This was our second stay, and once again it was an unforgettable experience. This is truly one of the most unique places to stay near Lake Arenal peaceful, surrounded by beautiful Costa Rican nature and wildlife, and perfect for families or anyone looking for a relaxing and authentic escape. From the moment you arrive, it feels like home. Jimmy is an exceptional host. He was incredibly responsive, stayed in contact with us throughout our visit, and gave us many helpful local recommendations for restaurants, activities, and places to explore around Lake Arenal and La Fortuna. We always felt welcomed and so well taken care of. The property has so much character and warmth, and it offers a truly special Costa Rica experience that is difficult to find elsewhere. We would absolutely stay here again and hope to return on our next trip. Highly recommended you will not regret booking this beautiful place!

We had a great stay here! The house is spacious, offers a lot of privacy and is perfect for a family of five. The location is ideal: about an hour's drive from all the activities around Arenal, so you can enjoy the hustle and bustle, but then unwind again. The host always responded quickly and was incredibly helpful. During our stay, a severe storm caused problems with the Wi-Fi, but together with concierge Erica, he did everything possible to fix this as soon as possible. We greatly appreciate that. The absolute highlight was the animals around the house. Every day there was something new to see, which made our stay extra special. Highly recommended for anyone looking for peace, nature and a nice base from which to explore the Arenal area!

Jimmy has a lovely home in a peaceful area. He goes out of his way to ensure we have the best experience at all the local restaurants and activities. It's clear he cares a lot about making sure we enjoy our stay. He always responds in a timely manner. My best host experience!

Jimmy's place was amazing. Even with no AC, the breeze through the house made it feel perfect. He was super responsive with ideas of things to do around the area and I felt the location was a perfect home base for an inland trip to Costa Rica. Everything was about an hour away (La Fortuna, Monteverde, Tenorio) with 2 great breakfast spots within 15 minutes. Great place.

We (2 adults and 2 teenagers) had a lovely and relaxing stay. We were greeting upon arrival by friendly dogs and chickens. On our first night, Ericka cooked us a wonderful fish dinner. There are also great eating options nearby. My family especially loved Cafe & Macadamia only a few minutes drive away. There is a lovely fruit stand at the bottom of the road. Jimmy was exceptionally responsive and gave me lots of great tips about the area and Costa Rica in general as this was our first trip to the country. The house is 10 minutes from Tico Wind for kiteboarding and windsurfing. The glass doors on two sides of the house can fully open so you feel like you are outside yet it’s screened in so the bugs don’t bother you. Truly a unique and memorable stay.

The place is a unique hideaway amongst a beautiful Costa Rican mountain setting. We chose this place as a way to break up the drive from Papagayo/Liberia beach to Arenal. So glad we did. Jimmy’s home, setting and his communication were excellent. We were able to enjoy the land and bird life. And do much needed laundry! Screened in wraparound deck is great. Jackie, the onsite host, cooked us a fresh and tasty traditional breakfast. She was so friendly, delivered exactly when we had agreed on. Great home. And great option if you want to get away from Resort-life amongst locals. Nueva Arenal town close enough to grab supplies too.

If you’re looking for country life, Jimmy place is it! I enjoyed staying at the property but I will advise you to get the live location of the house from Ericka, so you don’t get lost. We got lost the first night, the gps took us to the wrong place. Overall once we arrived to the Airbnb Jimmys hospitality was great along with Ericka. We went to ponderosa adventure park, it was literally one hour away and la fortuna was one hour away as well… Jimmys place is literally in the middle of everything. There’s also authentic Costa Rican restaurants nearby and many more restaurants near the property. I enjoyed seeing the chickens and we had fresh eggs from the chickens on the property! First time hand picking eggs from The hens and had them for breakfast, that was pretty cool! Since we’re from the city weee not used to that. I would definitely revisit again! Also fly in from Liberia Airport it’s closer than San Jose airport .

I had a great experience at this Airbnb. Everything was perfect from start to finish: the place was spotless, very well equipped, and exactly as described (or even better). Jimmy, Riza, and Ericka were exceptional hosts—always attentive, friendly, and willing to help at all times. His hospitality really made a difference and made us feel right at home. I would definitely stay here again, and I recommend it 100% for anyone looking for a comfortable, quiet, and carefree stay.

We loved staying there! Erika was there to greet us and made us dinner one night! The house was stunning and truly a unique experience! Our kids loved the cows and chickens, as did we- loved getting fresh eggs in the morning! It’s remote in a way that feels exclusive and private but still close enough to things if you want to do excursions! The hosts were extremely communicative and explained things perfectly! Loved it so much!

What a cool place! While the house was a little tricky to find being off the beaten path, Jimmy and Ericka were super responsive when we messaged for navigation help, and Ericka came out to end of the driveway to show us the way! The house itself was very cool with lots of open space, a great screened in patio and amazing views from the glassed rooms! Sleeping in the bedrooms felt like you were right in nature. There were blinds for the showers, and doors on the bathrooms so there was lots of privacy there. The rest of the windows had no blinds but it still felt very private. There is another Airbnb on the property but it wasn’t an issue for us. There is an indoor pool that was really cool, and you can walk around the property and see the animals. It was a short drive to Nuevo Arenal and Tilaran for restaurants but Ericka also made amazing meals to have right at the house, which we appreciated! Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at this house and would highly recommend!

A truly special place nestled into the hill above Guadalajara. A little slice of paradise!

WOW! This accommodation far exceeded my expectations. Jimmy was great, Ericka was very responsive and willing to go above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. We are already planning to come back Costa Rica solely to stay at Jimmy’s place! We can’t wait to have Ericka prepare a meal for us. You all have been one of the best host we’ve had. You made our trip to Costa Rica that much better. Thanks so much for everything! See you all very soon.

Great place! We would stay here again

We loved staying in this spacious and luxurious treehouse! The property was lush and peaceful and safe. We loved the friendly kittens and even a puppy! We spotted toucans and the amazing yellow tail blackbirds! The meals prepared by Ericka, our on-site host were delicious! Jimmy made great recommendations for out to eat! We enjoyed The Gingerbread and the more local Equus. The views of Lake Arenal from the road down are breathtaking! We did do lots of driving to get to activities. Not necessarily bad, just know that La Fortuna, Monteverde, and Tenorio volcano are all 1 hour 30 minutes away. Thank you for a beautiful stay in Costa Rica!

Unfortunately, only were able to enjoy one night. It was an oasis of animals that were very friendly and inter mixed with chickens, baby chicks, roosters, dogs, and a puppy, cats and kittens, lots of birds of all variety. My son is in school for a veterinarian science and was in heaven as we all were. We did not even want to leave the property due to the love of these animals. There were many areas where we were able to walk and the grounds were spectacular the screened in new porch was the best part of everything. we spent most of our time out there in early morning and late nights watching the stars.
