped, with an charcoal outside. One of the greatest aspect of the casa s how comfortable and private we feel in the garden around the pool! We spent all mornings there, and all afternoons surfing on the beach which is a couple of minutes away by foot. But the greatest thing was the kindness & hospitality of Hazel (& Kim, her husband!). She proposed and made the reservations for us for quite a few actvities: surf lessons, a day sailing on the sea in a big schooner, etc. So we really recommend renting this great villa, you'll have the guarantee to spend an amazing vacation!

Great location, away from Tamarindo but close enough for convenience. We had the amazing beach all to ourselves, the pool was perfect for cooling off, the bikes were fabulous, and the cool a/c was welcomed. It was a quiet perfect location for my family, including 3 children 6-12 and mother-in-law.

Casa Pelicano was perfect for what we were looking for in a vacation rental. It is about a 2 minute walk to the beach, has a couple restaurants near and a few more just a short 5 minute drive away. You can take a water taxi to Tamarindo during the day. Hazel is very responsive and helpful during your stay if you wish. A concierge to help you book excursions is available. The pool and house are well cared for and clean. The toilet handle was loose and was fixed immediately. They provide surf boards, bikes and boogie boards as advertised. There was air conditioning in all rooms that worked well. The house and property were secure. We truly enjoyed our stay.

The Casa Pelacona is a wonderful place to just relax and enjoy Playa Grande! 3 minute walk to the beach, close to restaurants and surf shops which was a must for the two 20 year old boys who woke every morning to surf! One of my favorite things was having the German pastries delivered to the casa - got to try those chocolate crossaints. This place was perfect for my family of 4 and house and kitchen is well equipped. I'll definitely be coming back to this place!

We had a great time at Playa Grande, and our host Hazel made us feel very welcome. She replied immediately to any questions we had. They had put together a folder with lots of useful information, which was very handy. The beach is literally a couple minutes walk away from the house. All in all we had a wonderful time. Hazel was awesome and provided a lot of feedback and suggestions prior to our arrival and during our stay. So helpful! And casa pelicano was perfect. Would highly recommend staying here and would definitely come back.

Casa Pelicano is a fantastic place. It is absolutely beautiful and spacious with a great backyard and pool with lots of privacy. It was so relaxing and peaceful. Very great location with a very short walk to the beautiful beach. Probably the best walking beach we have ever experienced. We made good use of the pool with the great weather. All the amenities you need - we just can't say enough about this place. Hazel was very welcoming and helpful and ensured our stay was nice. We took some of her recommendations like the local baker and a local person coming to the casa to do massages. We also rented a car and my daughter and I drove to various places and did an ATV tour; horseback riding; and other sight seeing. Safe, comfortable and located well. By the way, the casa also had a safe, which was an added benefit - however, really we weren't worried about safety or security. We will definitely want to book this casa again if/when we return to Costa Rica.

Nice 3 bedroom in a quiet location. Near beach and the pool was great to cool off in. Perfect size for our family of 4.

Hazel was an exceptionally warm and welcoming host - providing us with guidance on the local eateries and beaches to venture to. The house is everything one would want in a vacation beach rental and very comfortable.

We loved our stay at Casa Pelicano! Hazel was a wonderful host with great tips for surf lessons and a local baker who delivered delicious croissants and muffins right to the house. The house is beautiful and pool was perfect for cooling off, lounging, and even birdwatching! House is very close to the public beach access and within walking distance to all the great hangouts in Palm Beach Estates. We'd definitely stay here again.

Casa Pelicano was an ideal house stay for our beach trip in CR. Clean, spacious, nicely furnished. Great amenities: good towels (in abundance), beach chairs, umbrellas, pool floaties, two surfboards in the 7 foot and 7'6" range, two bikes, local cell phone, etc... It's located in the more low-key Playa Grande (vs neighboring Tamarindo) with a beautiful beach for surfing or relaxing, just a few minutes walk away. It's also within walking distance to a store which has everything you need if you feel like staying in and cooking. Hazel was a wonderful hostess, meeting us at the house right on time and giving us great recommendations. Would definitely come back.

The host was extremely responsive and helpful throughout our stay. The rental was very well maintained, clean and comfortable. This was my fourth trip to Playa Grande. Casa Pelicano was my favorite place to stay so far.

The house was beautiful and perfect for our family. Very clean and spacious and I loved how the kitchen looked out to the pool. My kids (5 and 14) loved swimming and playing in the pool everyday. The beach is a 3 minute walk away and feels like your own private beach. It was beautiful! Nathalie, the housekeeper is a very lovely and friendly lady. I never got to meet Hazel as I was at the beach when she dropped by, but both her and Nathalie would check in occasionally to make sure all was good. My family had an amazing time and I would definitely recommend Casa Pelicano to anyone seeking a tranquil and relaxing place to stay..

I looooved staying here! It's such a comfortable home. The Photos really don't do it justice. Originally, I thought a pool by the ocean was a silly thing, but then i quickly changed my mind! Especially after I was in it everyday, winding down, cooling off. The kitchen is large with plenty of space for cooking. I cooked every single meal of our trip at the house which was fun, easy and more affordable than always eating out. This home has all the essentials. Hazel and her husband have put a lot of love into this home and it shows, they are close by when needed and invisible when you don't need them. I counted 300 steps exactly from the front door to the beach! The beach has warm water, beach breaks, sand dollars, beautiful shells. It's really perfect for all ages and especially surfers. The AC & wifi work great at the house which is a nice little luxury. All I all, it's a fantastic place. Playa grande is very chill, I felt extremely safe, even walking around alone at any time of the day or night (except with all the crabs at night! OMG, so many crabs outside at night) I really enjoyed my time at Casa Pelicana and I hope to return in the not too distant future!

Hazel and her husband welcomed us with open arms. Not only is the place beautiful comfortable and impeccable, but the house is a couple steps away from the beach! I would highly recommend this place for a nice relaxing stay.

One of our best family vacations! The house is perfect for a family of 5 (or 6). It is 3 min walk to a fantastic beach. The owner was very helpful with tips and helped set up surfing lessons. There are several excellent food and restaurant options (all waking distance) and a German bakery with home delivery! The house is maintained in excellent condition with a nice private pool. Overall - surpassed our expectations!!

Our first time family vacation to Costa Rica was wonderful and made even better by Casa Pelicano. The house is gorgeous, comfortable, and clean. Playa Grande is a beautiful stretch of beach and the house is only 50m away. It is secluded but only a 10 min water taxi away from tamarindo (definitely a must do!). The bikes were a great way to travel to the local store. On top of that, Hazel, Jill, and Sharr are some of the kindest people we have met and took care of any needs we had. I would highly recommend staying at Casa Pelicano if you are in Costa Rica.
