Studio in Monte Verde

Absolutely amazing experience, pictures didn’t even do the place justice! Beyond grateful to have stayed here. Despite there being some unwelcomed rodents (as expected, seeming that it is in the forest) the hosts were very responsive and willing to support. Overall amazing experience, would HIGHLY recommend.

So: views, views. VIEWS. In my opinion, the main reasons to stay at Casa Cielo are the location and the views. Both are beautiful. And the sunsets—indescribably beautiful, really. Don't book Casa Cielo if you expect comfort, convenience, or if you want to cook full meals. You’d better order from Giselle. She delivers very good, local food directly to the house. Great, nice. So: The comfort is modest, and the drawers squeak. You have to lug your suitcases a bit along an uneven path. And what do you get? A charming, simple cottage? Simply put: an indescribable view.

Magical Views & Great Comfort We had a lovely stay at this cabin. The interior was very comfortable, and the highlight was easily the incredible views. Watching the sunrise and sunset from the property was an absolutely magical experience. I also highly recommend spending some time reading in the hammock—it was the highlight of my trip! Note for Hikers One of the main reasons we chose this cabin was for the advertised hiking trails, as hiking in Monteverde can be quite expensive. However, we found the routes around the property difficult to navigate. After spending an hour trying different footpaths, we eventually had to give up because they weren't well-marked.

Cacita Cielo is a spectacular place with beautiful views of the mountains and surrounding farms. We are a family of four and, despite the house being small, we felt very comfortable during our stay. The entrance is a narrow driveway, so if you’re traveling with a lot of luggage, keep in mind that you’ll need to carry it in. If you plan on cooking, make sure to bring everything you’ll need, as the kitchen is basic. Don’t expect a luxurious stay or super comfortable beds, but the charm of the place makes up for it. Having a vehicle is essential to get around. The house is tucked away in the mountains and there’s no sign at the entrance, so we had to ask for detailed directions. The host kindly guided us and even sent the Waze location, which worked much better than Google Maps in this area. The host was always responsive and helpful whenever we needed anything. One of the highlights was waking up to the incredible sounds of birds and howler monkeys at dawn an unforgettable experience.

This place was so cool! The home is very unique and has the most amazing view. The weather changes so rapidly in Costa Rica, so the view always looked different. We saw monkeys, toucans, parrots, hummingbirds, and more all from the balcony. It was convenient to have the trails around the property, but it would have been nice to get a better sense of them, since there was no map or markings anywhere. We took a drive down to the Sustainability Demonstration Center one of the days at their amazing property further south and had a delicious vegan lunch.
