They weren’t kidding about the stairway to the place. But we got used to it. Having Derick as boat driver and guide was priceless. Friendly and helpful, he was always looking out for us to get the best experience. The on site host, Lisa, was great. She even gave up her own water cooler so we had drinking water when we arrived. We discovered she also makes a yummy mutton pepper jelly that is sold at local stores. Our entertainment for the week were the friendly cat and kittens. Not to mention the hummingbirds that emptied the feeder in under 6 hours each time. Electricity would be cut randomly but not for more than 30-40 minutes each time. It happened only on half the days we stayed. I figured it was best to leave the blinking clock on the stove alone! :) This place is a gem. Don’t tell anyone about this island or it might become like Roatan. Shhhhh!!

Had a wonderful stay with great views! The house was very comfortable and had a nicely stocked kitchen, which we enjoyed. Shout-out to Lisa at Mi Casa Too (restaurant up the hill) for the delicious food and prompt assistance. Derick made our trip smooth and enjoyable, from the diving and island adventures to the delicious, fresh seafood and the sweet, welcoming energy. The power outages were pretty frequent and worth noting. Also, be careful about leaving any shoes or items outside on the porch, as there are a fair number of male cats around who are excited to mark their territory (repeatedly). There’s nowhere to swim right by the house, and Derick’s wonderful services are crucial for getting in the water! Overall, we loved our time in Guanaja and would definitely come back!

Honduras truly the country of kindness. The Guanaja locals are joyous and happy to share their island life. The house was comfortable with an amazing view, wildlife all around, and a great well-stocked kitchen. Derick the boat guide absolutely made the trip! His friendliness, knowledge and flexibility made our week there such a great memory. If you want quiet beauty, peaceful surroundings with no tourists or commercialism, this is the place for you! Lisa the house mgr is a delight and runs the restaurant up the hill with delicious food!

House was in perfect location - great views, close to all of the activities ( via penga boat) we did including diving, snorkeling, hiking to waterfalls, beach clubbing, restaurants and more. Small walk to local restaurant as well. Derik was our local guide for the week and made our trip !

We stayed for 5 nights and it was wonderful! The kitchen is well stocked. Derick was such a great guide to help us get around and tour the island. We loved having the cats around as well to remind us of our furry pets at home. The house is on a hill and has a beautiful view. We would love to come back again.

We had an amazing stay at Vista Caribe. Derrick and Shamar were perfect guides for our week on the island and helped plan our daily activities. Mi Casa Too, the restaurant up the hill, has wonderful food. Lisa and her family made us feel very welcome. We also enjoyed adopting the local cats that stayed on the porch for the week. The kitchen has everything you need. Pack light. The only thing I would suggest is adding a little more storage space for clothing - perhaps some shelves on the landing in the stairway. If you are interested in a relaxing, scenic, off-the beaten path vacation, this is for you.

This was my fourth stay at Vista Caribe. Always new things to do at every stay. Enjoyed the beach, snorkling, and fishing. Derrick was great as always. Looking forward to my next visit. Always feels like home away from home. Wishing Patrick much success in owning this beautiful home.

This place and the people involved in running it were a highlight of our entire 19 day Roatan>Guanaja>Roatan adventure. Having people like Derrick and Lisa(Mi Casa Too) taking care of all of our needs like Island tours, snorkeling, buying groceries and telling the history of the area was just an amazing experience. Patrick and Thuy were very accomodating and communicated well. The house was spectacular. We cant wait to return!!!!

Wonderful home to stay in to visit an amazingly beautiful island! Derick the boat guy was also amazing and available any time we needed him. The people on the island are very friendly. There is also a great restaurant above the house with amazing food and a great owner!! Overall, we loved our time in Guanaja and the stay at this wonderful house. Thank you Patrick. .
